RE: Commerical vs Passenger Plates

I've seen it done, but to my knowledge the savings was minimal and not worth the hassle or the limitation in hauling anything, and I mean anything in the bed. Seen tickets issued for carrying a cooler...

RE: Personal Safety along Southern Border?

So do you think if we keep going on about spare tires and air and such we can discuss anything we want on RV.net and you know who will never catch on?

RE: Nitrogen in the tires in lieu of the stuff we breathe

If you are nervous about driving a truck with a camper on it, then by all means use nitrogen in your tires, its recommended by all nervous camper owners.

BnB - you rock!
As far as I am concerned, you hit the nail on the head, a newby tried it and didn't like it, and has now seen the light...the original might as well have been a troll without a camper type, perhaps a 3000 pound Hallmark??

RE: Most remote location you've camped with your TC?

Boondocked outside Candlestick Park, San Francisco, wild animals everywhere, no civilization in sight, didn;t sleep a wink all night for the hootin and hollerin, kept ol' Betsy by my side....

RE: How much wind have you camped in?

Camping in Kansas a few years back, went to bed, tornado picked us up. Woke up in morning and found we were in Nebraska. Told my wife, honey we aren't in Kansas anymore!

RE: Why this forum rules

Kkeller - great thought about the astronauts, come to think of it, those landers are like pickups and they leave their camper in orbit...by golly I think we've found a new mascot...

RE: Question for "jpzeroday" - re. Everest on 3500 Chevy

Jon - while I am not a big dually fan, I confess I cringed a little at the thought of an Everest on a SRW, glad to see you went to 19.5's. I was always a little surprised Host didn't say something as they advertised it originally as for duallies only; I am glad you were able to find a system that worked for you. What some holier than thou types never consider is that most people are getting by as best they can and we can't all drive F550's etc...jmho.

RE: Financing

It wasn't borrowing to buy an RV or even a house that got us in trouble, it was lenders lending money to people they knew could not afford to repay it if the market folded, and it did...
How many people in this country would be able to own a house without borrowing at all?

Have a Host, have no need for a stove fan, have Fantastic Fan which is better by far.

Sounds to me like someone who normally handles these things for the company is stepping up, and preventing his boss who normally wouldnt know a circuit board from a toaster from doing any more harm to their reputation than he already has...

RE: Newbie question about unloading camper, while using it.

A bed mat is a must, and with a quality mat you really wouldn't need a liner, unless its for work when the camper is off. Otherwise you are just adding unnecessary cost. I went with a mat only after advice I got here and never looked back.

RE: What is a good hitch for towing with a 9'6" camper on truck

As far as the hitch is concerned, the best one on the market is the Torklift Super hitch. Depending on what you are towing you might get away with a regular hitch extender with a 9.6, but if you want stability & hitch capacity without worry, then the TL superhitch is the way to go. It will give you at least 750 lbs of tongue weight capacity.
I had one installed on my way down to Mexico for my new Cargo trailer. (I limped to Seattle with an 18 inch extender). I concur with Brad, IMO TL superhitch is the only way to go.
Wait a minute, wait a minute, did I read that right? Paul concurs with Brad? Be still my hammering heart...check the temperature in the netherworld, I think its freezing over.:B
Now back to your regular programming.
