RE: Overall Rig Length

Depends on whether you want to open the rear door or not...

RE: In-Line Charcoal Water Filter for Under Sink

The older PUR models were crap. However they keep changing the design and I think the latest is the best. Snaps in and out and no more leaking or cracking.

RE: License plates from truck to TC and back again, and again.

It is on my prep list. Only takes a second. One time I forgot it (before making the list), I got stopped and moved it then. Didn't get a ticket fortunately.

RE: Refrig light

Your light switch has gone into SFR, or, Sudden Functionality Reversal. Have you changed out your batteries recently? That can cause it. That means the light is now on when the door is closed, and off when you open it. You can verify this by drilling a hole in the refer door and having a peek inside. Now thats funny right there!

RE: We lost another memeber..

He always sounded like quite a character! I pictured him as older and was shocked to hear his age. My condolences to his family and friends. TimH

RE: Best Truck Camper - Opinions and Advice Wanted

I don't know about older F250's but my 06 Ford F250 short bed handles a single slide Host 8.5 ft camper. Upgraded the spring pack at the dealers recommendation. Not over on my tires or axle.

RE: Automotive GPS suggestion

My first GPS was a Garmin. They were my only experience. Thought I knew my way around a typical GPS. Then I took a trip to the east coast with a friend who had only a Tomtom. After several days of frustration and wondering why it wouldn't work as common sense dictated a GPS should work I gave up. His next GPS will be a Garmin also...

RE: Rear Sway bar upgrade from stock--suggestions?

I had the stock sway bar on my 06 F250. Went to the Helwig Bigwig sway bar. Night and day difference. I could bend the stock bar by leaning my body weight on it. I was lucky to lift the bigwig. A beefy piece of metal and the single best upgrade I have done.

RE: CB radio

CB's still have a purpose and are used a lot in some areas of the country. Like someone else just said, it's another tool in the box.

RE: So what did you do to your Truck Camper today?

Sealed the roof, replaced a door latch, and repaired a piece of trim that was coming up on my Ford. All washed and ready to camp!

RE: Sway-bar Advice.

Hellwig Big Wig is without a doubt the best mod I did. When my wife can notice a difference from her side of the truck, its a big deal!

RE: BC Canada and truck weight ratings

Take the tag off the door and be done with it.

RE: What truck camper ovens are good for

I don't have an oven and try to plan meals accordingly. But when I have to bake something like scotch eggs and biscuits, I use my Holland Companion grill. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v460/obxcamper/IMG_0757.jpg height=375 I had to google scotch eggs...learn something new every day! Sounds delicious!

Wheel alignment with truck camper

This has come up in the past but without a clear verdict. Do you get your wheel alignment with the camper on or off? What do our resident experts have to say? Thanks for any feedback. I have a 2006 Ford F250. TimH

RE: Tire Pressure Question

The pressure stamped on the tire sidewall is the "max cold" pressure. The Manufacture knows the pressure will increase from there when driven. I run my E rated tires at 80 PSI when the camper is on, but only at 45 PSI when not loaded. Ditto. (and the most intelligent answer in this topic)

RE: Any wet bath shower mods?

What I did not read mentioned - Our shower curtain goes in front of the toilet, so the toilet seat, or the wooden door to bathroom, don't get wet at all. My wife showed me the correct way to place the shower curtain, perhaps other people haven't figured it out either. She had to show me the first time...
