Solar is on...What should I use to secure the cables?

Alright, I have my (2) 130 panels on. What is the best way to secure the cables to the roof? I don't want to drill in anymore holes if I don't have to.
Option 1 - Eternalbond? Best choice but seems awfully expensive as I am not trying to fix a leak.
Option 2 - Quick Roof (the aluminum backed stuff) was suggested by the local RV supply shop. The only problem is it says not for rubber roofs, which I have. Would this be fine if it doesn't actually have to seal anything?
Option 3 - Drill in cable clamps every foot or so...
I have about an 11 foot run that will need to be secured to the rubber roof. Any other options?
Thanks!!

RE: Solar Power

Do you already have an inverter?
If you plan on Microwave and Coffee Pot use, your gonna need a good inverter and it would be smart to add more batteries or you will drain your bank pretty quick. Right now I have (6)6v and (2) 130 panels and still always run the gen for the microwave.
120w panel would probably get you close for average use. Under perfect conditions you will be getting about 10a out of it. In reality you might see 5-8a. To get them charged, go with (2) 120s.
You will need a charge controller. Like most chargers, there are some cheaper than others.
If you have room it would help to add another pair of 6v to give you some buffer in case you use more power one day than others.
Sunelec.com has some 130w panels at great prices, they sell out pretty quick.

RE: How do you get the Fifth wheel hitch out of your truck ?

I use the B&W as well. I have removed and reinstalled on another truck in 5 min. fairly easily.

RE: Wheel Chocks??

If we are talking about the toys being cruisers, I use Condor wheel chocks for both our Harley big twins.
Condor Wheel Chocks
They do make a few versions, we use the trailer/floor version so I can use them in the garage as well.

RE: capacity of 12' garage?

We have done 6 big bikes fairly easily. Normally I carry a wide long travel quad, 2 big bikes, and 2 Klx110s with plenty of room to spare for another mini or 2.

RE: New tires for the tow vehicle

Look into the Hankook RF10s. I was a not sure about them at first, but after reading a lot of good reviews I decided to try them on my dually.
I am really impressed. Great tire at a decent price and in an E rating.

RE: WW FS2300 rides too low

When I "flipped" my axles on our FS2500 it lifed about 5". Dexter sells a bolt on kit that I used but still fully welded the new perches on.
You will have to get a double step but I had no other issues.

RE: water/dump in mammoth

There's water, but no dump station, at the rest area just about 1 mile south of Glass Creek.
Yup and its free. There are 2 or 3 red faucets around the parking lot to use.
Dump at New Shady Rest campground just as your getting into town on the right. 7 bucks. Or across the from there at Mammoth RV park, I think they charge $10 but it is a little easier to get into for large rigs.
If your looking to get on the road and not have to go back into town there are a few dumps in Bishop. The Shell at the south end of is pretty easy.

RE: 2- 6 volt batteries install help

Connect the (+) lead to the (+) of one battery. Connect the (-) lead to the (-) of the OTHER battery. Connect the 2 un-used battery terminals (+ and -) together using cable.

RE: Best removable wheel chocks..

Been using Condors for both the wife and I's big twins. I like them because I can use them out of the trailer as well. No problems, money well spent.

RE: Current Going Rate for Weekend Warrior FS2500

Even with some of the headaches we had with our FS2500, we still really miss it. We moved up to a CL40 5th, but the superlight had a great layout in a small package.
I think the dealer price of 25k OTD isnt too bad if they include an extended warr. but I would think you may be able knock a little more off. All dealers selling a "new" unit are going to be hard to deal with. Most of the units that we dirt cheap seemed to have already moved out. When we bought our loaded 07, we paid 28.5k otd.
Also double check on the Onan 5500. I thought they only had the 4k in them. Mine certainly did not have the room for a 5.5k. That may be a bargaing point.

RE: CA Non-Commercial Class A Test

one more question. Is the backing into the spot have to be one fluid motion or can you straighten out if you get alittle off and then back in the rest of the way?
You can stop, but cannot get out. You can pull forward but will loose a point each time you do.

RE: Transmaster Tires....Any Good?

I had them stock on our WW as well. I had noticed some cracking recently as well (trailer sat on a lot in MN for 2yrs). Never had any failures but I was going to replace them with something different. Ended up getting them covered under warranty, even though they were more than 18mo past with no questions! If I was on a budget I would buy them again.

RE: Heads up- Get your Class A non-commercial

I finally got my Noncom A yesterday at the Fullerton office.
Pretty easy if you study for pre-trip. The skill were easy as well. You can miss soooo many points and still pass.
They did not ask for a licensed driver to be present nor did they check if the trailer was at the required weight. The examiner really did'nt seem to know much about RVs.
My good laugh of the day was watching a semi return from the drive portion, they parked, the driver and examiner got out and shook hands right next to the car they parked next too. They started to walk into the building as it was apparent he had passed. Except neither noticed that when they pulled in the trailer clipped the parked car, destroying it from the B pillar back on one side! The owner was actually a DMV employee who liked to park her car in the test area because there was shade...
The accident held me up for at least an hour. As everyone had to see the result. I was even retelling the story inside since there were only a few witnesses.
How many points did that cost him? Did he still pass?
They ended up failing him! The driving school or company he was with had to come down and pick up the truck. It sucks for him because he made it until the end, but since the paper was'nt finalized he failed. The examiners also pointed out the telephone pole by the exit which apparently every hits...
