RE: Picking up new Cougar 333MKS 5th wheel tomorrow

Same here. Went from an 18' TT to a 36' fiver TH. First thing I noticed is the difference in the way it tracks behind your TV. Take it slow, especially when turning and backing.

RE: Puma unleashed 356

We have a 2012 Puma 356. We did a lot of research before our purchase and this unit offered the most bang for the buck. Fully equipped with every option including a 4k genny was about 37k, around 10k less that some comparable units we looked at. Like lawnspecialties said, width wise they are a bit narrow but we are able to fit our Honda Rancher quads in side by side with only a few inches to spare. We have had it for about a year and have had some minor issues but overall we are very happy with it, I think you will be too.

RE: So where did you dry camp today?

Our spot on Magnolia Beach, Texas recently. Fishing was lousy but we didn't care. Hardly anyone out there when we were there. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v698/grooveman/magnolia.jpg

RE: B&W Patriot 5th wheel hitch questions

Ditto. Just replaced my Reese 15k with the B&W Companion. First pull with it today, no comparison.

RE: How To Bring A US Made 5er Back Into The US From Canada?

If the vehicle has Canadian registration/Title, you must get the appropriate import paperwork at the border or you will NOT be able to register it in the United States. Instructions/info at this link. This information applies to the importation of motor vehicles, in the OP's case it's a trailer, which was manufactured in the U.S. This does not apply.

RE: New tailgate + camera??

One place I found was camera-source.com. I emailed them and was told they could fabricate something for me that would attach to my Custom Flow tailgate and plug into the OEM harness. Haven't gotten a price for it yet though..

RE: Verizon cell phones in Canada

I am from the U.S. and am on a temporary assignment in Canada. We have the Verizon North America plan which gives you voice roaming in Canada without additional fees. Data roaming is a different story, we didn't purchase a data plan because the cost would be prohibitive for us.

RE: another customs question

There is always a lot of speculation from a lot of people who have crossed the border about what information is available and from what sources. In the end you'll get many answers from many different people on this subject. No one really knows for sure except the people who work for CBP or CBSA at some level. ;)

RE: Tailgate replacement ideas pleas

I have the custom flow tailgate on my F350. Looks good and I like being able to hitch and unhitch without lowering the tailgate.

RE: another customs question

Plate readers just provide registration info on the vehicle, nothing more. The face recognition comes from the Officer comparing the passport photos to the individual. Not from the cameras as a lot of people seem to think. As far as the OP's question, the crossing history information is there if the Officer want's it.

RE: Who drives a F-350 as their sole vehicle and likes it?

It's not our sole vehicle but I drive my F350 diesel to work most days, about 12 miles each way. Only complaint I have is parking it. Seems like parking spaces are getting smaller, but I suppose it's just that my vehicles keep getting bigger. If I didn't need the diesel for towing I would go back to an F150 in a heartbeat. But as it is, the truck works well for me as a daily driver. Even in the cold climate.

RE: 6.7 Powerstrokes!

I had a 2011 F350 Powerstroke XLT and drove it for about 35k miles before deciding to trade up to a 2012 Lariat with the 6.7. Both trucks have performed flawlessly, not a bit of trouble with either one.

RE: Reese Pro 15k economy hitch

I had one, worked great for me.

RE: Montana/Alberta Broder Crossing

Wildhorse gets maybe 20-30 vehicles a day and not much truck traffic. Should be easy crossing back into the U.S. through there. I spent lot's of time there a few Summers ago. Havre is south of there and has lots of restaurants, an RV dealership (where we bought ours, good people!) They also have a Wal Mart and of course, lots of bars and Casinos!

RE: Reese 15k Pro Series hitch

I got that same hitch as a freebie when I bought my new TH last year, and it has served me pretty well so far. I am planning on getting the B&W Companion hitch next week with my new truck. I think it will be a big improvement over what I have now.

RE: Mount Rushmore to Calgary

There is no lake to speak of, more of a large weedy pond really. The campground has hookups and is ok for a stopover. Payment is on the honor system I think it was around $15 a night when we went through there.

RE: Open vs closed garage area

We also have a seperate garage in our TH. It works out well for us when we haul our quads, and when we don't take them lots of space to secure items like camp stoves, ice chests etc when we are away from the campsite. Biggest reason why we got it is because that's what the Wife wanted.

RE: Why Do McDonald’s Burgers Look Different in Ads ?

Wife and I were talking about this last night when a commercial for Red Lobster came on. The lobster tails that you actually get may be about half the size of the ones shown in the commercial. As for sending food back, I never do it either, unless something is really wrong with it.
