RE: Microwaves and Inverter Matching Question

My understanding is that AGM batteries are not suseptable to charging with with the higher voltages output from alternators (13.2 V I believe.) Is this not the case?

RE: Mueller State Park Colorado Pictures ?

Site 41 is my favorite site there. Good sized pull-thru. Don't know when your going, but make your reservation as far in advance as you can. Might find something during the week, but weekends will likely be a problem. Mueller is pretty much filled up every weekend in the summer.

RE: ALIGNING A 5LNB SATELLITE DISH

Align-A-Site's are $170.00 at Camping World right now. I've seen then for less. No doubt with practice you can aim your dish without an Align-A-Site, but if you happen to be new at aiming a dish the Align-A-Site sure makes it easier. Is it worth the $170.00? Certainly a matter of opinion and in my opinion it is. I have used it for both Dish and DirecTV. I works well for both. I haven't tried the Slimline yet so can't speak to that. While the "popsicle stick" might help, if you are new at this an Align-A-Site might just be a good investment!

RE: DirecTV HD Receiver question

Not to get anything started here, but it's my experience that DirecTV has some quality issues, especially with their HD receivers and HD DVR's. I'm on my third HD DVR. This one works real well, only needing an occasional restart.

RE: Need idea for building a satelite dish stand?

I built my own satellite tripod out of a transit tripod. It is very stable in the wind and is also easy to level, which is critacal to quickly finding the satellite when setting up. Total cost was something like 80 dollars. The antenna I got on freecycle.com Here is mine: http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h201/cimriver/satellite-stand.gif

RE: Colorado in March / April?

Mueller will be open. As mentioned before they keep some sites open year round. No reservations though, but you shouldn't have a problem finding an empty camp site. Remember Mueller is about 9200 feet. We camped there one January weekend. It was beautiful, but the 10" of snwe made things interesting when we pulled out.

RE: Yamaha Gen stalls

The spark arrestor may be plugged. My brother-in-law had the same issue. He took in for repair. Their fix was basically to remove the spark arrestor. Works fine now.

RE: Word Processing softare

Open Office is my choice. I have never had compatibility issues with Microsoft Office users as long as I save it in the right format.

RE: Boondocking - Yellowstone or Glacier?

Keep in mind, solitude and animals... It's gonna be pretty hard to pull off the solitude part in a National Park, especially one like Yellowstone that has so many visitors every year. May is pretty early in the Rocky Mountain west, especially as far north as Yellowstone or Glacier. If you go that time of year you are likely going to see some snow. If not this trip perhaps on another one, consider going to one of the other great Nation Forest's or state parks in one of the Rocky Mountain states. Colorado and Utah are two of my favorites and have lots of opportunity for boondocking.
