I use one and if I mess it up trying to install it I have a spare, if I do the first one right I have an emergency spare.

RE: KM home park?

I have belonged to KM for about 7 years, they have a 125 mile restriction (Can't live closer) when choosing your home park. I had a lot of misgivings while I worked and was required to camp close to home base, but once cancer made me retire totaly I have gone full time and pretty much live at the club propertys. (2weeks during the high season, three weeks during the winter. then have to go somewhere else for a week out)
I have no problems with the club but if I were faced with the choice again I would pass.
The original membership is very high and the monthly club charge is rough on a limited income. Mine is payed off and the only payment is the dues (about $350.)which will go on till I die.
You really have to be retired and camp alot to make membership worthwhile.

Gated RV Club

The other day we visited some friends at a private gated RV club park, looked good for a home base in Washington State.
It was kind of woodsey and my DW's allergies went nuts but we can adjust our travel for that.
Do any of you know of "Private Camping Clubs" ie Membership camping ?
I don't mean Good Sam or a short term stop over-already belong to three of them.
Seems all I have found are on tribal land which is OK, but last week we were ready to write a check ($2,500) but found out the lease with the tribe was only good for 3 more years, at which time all contracts were cancelled and you had 15 days to vacate the land.

Safe shore Power

I bought one of the little yellow power post testers that shows if it's safe to use.
My question is, if I plug into the 120 plug and the lights show OK, does that mean the 30 amp and 50 amp. are safe or just the 120 volt ???
I have a pigtail that I can use to check the wireing threw the 30 amp plug, but what about the 50 amp. ?
I've never had a problem but I pretty much stay at well maintained parks because my wife uses a walker and can't deal with uneven ground.

RE: Flush King Reviews

I have had mine for a couple of years and I use it each time I dump.
I rinse the tank 2 or 3 times, probably overkill but I have nothing else to do.
Mine has the gate valve between the clear elbow and the sewer hose.
This is my third RV and still the same Flush King.
I also have the masarater but prefer the Flush King so I can see whats happening.
Another posiitive is if there is a paper plug, it will blow the clog back into the tank and resume the flow.

Some Place to Call Home ?

We are going to Port Susan Camping Club north of Everet, WA. this weekend to look over buying a membership.
Have any of you been there or done that ?
The land is leased from an indian tribe and you can only stay on a site for 180 days then you have to remove yourself, quite a few of the residences buy two lots next to eachother and just move from one lot to the other for the next 180 days, or they travel that time until they are allowed back.
The land is leased, not purchased, and there are some that look great and some look like a parking space so we are going up to see whats what.
If you have had an encounter with this type of deal, jump on and give me your feed back.

Best way to go to Alaska ???????

Heres your chance to share your knowledge.
I am planning a Class A Deisel trip to Alaska in the summer of 2014.
I live full time in a 40 foot Class A Pusher, at this time I am not planing on towing my car but that might change.
We are in the northwest south of Seattle, WA.
I have heard about putting the rig on a barge to Alaska and driving from the coast, need someone that has done this in the recient past, to chime in and let me know about costs and time. (Don't care about your trip 10 years ago.)
Where did you get on the barge and how much will it cost ?
Would we be better off to drive ?

RE: Your favorite RV gadget?

Harbor Freight has some small metal flashlights.
Go to harborfreight.com and search flashlight.
I have been buying these ($1.50 @) and giving them away as prizes in games for years, metal is best.

Looks like it's got a big enough footprint it may even travel without putting it in a cabinet.
Trouble is by October I will have forgotten about it and it will be just a fond memory.

RE: RMP/Zep is gritty - why?

Everytime I changed sections, I changed micro-fiber towels, they are cheap compared to having to strip and correct the grit.
My wife washed and dried the towels before I even started to keep any factory lint away.
Could be overkill but the rig looks great.

RE: Pop tart gun in RV

How about the Mom that made 30 cupcakes so her son could have a birthday party with his class and decorated them with toy plastic solders per her sons request.
The prinspal called the cops and had the little boy arrested because the toy solders were carring guns.

RE: Campgrounds Near Kansas City

We raised our family in KC and spent most of the camping time at Lake Jacomo north of KC.
I have sent the site info.

I now camp in a 40 foot diesel and keep borrowing a tent and going back.

RE: rv.net phishing

I confirmed. It came to the email that I registered here.
Good chance, if it was a scam, they (Hackers) now have information that yours is an active e-mail and can be used.
The hackers send 10s of thousand e-mails in a matter of seconds using your account.

RE: Email fro R.Net

If you respond to what looks like a scam, they know that they have an active e-mail and it's usable. Hackers have ways to copy your e-mail addresses and "Look out" they can send 10s of thousand e-mails in a matter of seconds.
It did not look legit to me.

Help finding site

OK-I need Help
I never realized how big the internet is.
I saw a post, Blog or site about handicap traveling, the one I saw, if I remember was a blog that was written by two ladies that claim they had been to 49 states, they listed the ADA availability for all of the sites they had been to.
They had developed a map of the USA that you could highlight and it would show all the sites they had been to and how easy it was for them to navigate the area.
The map was yellow and the site or Blog was very well made.
I have a number of handicaps that would benefit.

RE: RV EXTENDED SERVICE PLANS ,GOOD OR RIPOFF

In my openion an Extended Warr. is like other insurance you buy, it only takes one incedent to make it pay for its self, most of the time it's like pouring water in the ocean.
I have a 2006 HR and when I bought it the dealer said bumper to bumper,so far I havent had to test it to see if it's good and hope I never have to but for the peace of mind I will keep paying for it.
