RE: Double tax

Another one is if you leave say a six dollar tip, they might add a one in front of it making it sixteen bucks. Odds are people don't check their credit card statements at the end of the month of they glance at them and thing yes that sounded about right.

RE: Which oil to use in Dodge Ram 1500 4.7 engine?

I have used Mobil One in all my vehicles with a Wix (NAPA Gold) filter and have never had an issue. My 2005 Dodge 4.7L ran like a top and it got new oil and filter every 10k miles. Had a 2002 VW Jetta TDI and I changed the oil every 20k miles and the filter every 10k miles. No problems and sold it with nearly 200k on it. Suburban with a 454 had almost 250k on it and it ran like a top, changed oil every 10k. Will never use anything different.

RE: Golf Cart Tax Credit

Correct me if I'm wrong but you don't buy an $8,000 cart then get $5,500 off as a tax credit which would make the cart cost $2,500. It sounds like you pay the full $8,000 for a new cart, then when you do your taxes next April, you get to deduct $5,500 off your adjusted gross taxes so you just not paying tax on $5,500 which would really save you about $1,400
The golf cart store owner I talked to today said the carts had to be made street legal by the original manufacture, not by adding a bunch of aftermarket lights, seat belts and so on, so its original intended purpose was to be street legal.
Am I misunderstanding something? People made it sound like its to good to be true but I don't see how.

Golf Cart Tax Credit

Someone posted a thread a few weeks ago about golf carts having a big rebate or tax rebate or something. I called my local dealer about this and he told me if you bought a new electric vehichle that was originally made by the manufacture to be street legal, then you would get a $5,700 tax credit.
He said Club Car didn't make a street legal cart yet but they were about to come out with one and I didn't ask him about other brands.
He did mention two that were street legal, two names I never heard of before and I can't remember now.
Anyways how does the tax credit work? He told me I'd pay full price for the cart then write off $5,700 on my taxes. That just means I don't have to pay Federal Income Tax on $5,700 of my money so if I was in a 25% tax bracket, I"d save $1,425. Am I thinking correctly?
Also the thread I read about a month or so ago made it sound like golf cart sales were thru the roof because of this but according to my dealer, the cart has to be made street legal from the ORIGINAL manufacture. Anyone know more about this topic?

RE: Unbalanced A/C output

I had a vent in my half bath which is a tiny room and it would get so cold in there I finally took a piece of thick paper and cut it out the size of the vent, leaving just a little bit to flow out. This worked well however keep in mind you can't block off to much flow from the AC or you will start to freeze up the coils. As some said, you might have blockage. Mine ducts are a straight shot so I can pull alll the vents off, put a small flash light at one end and use a small mirror on the other to see thru the ducts. If you can do that you may be able to rule out blockage.

Warren Buffett and I have alot in common

Warren Buffett and i have alot in common. We both share a big interest in trains and when I get an itch for a new one I run down to my local hobby store and pick up a new Kato cab or some rolling stock but when Warren gets that same itch, he calls up BNSF CEO and asks where to mail the check because he's buying the whole company, all
$34 Billion worth.

RE: Pulling Heavy 5W Without Duallys

I have a 39' fiver that weighs 16,900 pounds with a 3,450 pound pin weight and I'm towing it with a Ford F-350 crew cab dually and I'm overloaded. I am considering buying a MDT but I can't imagine towing mine with a SRW truck.

RE: Actual Price to Offer on New 5th. wheel

I got about 34% off MSRP, some have gotten a little more and some got a little less. 25-35% would be a good number depending on brand.

Dish Network Receivers

Does anyone know if they make a Dish Network single tuner receiver with an RF remote? I have looked but I cannot find anything yet. Wes

RE: DirecTV on the road?

That will work but if anyone stays back at home while your away, the home TV will not get the locals. I just subscribed to mine because I"m living in my RV while working in Ohio but my wife and kids are in Texas.

RE: Financing a 5th wheel questions/problems

Don't go to a bank. Join a credit union or at least ask about it. I have a house in Texas but bought a new fiver so I can live in it while working in Ohio. The credit union could have cared less if I"m living in it or just camping as long as I make the payments and its fully insured. Banks are just trying to cover their back sides after years of loaning money to just about anyone.

RE: DirecTV on the road?

Keep in mind if you stray to far away from your home viewing area, you will not pick up your prime time channels (ABC, CBS, NBS and Fox) because your local channels are "spot beamed" just in your area, just like they are in all areas of the nation. If you find yourself in dire need of the prime time channels and cannont pick them up on your RV's roof mounted anntena, you can subscribe to All American Direct and you will get two sets of feeds from New York and Los Angles for ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox, thats eight channels total. I paid $149 for a thirteen month subscription.

RE: Best place to mount backup camera

Mine came on the trailer new and its mounted on top. I can swivel the camera so I can see farther back or right up against my fiver. I have mine so as to see the very edge of the fiver bumper, that way I have an idea exactly how far people are from the back of my trailer as opposed to just who is behind me.
Works well for backing and has freaked a few people out that thought I was going to back into something but would stop four inches from a pole. Works well

RE: Winegard Carryout

Goldencrazy, good thought but I"m ahead of you. When I first bought it I hooked it up to my RV and never could get it to work so I unhooked everything and just went straight from my dish to my receiver with the supplied wires.
Like the vcube, the Carryout can only see one bird at a time however my receiver needs to be able to see two birds in order to display all my channels. With a single tuner reciever, the dish only has to look at the bird of interest but with a dual receiver, its possible that the dish needs to look at both birds at the same time, something thats impossible with this dish.
My best guess is that my dual receiver is telling my dish two different things to do at once and it can only do one thing at a time. I"m going to try a single tuner receiver but I want to get one with an RF remote so I can splice the output to all my TV's in the RV and while I"ll only be able to watch one channel at a time, when I'm laying in bed at night, I can still use the remote even though my receiver is in the other room.
Anyone know if they make a single tuner receiver with an RF remote?

I think I"m going to try a single receiver like yours but is your remote an IR remote or an RF remote?
