RE: Carrying a Generator/Gas Can While Traveling

Mine is in the truck bed behind the cab when we travel. It is secured with a thick cable and lock. When we are home it is in the garage. As I have heard many times, if they really want it, they're going to get it. Ray

RE: Recommended Route from Salt Lake City to Jackson WY

Just past the intersection of 26/89 in Alpine there is an RV park and just past that there in a gas station/ market and deli. They make some of the best fried chicken we have ever had.

RE: 4 or 5 on tire replacement

Finally got around to checking the date codes on my old Goodrich's and was totally surprised that the tires were from late 20008. I didn't realize they were that old. Hopefully I will never need it but I new tire is going on the spare too. Thanks for all the input, it was really interesting to see so many different ways there were to solve the same problem by some very seasoned veterans of the RV highways. Again Thanks to all Ray

RE: 4 or 5 on tire replacement

Charlie D, Toyo Open Country H/T's. I had to buy 2 in Idaho and Les Schwab was the only one in town and that's what they sale. I would like for all 4 to be the same. Ray

4 or 5 on tire replacement

On our last vacation we had 2 of our BF Goodrich Commercial TA's go bad. They were about 3.5 years old. I was in Les Schwab territory and all they had was Toyo's so I bought 2. I'm ready to finish the process but I curious about the spare. Is the norm to buy 5 new and hopefully the spare never hits the ground or can I get away with putting a much cheaper tire on the spare. Thanks Ray 2005 Montana Mountaineer 29RKB

City of Rocks was very interesting to us. Also another vote for Rose Valley RV Park.

RE: Tehachapi pass

Barney55, We live in AZ. and have relatives in Bakersfield so I've been over that section many times. Overall it's a pretty good road, surface is much better than the 5/99. There are a couple of good size declines but they are relatively short. I just keep my speed down and have never had an issue. Going eastbound is a little more work because it is a major truck route. Not a bad ride at all. Ray

RE: Residential RV Parks

Golden Village Palms in Hemet would be another good choice. Ray

RE: Hwy 395 the length of California

X2 on Meadowcliff in Coleville Ca. It's right on 395 and has some road noise but quiets down real nice at night. Great little park.

RE: Outstanding RV Park

For a commercial park there is a fair amount of space between rigs. I do enjoy a decent picnic table though. Ray

RE: Generator can only run AC with everything else off

Just got back from a vacation in Wyoming. I have a Kipor 3000 and at 6700 ft. I had to turn the converter off to run the genny. At sea level everything runs just fine. Ray
