RE: New class a dash ac only moderate cooling

85+ then I run dash, generator and roof AC's. I think it's an "A" thing. Lots of area to cool when it's that warm out.
Have heard of people hanging a make shift curtain behind the front seats but have never done that myself.
Happy Camping!

RE: Water leak only when connected and using city water..

Regulator is one of the metal ones, in line, I think I picked it up at CW.
Water compartment is the one door under my unit which is designated "water works" by coachmen. Everything associated with water is in this one basement compartment. Intake connection, black tank rinse, valves to choose what I am doing, dump valve, outside shower, external pump switch.
I think I am going to have to remove all of the knobs and the inside wall of this thing to track where the leak is coming from. Just could not figure out why a leak ONLY when using city water. Maybe the intake to my water tank doesn't use the same line. I do have to configure the valves differently, maybe that reroutes to a different set of plumbing going into the tank.
Thanks everyone!
I will post what I find when I find it.

Water leak only when connected and using city water..

When I hook up to city water and open the city faucet, I have a good leak from my water compartment.
No leak when filling or using from my water tank, only when using city water.
I have not yet removed the cover to get inside but has anyone ever come across this problem?
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

RE: Others opinion regarding stowing spare tire

Got stuck once in S. GA. early on a Sunday morning. The one guy that had the size I needed wanted $975.00 for a tire + roadside install. I took off my van that I was towing and drove an hour and a half north, purchased a tire for less than a forth of what the first guy was asking. Brought it back to the MH and then had road side service come change it.
Took all day and was finally back on the road by 1130pm.
I carry a spare in the toad now. Used it once at 1000pm, roadside assistance there within 45 minutes and I was back on the road in less than 45 minutes.
Counting my blessings that I haven't needed one since.

RE: I have no 12 volts system not working

May be the battery cut off relay has failed. Very common. You have power when hooked to shore power or generator running, then nothing when you are running off the batteries.

RE: Air conditioner quit working on 2013 Mirada 34 BH

Glad you found out that the AC is covered under warranty. We always carry a couple of the little ceramic heaters and use them when connected to shore power to save on LP gas.
You can call Coachmen and see if they will do anything.
When our Marada was new, I had an issue where there were small cracks in the fiberglass on the front cap. Dealer repaired the ones which were above the floor line level. But would not do anything about the ones on the lower area of the cap.
I felt that it should be covered. Contacted Coachmen and spoke with several people and they all stated that this was normal with fiberglass and that it would not be covered as it was "surface cracks" or something like that.
This one thing made my decision to not purchase another Coachmen product. We do enjoy our Mirada and it has served us very well.
My selling dealer still contacts me from time to time and I may one day purchase another unit, but I will think twice before Coachmen just because of this.
Hopefully you will have better luck.

RE: Highlands Hammock - A Florida State Park

We love Highlands Hammock too!
Have they reopened the restaurant by chance? They used to have all you can eat fish fries on Fridays. We really missed that the last time there. Kids loved the bug collection at the ranger station/entrance.
We too love all of the Florida State Parks that we have tried. Also some nice COE camps too.
Maybe we should get together a group of us here on RV.net who camp in Florida. That would be neat.
Look for my RVnet decal in the back window of my MH and say Hi!

RE: windshield wipers

My wipers are hung from the top of the cap over the windshield.
Shortly after I got the unit seems there was some problem with them. Had to reach up into the cap and tighten the nuts that hold each wiper arm onto the cap. It was a two person job as someone had to hold the nut on the outside as I tightened the larger nut on the inside. Very awkward to get to on the inside.
Don't know if this is the same problem that you were having but thought it may help.

RE: Air conditioner quit working on 2013 Mirada 34 BH

Were you connected to 50 amp power or running generator?
One can run the rear AC on these units with less than 50amps, but not the front unit as it is a larger unit.
Also, have you been exercising your generator and AC's every month when not using them? Let us know how things turn out.

