RE: Question on chassis to house charging circuit

There is no doubt that your Newmar has a system for charging your house batteries from the alternator. All modern coaches have a system of one type or another.
Most common system is a battery isolator system where the alternator positive goes into a brick shaped isolator and outputs to both house and chassis batteries.
Another system is to run output to the chassis battery and a heavy duty solenoid connects the house and chassis systems.
These battery cables will be at least 2/0 size. Mine are 4/0. They are capable of carrying very heavy current. Your alternator is probably 160 amps so the cables must be capable of supporting that current.

RE: New class a dash ac only moderate cooling

At 85 degrees the dash A/C should keep the driver and passenger comfy. I suspect that you are getting heat from heater core. I suggest that your dealer can fix that but you might want to put a clamp on the hot water supply to the heater box.
For perspective. I have a 42 foot coach with a 19K BTU A/C in the dash and a 13.5 K BTU over the road evaporator in the bedroom. At 85 and humid the front is comfortable with just the dash unit on. It will blow a lot of air at 47 degrees.
If it gets much warmer we'll turn on the bedroom evap. The wife complains that is too cold even when ambient is 100. Theses things really do work when designed, manufactured and maintained properly.
Good luck with this problem.

RE: aqua hot / hydro hot floor heating

On Country Coach models with heated floor option the Hydrohot or Aquahot is unrelated. The floor heat is electric resistance. It is available only when 120VAC is present.

RE: New to pushers please advise

I had a '99 30' Safari. I think that if you plan on long trips with coach you will be unhappy with the handling. The front is very light and the advice to keep full with fuel and water is good. But the the coach is a handful even then.
Don't think you can add any kind of weight on the hitch. That will just make the front even lighter. You can tow a vehicle on but not a trailer.
The coach is a rocket ship. You'll get decent mileage. It may be on leaf springs if it is a Sahara.
For the right usage this is a great little coach. It will go anywhere and climb like a mountain goat. But it is a compromise.
Good luck and let us know what you decide.

RE: Hydro hot problems

Lucky you are not. Trainer has hit the nail on the head. Your fresh water coil has failed inside the unit probably due to inadequate winterization.

RE: Onan Quiet 8000 diesel generator service

Larry, I had 1,600+ on the 8K in my '04 Allure when I sold it. Still had original belt and all sensors. Only work on that unit was filters and fluids. Only failure I ever had was at about 6 years old the fuel lines needed replacement.

RE: What does it take to go Inverter From Converter

With the converter you have 120VAC in and light wiring for 12VDC out. You may also have a distribution box for each of those built into the same box.
With an inverter/charger you need heavy 12VDC in/out, 120VAC in and 120VAC out. You also will need a separate distribution box for each of those.

RE: ISL Sweet Spot

Cummins recommends to OEMs that they gear it to achieve cruising speed at 1,650 RPMs. They think that 1,650 is the sweet spot for a balanced economy/performance system.

RE: age of driver

My dad came to me at age 83 and said he was uncertain if he should keep driving and wanted my opinion. His car lease was about to expire and he wondered if he should plan on getting a new car. I suggested that we take a drive with him behind the wheel. At the end of the drive I would give him my opinion.
He agreed. We took the drive. I offered him three specific areas where I thought he had problems and that left him a moderate danger to others. He thought about it for a few minutes and said that he would have the dealer come and get the car on Monday. He did. He never spoke with regret about it even though he lived another 10 years.
Everyone should have a dad like mine.

RE: Tire Size???

The '04 Allure that I had came from the factory with Toyo 12R22.5 all around. My current '03 Magna came with 315X80R22.5 up front and 12R22.5 on drive and tag. Also Toyos.

RE: Cherokee Vs. Wranger Jeep

Wranglers are easy to tow with all four wheels on the ground. Grand Cherokees with automatic transmissions are not.
What are you talking about? My Grand Cherokee 4WD is perfectly towable on all four.

RE: Radiator issues

It depends on when your coach was built. I bought 2004 Allure build number 31038 new. I put 120,000 miles on it. It had the copper and steel bolt together radiator. I never had a problem with the radiator. Just look for bolts on the end tanks. If you have them you are good to go.
