RE: Trona Pinnacles

Johanesburg is the only place I can think of, also can go over to Randsburg for a "Beverage" i heard that you have to park the ohvs outside of town and walk in to the store guess the locals dont like the noise/dust in town Their is a specific route into town, you can make it to the store OK

RE: Battery's

Hi, The old battery charger might have been say 40 amps, with a 40 amp circuit breaker between it and the batteries. Now that you have a 60 amp charger, you might need to upgrade the wiring to #6 wire and change the circuit breaker to 60 amps. If the charger is very close to the batteries (hopefully not in the same compartment) then you can run new #6 gauge wire to the batteries directly from the charger. I think what you will find is the battery charger is connected to the 12 volt power distribution panel inside the RV, and then there is a 40 amp re-settable circuit breaker between the batteries and the 12 volt power panel. If this is the case, then running a #8 wire from your new charger to a 30 amp auto re-set circuit breaker (Napa auto parts store with 1/4" bolt on connections) to the batteries, with another 30 amp circuit breaker at that location (you get 12 volt power from both directions). Then some of the power will take each path, and you will get the batteries charged without tripping the circuit breakers. Good Luck, Fred. Thanks your right I may have not of thought of it. The new 60 amp charger is conected to the fuse panel with 8 g. wire I'll be running 4 g. straight to the batts. with its own breaker. Pull the batts. later my knee says not today.

I think your right on the mark, so far I have found the fuse holder in line with the circuit breaker melted the studs on the breaker loose (may be the cause of the heat) So back tot he store for a bigger breaker I think the cable to the charger is good. but I will still go bigger. OK my battery tester shows 13.1 trailer dummy lights show 3/4 charge (dont trust it) my amps show 12.2 (dont trust it either) my zantrex shows 13.2 I think after I rewire and put in bigger breaker and bigger fuse holder I may be ok Still have to pull the batts and check them, make sure a-z connections are clean and tight

RE: Battery's

I've got 4 6-volts the new and old charger have, had 3 stage chargeing. My new charger is a 60 amp. I kinna think things wernt right after they pulled my batts. so I need to check them and make sure their hooked right, I dont really know what they could have done wrong and not have it totally shorted or not working at all.

RE: Battery's

Thats what I thought, now I need to figure out why its not holding higher. It charges up to that point and then a couple days later it's only holding low 12's

Battery's

Got a question, once the batts. are fully charged and the charger drops back to hold mode, is 12.1-12.3 where it should be. It seems like the last few trips my batts. havent kept up with our use. I do have a new bigger charger. This was after the shop had my batts. out looking for a brake wire problem. I'm gonna pull the batts. today check clean and make sure they have everything right there.