RE: Need Miami Fl RV park advice

We have only camped at one place in Miami. It was full of snowbirds when we went, so depending on time of year you may be with a lot of people or just with a few. One couple I met has stayed the winters here at the very same site for 27 years.
Nothing fancy but nice enough for a few days stay while visiting the area. Larry and Penny Thompson Park

RE: Tennessee State Parks

Here is a link to the TN State Parks Reservation site. Tennessee State Parks
It appears to work much like Reserve America, even with photos of each site.
I think that this will be a great benefit. I always hated to arrive there to learn that the campground was full.

RE: Class A Gas Auto Levelers

Mine always go all 4 down, then adjust. If I am at a site where it lifts the front wheels off the ground, I will ask for a more level site. If not available, I have some 2x10's to use to ramp up on. I just like having wheels on something solid even with jacks down.
Did the jacks work when they did their pre delivery inspection?
Please post the results of speaking with the dealership.

Sea World Orlando? Is there room to park for the day?

Have never visited Sea World Orlando and thinking of going just for the day as we go through Orlando.
Is there ample space in their parking lot to park my Class A MH?
I do know at Disney that they can accommodate us but wanted to ask those who have been there.
Thanks for any reply.

RE: Another reason to RV and not hotel

Not to mention the overnight meth labs that are happening in hotel/motel rooms across our country.Oh the things you hear about on here. Like I would even consider staying at a motel where that would even be possible.
You would be shocked to learn some of the names, not run down skid row places. Places where families frequent.
I'm glad I take my own bed.

RE: Another reason to RV and not hotel

Not to mention the overnight meth labs that are happening in hotel/motel rooms across our country.
They come in late, cook up a batch, contaminate the whole place, then are out by morning.
That leftover residue is not good for you, the next person who rents the room....Bio Hazard?

RE: RV Park in or Around Disney world, Florida

If you ever get to the Fort and the site they give you just doesn't work, call the front desk at the campground and if available they will assign you a different site.
We have had this happen a couple of times over the years and they were always more than happy to give us a different site. Both times the new site was so much better than the first one we were at.
Also, check back every day if they are full as people cancel all the time. One heck of a business they have, one would think that their stock would be booming.

RE: RV Park in or Around Disney world, Florida

Fort Wilderness is fun and as with Disney a bit costly. You can reserve on line and everyone will be happy. Transportation to/from the parks included.
There are many off site parks within about a 15 minute ride from Disney.
KOA Kissimmee and Theme World(Passport America) at Davenport, are both good clean parks that we have had only positive experiences at.
I won't list the other ones that we have visited to only say we won't go back.
If you want less frills, Lake Louisa State Park is about 30 minutes or so away and will run less than $30 a night.
Remember when comparing cost with Ft. Wilderness, when you stay there you do not have any parking fees. If you are off site then you will pay $14 for parking your car and I think $15 for camper, per day.
One park we will never stay at again advertises both main gate and a free bus to the gate. Well, they are not main gate and the last bus I saw from there I would be afraid to get on. Shabby.
Good luck and have fun!

RE: Tow dollie use for dinghy

On my second dolly and we like the option of taking either our car or van with us. At campsites it stays under the rear of the MH. At home I pull the MH up over the front of the dolly for storage.
Check on craigslist, I got my current one for $500 from a fellow who purchased it new and had used it only once in 9 months. Then sold my old one for what I had give for it a few years earlier. If you find a deal grab it as they go fast on CL.
For us it was a dollar thing. I still work part time and we still have 3 at home that home school.

RE: Finding it increasingly difficult to park overnight

Sure would be a neat ministery if churches would jump on this and invite people to stay a night at the edge of their parking lots. Limit it to one night and welcome them.
Maybe those who stay could make a donation or help with a chore around the grounds. Sweeping, picking up around the property. Little things that do help.
Hmmmm.... May be an idea to be spread around to our churches.
