RE: 4 out of 5 wasps prefer Dodge

I'm sure glad it only took me a screwdriver to clear out the nests.
You guys are too funny.

RE: 3.73 vs 4.10

I decided to go all the way and got the Cummins, 3500 SRW. Now I have a whole new world to learn.

RE: Any significant 2009 Dodge mid-year changes?

Yes, it was sold many years ago for nothing compared to what they are worth now. I do miss the torque of those big-block gassers of old (I had a '69 383 Charger as well).

I looked at that boat at the boat show when I lived in California last year. Very nice package.

RE: 3.73 vs 4.10

Thanks everyone. I went ahead and got the truck; I stuck with the 3.73 as that's what everything on the lots has, and am pretty happy with it.

RE: 4 out of 5 wasps prefer Dodge

Hmmm!
4 out of 5 wasps prefer Dodges??? Seems about right as 4 out of 5 new truck buyers do not buy Dodges. Maybe it's because 4 out of 5 new truck purchasers don't want to get stung twice. haha
I gotta hand it to you for that one!

Thanks very much for the info. I don't plan in chipping it anyway but sometimes there are desirable mods. I'll check out the diesel forums.

RE: Any significant 2009 Dodge mid-year changes?

OK play nice ...
The other issue with the old truck is that it has sat for a long time without being started. IMO a car ought to be run at least once a month. Should I be overly concerned?
I do wish they had an integrated brake controller. I don't know why it's taken so long.

Try leaving a window open a crack!
Yeah, I used to always in the summer, but not any more!

RE: Any significant 2009 Dodge mid-year changes?

How many miles are on the truck shipped in December? Low like under 100 miles or has it been used by the sales weinies for weekend fun time, with much more miles? Reason I ask, I was given a great deal on a F-350 that had been on the lot for about 8 months with quite a few miles for an unsold vehicle. Upon looking underneath, it was quite apparent the truck had been driven off pavement. Passed on that one.
Thanks for the tip though, I didn't think about that. I'll look underneath, but the old truck has 190 miles and was traded from a dealer about that distance away, so it doesn't appear to have anything but transfer miles.
Yeah, I'll have to think about my username, but I actually didn't take it from my current truck, but rather from the Plymouth Roadrunner I had many years ago. My friends gave me the nickname then.

RE: Truck rebates

Turns out one of the advertised specials was exactly what I wanted, and it's significantly below invoice in addition to the rebate. Of course, that doesn't mean Dodge won't up the rebates next month ...

RE: TruControl current compensation

That actually looks like a good option, but it doesn't sound like it's available right now. I'd rather not tap into the hydraulics, but I sure don't like the prodigy I have, although it's not near as bad on my lighter trailer.

TruControl current compensation

The Hensley TruControl has this "current compensation" feature that increases current as the brakes heat up as the resistance of electric brakes goes down as they heat up. It seems like Hensley has a valid point, no?
Although I plan on getting a maxbrake or brakesmart, it seems that the standard controllers could do a lot better if they incorporated speed into their calculations; wouldn't this be easy to do by plugging into the OBD port?

4 out of 5 wasps prefer Dodge

I have so far found 4 wasp nests on my truck -- one in each outside rearview mirror, one inside the gas fill door, and one underneath the outside front lip of the bed. Where next?

Any significant 2009 Dodge mid-year changes?

OK, so I'm going to get a 2009 Dodge 3500 SRW Cummins. There are two in my area equipped the way I want. One is fresh off the truck, the other was shipped last December. Although I prefer something that hasn't sat out in the weather that long, the older one can be had for quite a bit less than the newer one. Were there any significant mid-year changes?
Thanks.

RE: Truck rebates

Looks like you got a fantastic deal, significantly below invoice I think. The $7500 is a mfg rebate which is in addition to whatever you can negotiate, so actual purchase price would be less.
