Need some maintenance advice

I am preparing to repack my bearings for the first time. This will also be the first time I do this job on a tandem axle trailer. Where/How do I jack up the trailer? I would like to get one side off the ground so I can do two wheels at a time.

Tires for TV

I have a 2011 Chevy Silverado 3500 SRW. I have just over 23,000 miles on it, 7500 of those miles were put on last summer's trip out West. The tires are now cooked and ready for replacement. The trip out West really burned some rubber (especially the rears). The OEM tires were GY Wrangler SRA. Should I replace the tires with new GY or is their something else out there that wears better?

I hate mice!!

I am not sure if this subject belongs in this forum, but I just had to put it out there. I HATE MICE!!!!. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, all the entry points closed, and almost thru with winter, I find some "remnants" of mice inside my trailer today. Damn those pesky beasts!!

Rocky Mtn NP Camping

Ok, I have started to break down my summer vacation. My first stop will be Rocky Mountain NP. I would appreciate any info/recommendations on campgrounds near the NP. We are planning on staying 6-7 nights. Hookups are required, not necessarily FH. Once I get this stop taken care of, I will work on the next stops. Thanks in advance. Trying to find a nice campground is overwhelming and I appreciate all of your inputs.

RE: Colorado?

Oh yeah and BTW, we have two daughters (11 & 14). We enjoy hiking, biking, and pretty much anything outdoorsy. We usually shoot for State Campgrounds first, then go private. My girls really enjoy all the Ranger programs that State Parks provide, always a lot of stuff to do.

RE: Colorado?

Sorry about being so vague, I was in a hurry. I am debating changing my summer vacation plans. Last year we spent two months touring the West. This years original plans were to head out to Maine and cruise down the coast a little bit. I am having trouble getting excited about that trip after being spoiled with seeing the West and also knowing that we missed the entire state of Colorado. I will have about 3-4 weeks to spend in Colorado during the month of July. I will definitely be going to Rocky Mtn NP. Any other ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Need recommendations for where to stay

I am trying to find some nice campgrounds to stay at on our summer vacation. We are planning on staying somewhere in the Bar Harbor, Maine area and also in the Boston/Cape Cod areas. Thanks for all recommendations.

RE: Storing Fifthwheel Hitch for the winter

I store my Companion in the garage. I set it on top of an old automotive "Creeper", that makes it easy to move the hitch back and forth from the truck and I can move it around in the garage if I have to.

Tire rotation?

I have had my 5er now for little over a year. I have approx. 7000 miles on it. Should I be rotating my tires? I do have dual axles. I am in the process of determining the location of a slow leak in one of the tires and was thinking about tire rotation while I got the jacks out. Hopefully, I won't need a new tire(s), that is a whole new post and topic to research. Oh, btw, if I do rotate, what is the pattern?......thx

RE: Pin box hitting bed rail

I have the exact same trailer and the exact same problem. I have not actually hit the bed rails because my tonneau cover rails are mounted inside the bed. I have raked that fiberglass cover against those rails quite a few times so much so that some of the mounting screws holding the cover on have ripped out. I have thought about just trimming the cover a little higher to give me some more turning radius but I have not done it yet. I have adjusted my backing and turning skills so as not to "crunch" it anymore. Love the trailer though....just finished a 7 week out west trip!

RE: Chaparral 322rlts info\opinions

We have a 2012 330FBH..and we love it. We had a few minor problems with at first (as do most RV's)...the dealer and Coachmen took care of them right away

Overnight camping directory?

Does anyone know of a directory or website that would help me find campgrounds near expressways that cater the one-night camper?
