RE: Recommendation on Michigan Campground

Be aware, Mi. State Parks charge for the reservation + camp site + the RV + any towed vehicle if you are towing a vehicle behind a MH for example. Even without a reservation they charge a "walk up fee". If you are staying several nights in Mi State Parks you should ck into their yearly pass. Without the yearly pass you can stay at a commercial park with full hookups and cable for less than the state park where many provide electric only at your camp site!!!

Fayetteville, WV to Pipestem

We'll be traveling from Fayetteville, WV to Pipestem State Park (WV)in a 39' MH and towing a truck. Was considering Hwy 19 to Hwy 3 to Hinton, WV. then down hwy 20 to Pipestem. Any suggestions to the contrary? Am concerned about the sometime narrow and windy roads in WV. Any suggestions for a route that is reasonable for this size rig?

RE: Cummins 5.9 190hp

You may be able to have the engine "tweeked" by Cummins but you better check with the Trannsmission mfgr. (probably Allison) to see if the Tranny could accomodate the additional torque. I had a 96 Coachman with the 5.9, 190 HP and was about to do what you would like to do but was told by Allison NO-NO, too much torque.

RE: Tiffin Front engine Diesel

I have a 37' 2007 Bay FRED. Noise and heat are not near the problem that I had with my former V10 FORD. Have more torque and hill climbing ability than the Ford. I pull a Ford Sport Trak towed and still get I get appx. 9+MPG! Yes a rear eng is more quiet but the noise I hear with my Fred is the fan engagement now and then only. I can live with now and then!

Bristol to Lenoir, N.C.

Is there an easy and somewhat direct way to take a big rig from Bristol to Lenoir, NC.? How are the recommended roads from the stand point of condition and elevation changes (steep, winding, etc)?

WV Route 60

Thinking of traveling WV 60 from near Charleston east to Hwy 19 in 38' MH +Towed. Any comments concerning the route; i.e, switch backs, narrow, grades, etc. Been told it is a prety drive but not much other info. Thank you for your input.
