Dog friendly accommodations in Hannibal, MO

Good Afternoon All,
It looks as though our trailer will not be out of the shop for our trip next week. We will be driving south along the Mississippi from WI through AR.
We were planning on stopping in Hannibal, MO for a couple days.
Does anyone know of a pet-friendly B&B in the area? Our second choice would be a hotel.

RE: Geico

Thank you all for your replies.
We have been with an insurance company for 20 years and we had our first very minor fender bender and they did not treat us well. When the renewal came I decided to look into other companies and Geico is substantially less for the same coverage. So, since we don't know anyone personally I thought this community could help.
Happy travels!

Geico

Hi everyone,
I'm sorry this is NOT directly concerning our travel trailer. However, I need your experience!!
Does anyone have this insurance for your auto and/or your rv? We are up for renewal and this company is sooooo much less that I wonder why. So, do you have it for both and if so how has your dealings with the company gone? Claims, ect. Do their rates skyrocket after you first renewal or claim?
Thank you for any information you might have. I am a bit skeptical.

RE: Arkansas Highway 82 east/west

Thank you for the information Roy. It sounds like we will not find many established campgrounds on 82.

RE: Arkansas Highway 82 east/west

Thank you for your responses. We were considering 82 because we will be coming from Atlamta state park and 82 looked like a somewhat straight shot to the Mississippi River area and we thought we'd like to see the drive along the Mississippi River.
We prefer state highways to interstates since we tend to drive around 60 and find the semis really blow past us. However, I will relook at those interstates.
Sdianel, is there anything we should stop to see on 51 going to Memphis?

Arkansas Highway 82 east/west

Hello all,
Can anyone advise us on this highway through AR to Mississippi 51 north through Memphis?
Is it a good option to cross AR on the south?
Thank you for any information you can share.

West End RV in Weatherford, TX

Hello all,
We are heading toward this Passport America park and there has not been a review in the rvpark reviews website in a long time so I'm hoping someone has been here within the last year or so and can tell me if it is a good park for a stopover.
Thank you for all your help!!!

Spring training in AZ-park suggestions

Hello everyone,
We are looking to go to AZ for spring training this year and are looking for a park in the NW area. We will be attending games in Surprise.
We need full hook ups and a pool would be welcomed. We will be traveling with our "under twenty pound" dog. So, two persons over 55 and one small pet.
Any suggestions for us to look into. Most parks seem to offer too much!

RE: Lake Ray Roberts-Johnson Branch

Hi,
We go to this campground as frequently as we can.
The sites are fairly level and easy to get into. You can get shade, sun and some waterfront if you are lucky. I find the facilities to generally clean and with all showers and toilets working and stocked.
There is fishing and a lot of walking/biking trails. Sites are nicely spaced so you are not too close to your neighbor. It is a relaxing park.

RE: Traveling to Acadia and Cape Cod with dog?

Hi,
We just returned from Acadia last week and used a B and B , Canterbury Cottage, and they allow dogs! Both the other couples there when we were had dogs. They have two "house" dogs, a lab and a poodle/schnouser(sp) mix. And they are located right off the main drag in Bar Harbor. It worked real well for us. Went to the park during the day and returned at dinner time and parked at the B and B and walked to dinner.

RE: Rear axle weight limit

Hello all,
It appears that we will be fine. We will watch how much we load in the front of the trailer and move more weight to the rear. We do not take any particularly heavy "toys".
We'd like to take our bikes but they are good bikes and fairly light. I will put them in the back, behind the trailers axles. The fresh water tank is in the front under the bed, however, we fill it only when necessary if we are heading into a facility that does not offer water hookup. Otherwise we travel with only a few gallons of water to flush if necessary.
We have a WDH now. I do not know what brand, got it when we purchased our current hybrid so will be sure to have it moved to the new trailer.
The truck has the factory max tow package with brake controller and the big mirrors and anti-sway.
Thank you for all your help. I feel a bit better that any trailer with the max. weight of 6,500 or under CAN be towed within this vehicle specifications. We will pack carefully.

RE: Rear axle weight limit

How does one determine if the weight exceeds the payload rating? Is it the 1892lbs as listed on the sticker?
How do you determine whether a vehicle is capable of towing a particular trailer prior to buying it?
I am really concerned. Otha's the max towing package, so I am not concerned regarding trailer weight just the weight on the rear end!

RE: Rear axle weight limit

The sticker says
Front GAWR 3450lbs
Rear GAWR 4050 lbs
GVWR 7400
We've not bought the trailer yet. I'm trying to figure out if the 575 dry hitch weight will pose a problem for us with this particular truck.

Rear axle weight limit

Hello all,
Our new f-150 door stickers says:
"the combined weight of occupants and cargo shoul never exceed 1892lbs."
We are looking at a trailer with a dry hitch weight of 575lbs. Is this too heavy? I Ned to add the weight distribution bars and hitch and us and out stuff to the 575, right?
The trailers' GVWR is 6,200 lbs.
It will just the two of us plus a 20lb dog plus our stuff, cooler mainly. Am I going to get too heavy on the rear axle?
