RE: Different Hitch ??

If I were going full time with that heavy of a trailer, I'd look into a Trailer Saver or similar air hitch. I have a MorRyde pinbox on my 5er now but from what I understand, the air hitch on the truck works very well to accomplish what you want to do. JMO.

RE: Right turn signal problem

Step on brake or turn 4 way flashers on. If that filament works, there's nothing wrong with the light fixture. I would next look at the trailer 7 way plug or the large junction box where the pigtail goes into the trailer.

RE: looking for switch to change hot water tank to electric

Remember, there are two major brands of water heaters for the RV industry (there may be other minor ones). Suburban and Atwood. Suburban TYPICALLY has one switch on the inside controlling the LP side of things while the switch outside on the WH controls the electric. Atwood USUALLY has a double switch on the inside that controls both with a switch on the outside to disable the electric if desired.

RE: We Took Your Advice Ordered a Dually

Congratulations on the new DRW. We did the same two years ago. I just ordered (yesterday) Fold A Cover G4 Elite bed cover. I may write a review here after I install it.

RE: Leak in roof...what to do?

Patti,
If it were my trailer, I would cut my losses and sell it as is. we did this with a Gulfstream TT and tarded it in and let the dealer fuss with it. I'm sure you don't have time to deal with it and you will not get the money back out of it when you sell it.

RE: tv lift mechanism

Thanks for the update. This is what's RIGHT with American business. The antithesis is why consumers have sought products elsewhere. Today I just got through dealing with a business that sent me the wrong power supply for 12V LED strip lighting I'm putting in a bathroom remodel. I pointed out which one was sent vs which one I ordered. I was then required to take a picture of it and send it to them before they would comment. I'm almost 65 and barely computer literate. Managed to send it and they then told me they were sending a mailing label to send the wrong power supply back to them, THEN they would send me the one they should have sent in the first place! I e-mailed them back and asked them if they considered it right that I had to wait for my transformer because someone in their warehouse messed up my order. They then told me they had gotten authorization to send out my order and when I got the new one I could send the other one back.
My point is that they should have done that in the first place without me having to jump through all those hoops. Sounds like you were taken care of right off the bat. Congrats.

RE: electrical

Water heater element probably burned out. Quite often they will short internally. Don't know why the converter one is popping. I wouldchange out the heater element first.

RE: What can an Avalanche pull?

When we had our Avalanche, we towed a 26' Gulfstream Streamilte no slides. Don't know the weight but it towed it well. Syracuse to Myrtle beach and Syracuse to Pittsburgh & all over NY state.

RE: Pin Box Weight

I was able to handle my lippert pin box myself though I did use a floor jack to lower it (didn't know how much it weighed). After I got it off, I was able to carry & move it by myself. The MorRyde pin box was another story however. Needed my tractor & bucket loader to move it and get it into position. Also did the pivot thing putting it on.

RE: Anyone use the Surco 501br ladder bike carrier ?

I don't think I would want to put 25 pounds on my ladder, then drive down the road, with that load trying to detach the ladder from the RV.
My ladder might not be bolted onto as strong as frame as yours. Mine has 6 screws into the metal framework in my RV sidewall and roof.
It is not really well attached to the RV.
Even a hitch mounted bike rack can flex the steel mount - and that is 1/4" thick steel.
Fred.

RE: New TT battery box full of water

Every TT I've had, I've drilled holes. The amount of acid leaking from these batteries is small. Agree with the person who posted that motor vehicles do not use sealed battery boxes and they do fine. The RV boxes were designed for marine use and do more to hold water in than protect from acid effects. This is just one person's opinion.
