RE: Accumulator question

The accumulator will not quiet the pump, only make it run less frequently. Regardless, it's a good thing and really helps your system overall.

RE: Mileage- Class C vs. 5th

From what I've seen, there's not much difference between towing, using a MH, etc. It takes X amount of gas to move X amount of weight, and everyone seems to be getting between 8-11 mpg no matter what. The difference may be what you're driving when you unhook or what you're using as a toad. As said above, find the setup that works best for you in your normal driving-if you can use a pickup as a daily driver, then thats the way to go.

RE: greyhawk 30gs 2006 - setting the time on the radio...

I set mine this am, I think my radio is different but similar. I had the clock showing on the screen, then held in the "disp" button till the numbers started flashing. I was able to then use the clock up/down knob (you have buttons) to set it. Good luck

RE: Excellent quality class C (or B) recommendations?

Love my Jayco, but I think Lazy Daze is the best, period. No slides, though, and thats the only reason I don't have one.

RE: OOOO HOT!

I wouldn't worry about it, I don't the the mfr would make it if it was hazardous. You might look into a folding burner cover, they're made for almost all the stoves and when it's up, it might keep some heat off the rear wall. The smoke detector will always go off, I have to unscrew mine and put it on the couch all the time especially with the oven on.
I've also seen several units with a sheet of acrylic screwed to the walls, helps to keep it clean too.

RE: greyhawk 30gs 2006 - setting the time on the radio...

I think the radio has to have the "display" button pushed, but I can't remember. I have the same one, I'll check it tomorrow since I haven't changed mine either. I have the owners manual just in case.

RE: 1991 LAZY DAZE/350 TBI

I'd say go for it if its the floor plan you want. You can't go wrong with a LD, prob the best C in the business. As for mileage, no one gets better than 10-12 mpg on motorhomes (except for a new Sprinter), and what does it matter in the long run when you're saving so much up front by buying a used unit? Mileage is not significant compared to depreciation, taxes, license, etc that you'll save.

RE: Rubber Roof Wrinkles

I had them on my last MH, a Pace Arrow. Didn't cause any problems at all.

RE: Ford 460 vs V10 1st vs V10 2nd gen

My last MH had the 460 and we had to put in a Banks kit to make it satisfactory on hills, not nearly enough power. My present unit has the later V10, which I love. Lots of poop, smooth, a great engine. But don't expect much difference in mileage, I only get the usual 8-10 depending on how I drive.

RE: Jayco Mattress

I think all you can do is replace it. I've heard good things about the "mattress in a box" deal. Around $400 and folks seem to be happy. We replaced the factory one in our Greyhawk with a Sleep Number. I don't recommend it, stick with a standard unit. Our problem was Jayco had a custom mattress with one rounded corner so we had to get a standard one (rv queen size) instead but it's no problem, we can still easily walk past the corner.

RE: WHERE TO BUY WATER FILTER CARTRIDGES, DRINKING WATER FAUCET?

It might be the Everpure, it should have the info on the cartridge that you prob can just unscrew underneath. They're pricey but I think CW has them.

RE: Maxxair vent covers

Fantastic doesn't recommend it (it says in their instructions to not use any cover) but I put Maxxairs on all my vents, including the one with the fan and it works just fine. May not give the maximum air flow but I can't tell any difference, and I can leave all vents open all the time. The Fantastic won't open quite all the way but it's still fine.

RE: A different kind of ant question

I read somewhere before that the waves bounce around in there and the ants are too small to be hit directly and affected, kind of like shooting at ants on the fence with a shotgun.

Do they let you take any photos inside, or when on the tour? We'll go there for sure if we travel anywhere in that part of the country.

RE: Jayco 21M 2009 leak inside bathroom wall

A vent pipe will not leak from itself but you could have a caulking leak. But, it doesn't sound like it since the second time was dry. Look very carefully under the sink at the water and waste lines, I'll bet there's a small leak somewhere (prob water line) that only leaks when the pump is pressurized. I had that on my Jayco MH under the kit sink.

RE: Jayco Melbourne 24e

We camped in our C and A for years without a toad, it really depends on what you like to do. You can certainly get along with just your rv but it will be a hassle if you're hooked up for any length of time. I think I'd recommend a small, light tow car to bring. You won't even know its behind you and it'll come in handy often. Honda Fit, CRV, lots of other coupes that are really light.

Try Avast, I switched a while back and like it. The interface is a bit outdated but it works ok for a free one.

RE: Hydronic Heating Problem

I'm not familiar with RV hydronics, but lots of experience with commercial. Sounds like the circ pump may not be working right, or flow is restricted which will cause short cycling. Are all valves fully on, and all air out of the heating loop?

RE: Greyhawk 30gs- manual sideout return

Check the owners manual for the two spots where there is the wrench connection. On my 30GS the rear slide stuff is under the bed under the wooden cover, motor is right there. For the front slide I think its in the storage compartment under the slide, or maybe just above it when the slide is open. Can't remember for sure now, but there is a lug wrench that came with the MH.

RE: Every hose I get leaks at the connections!!!

Another thing, the cheaper hoses have stamped or pressed fittings on the ends. The better hoses have cast or machined heavier fittings which make a better seal. Like said above, make sure you use good washers.
