+1 on the 9000's. Had them on an old f250 and worked great.

Anti sway bar or load distribution bars? I use to have tt's with my f250's and used both. They help out alot.

RE: Can I run both A/C's at the same time w/ 5000KW gen

30 amps @ 120 volts is 3600 watts. Your 5000 watt gen should have no problem running both ac's. What is the surge watts of your gen? That would be your only concern is start up with both ac's. I would also look into installing hard start capacitors on your ac units. The inrush current will drop to about half. I installed one on my ac at home and the original inrush current went from 90 amps down to 45 amps on start up.

RE: AC only BUZZZZES

Not sure about rv ac's but on my ac at home it was. Im sure its the same on your tt. Just take the cover off. There may be another compartment on the unit where all the electrical stuff is. Google hard start capacitors. There cheap too.

RE: AC only BUZZZZES

Sounds like the capacitor is shot. The buzzing you hear is probably the contactor. If you can, get a new cap and a hard start cap. They help with the life of the ac. The inrush current cuts in about half with the hard start cap.

RE: koni vs bilstien comparison

Dont know the weight but the mh is a Chevy 3500 chassis and the Sprinter is a 2500.

RE: Cell Signal Boosting – what setup do you all use?

subscribed. Im interested too. I use to have Verizon but switched to Sprint for better rates. There service is pretty good but nothing like Verizon. I run a biz and need internet and signal. Most anywhere up north we lose signal.

koni vs bilstien comparison

I added 4 bilstiens and a rear sway bar to my mh yesterday. What a huge difference it made. My old shocks were probably stock with 26k miles on it. 2 of them were shot. Took it for a ride and no sway or leans around corners and no boat in the water feeling when driving.
My other vehicle is a 2004 dodge sprinter and I installed koni adjustable shocks which were almost twice the price of the bilstiens. I also added a rear sway bar to it. It stopped the rocking and drove real nice but for the price I would stick with bilstiens.

RE: Camping Kludges - Share Your Stories

Not exactly camping but...
I've mentioned this before on here, but several years back, my wife, I, and our 5 children were headed up to Canada in the bounder.
At the Canadian border for no reason at all, they stopped us and put us into secondary inspection. Fine. Thought it would just be a moment...
Eventually they came out and decided to search. So they have all of us leave the coach in nice cold weather, and go into the rather frigid office while they tore the coach apart. They went through everything and emptied out the cabinets, bathroom cabinets, luggage, silverware, and just dumped it out everywhere.
They brought out dogs to sniff all around the coach. Finally after about a 4 hour ordeal, I was getting very irritated and started making a good fuss.
They tried to explain how since we were from Texas, they were extra worried about Illegal aliens and drugs. Ridiculous. We have a clean record, and 5 children aged 13 down to 3 just looking to go have some fun.
TI told them I just wanted to leave their stupid country and turn right back into the USA. That's exactly what we did. Got everybody up, went back into the coach with EVERYTHING thrown everywhere... Made a fat U-Turn, told USA border Canada stinks, and drove right back into the USA.
1 week later we decided to try again going through a different border checkpoint. They stopped the coach and said very friendly, "how are you doing, how long are you staying, do you have any fruit, how many people, are these your children"... Simple standard questions by a very courteous agent. Then without ever leaving the coach and just about 1 minute of conversation which ended in him suggesting some stops to make, he said "Have a wonderful trip!".
I have no idea why on Earth the first situation happened. I've been across the Canadian border many times. Perhaps it was just the wrong time?? Anyway, that's the worst RV kludge I've had.
That is why I wil not go into Canada. Tear your stuff apart and not put it back. I would be hot. If you have pets, dont you have to have them licensed too?

RE: Want to purchase a RV

I think you would enjoy a motorhome over a tt or 5er any day. I owned tt's and now a mh. They are way easier to set up and much more enjoyable. For instance, when we have to wait in line to dump we just turn around and enjoy the time. Only disadvantage is if your only going to use it 3 to 5 times per year than a 5er would be better but for the price of a new vehicle and a 5er could get you a really nice mh.

RE: Squirrels got us AGAIN - updated 8/14

So the fuel line is hard piped? I think you could splice it with rubber line and a couple clamps to get you by. Just make sure it can take the pressure. Not 100% sure so maybe someone else will chime in.

RE: Is lack of a rear cam a deal breaker?

I have a wireless on my class c and it works pretty good. The receiver is in the back by the camera and it gets good reception. Sometimes it gets lines in the pic and cuts out but not often. Cant complain for $130 bucks. I needed something quick and easy for my last trip but I will upgrade later on when I get the time and money.
