RE: Travel Trailer

Just picked new Artic Fox 30U. Headed out on Tue for shake down run to eastern WA on the river. Hope to be better than last RV, Forest River product.
I don't know anything about the"Artic Fox 30U"..but I do know a lot about the "Forest River products"...in fact I have been banned from the Forest River form for telling the truth about their products...hope you enjoy your new trailer.

Tires

I have a question about tire wear on the set of tires that came on my new trailer. I feel the tires are the cheapest tire that can be made in China, the problem I am seeing is...one tire is worn down to 6/32 tread depth & the inside & outside of the tread area has worn down to appear rounded off, like a motorcycle tire...the other 3 tires are wearing flat & have 10/32 tread depth...all the tires have TPMS on them & Centurmatic tire balance system, so I know this wasn't caused by low air pressure or begin out of balance....I am going to remove the worn tire & put the spare on in it's place, & just use the worn tire for a spare....has anyone else had this happen?...thanks

RE: NASCAR at Darlington

Just got bad news for Darlington, I won't be attending as they don't allow pets anywhere on the property. First track I have had to deal with that issue.
Yea, this statement from NASCAR is real smart..since they are having trouble filling the track stands now...turn away a paying customer because he has a pet...I wonder if this rule is also for the drivers pets in their motor homes in the infield???

Where will you be coming from, and going to? There maybe some routes for you around Atlanta.

RE: Storing Power Cord

The pickup bed is full of motorcycle and the Rampage lift...not enough room for the cord...plus my cord doesn't roll up easy, it is very hard to bend.

Storing Power Cord

Where do most of you folks store your power cord, when traveling? My TT has a spot under the bed, but it is a pain to get the 50 amp cord in that small space, with the small door on the side of the trailer.

RE: Carefree Resorts - Pelican RV - Grassy Key

This sounds like the Stone Bridge Park in Maggie Valley, was once a great park but now it would need help to come to the grade of a dump.

RE: Tires

My question still stands on whether I am better to keep the better pair in the front of the truck or not.
Always keep your best tires on the rear, a rear tire blow out is much worst than a front tire blow out...in most cases a rear tire blow out with try to spin you around, where in most cases a front tire blow out will try to pull the truck into the direction of the tire that blew out.

RE: Buying new

After you have found the TT of your choice "inspect it" inside & out, then inspect it again, and be very picky about anything that isn't right, then have the selling dealer fix what you have found wrong, "BEFORE" you sign the final papers, and drive off with the TT...trust me this will save you time & money later on.

RE: Tires

I would rotate the front tires to the rear, in order to get even tire wear..it isn't unusual for the rear tires to wear faster than the fronts, due to the rear axle being the pull wheels..

RE: Delivery driver tip ?

Sadly. No one tips me for doing my job. And a bunch of you are driving cars, and trucks, I built part of the driveline for.
I agree with you, over the last 25 years of my job I delivered over 3,200 cars & pick-up trucks each year, and I didn't even get a "Thank You" from the dealer that was selling the unit...

RE: Nicest/best built 5th Wheels??

don't want a bunch particle board and poorly constructed junk. Any thoughts please.
Please..Please..don't even consider anything made by "Forest River" I was taken to the cleaners by "Forest River" when I brought a new 2012 "323FK Sierra" built by "Forest River".

Could you tell me the start & end of FL70? I thought I had been most FL State Roads, but I must have missed this one, it may come in handy in the future.

RE: Sarasota FL to Melbourne FL

That's hard to answer the interstate is the easy way to go...BUT...if or when they have a wreck on the big road you may sit for awhile...the back roads are going to have a lot of traffic lights with a lot of stop & go traffic & people pulling out in front of you...if I was doing the trip I would use the interstate, and if there was trouble on the intestate, I would then use a back road to get around the trouble spot...drive safe

RE: Uncomfortable Pulling Trailer

Up date on my towing problem, the trouble was the hitch was not set up right by the selling dealer. The repair required the ball to be raised up 4" & resetting the L-brackets for the WD bars up 2 holes...these changes made all the different in the world of pulling the trailer with the Goldwing loaded in the pick-up.
