RE: Need 5th wheel advice

I have heard that three axle trailers are very hard to back and turn. The axles fight each other. Don't know this from personal experience but have heard it more than once. I pull a 33ft 5er and there are places I can't fit either, especially older state parks in Calif and Oregon. Ray

RE: route 60 in arizona

I have done it twice, the last time about 3 weeks ago. As said earlier a lot of up and down. I pull a 33ft 5er. I would really like to drive it again sometime in a car so I could enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Albuquerque to Silver City NM

Headed to Silver City from Albuquerque with a 39 ft 5th wheel. Can we take the 25 to the 152 from south of Truth or Consequences to Silver City or do we need to go all the way to the 10 and then to the 180. Thank You Ray

Dish Network Chat

When moving from location to location I always call Dish. I have read on here that people use the chat function, I have tried to search for these posts and have had no luck. Could someone give that rundown again and this time I will be sure to save it. Thank You Ray

RE: Dish Network or King Control Tailgater

dbbls, I already had placed an order for the King Dome. Hope my results are better than yours. The friends I have seem to like their Tailgaters . I looked at the Winegards but they were a little more than I wanted to spend right now. On the other hand it would not be the first time I have made a purchase and regretted it later. Thanks Ray

Dish Network or King Control Tailgater

Looking for pros and cons about Dish verses King Control tailgater. Tweety's has a sale on Dish version for $309.00 and King Control is about $349.00. They both look the same to me. Any pros or cons with either model. I already have the needed 211 receiver. Thanks Ray

RE: Cell Phone Maps

Tracrig, thank you. Quite a bit of feedback there. We usually get out once a year for about 5 or 6 weeks. I usually use Good Sam maps or MapQuest for A to B directions the night before. Where I run into problems is going thru small towns don't know where to turn to keep on route. It sounds like google maps could work for us in these situations. Any input is appreciated. Thanks Ray

Does anyone use cell phones apps for driving directions or does one need a separate unit like Magellan or TomTom Thanks Ray

RE: Wheel bearings When to repack

Dave H M, we won't be leaving for our trip for 3 or 4 weeks. If the weather cools off I might tackle the project. If it stays warm then I will do them when we return. Hopefully all will be good. Thanks Ray

RE: Wheel bearings When to repack

Trackrig, I've been doing them for over 6 years. After our last trip I had some brake issues and traced it to the right rear. Bare wire in there and repacked that one because it was off but it looked just like when I had repacked them. At the beginning I had some issues but found out that I had the spindle nut too tight. After that they always look like I just repacked them. Thanks Ray

Wheel bearings When to repack

Is repacking based on miles or time. I repacked them about a year ago and we have only traveled about 3000 miles this year. Just trying to give my back a break if possible. Thanks Ray
