I guess that I am niave-flame me if you want to-, but I kinda believe that when a vehicle is engineered it is set up for the best combination of power, mileage,emissions, and longevity. I run my vehicles stock and as far as I can tell, I have about the same combination of power, mileage, etc as all the rest.If you want better mileage lift your right foot a little bit.

I have a 2012 Open Range and it was factory wired that way. No problem really, I think it keeps the heat more evenly distributed.

If it's a single lever type, there's usually a large nut ( or a clamp type device ) on the bottom side of the faucet. Ane you're right, it's almost impossib;e to get to. I have used channel lock type pliers on them.

We have a 2012 Open Range 345RLS , bought it last December. We are on the tail end of approximately a 6000 mile trip. We have lived in it for the past 3 1/2 months and are completely satisfied.

thanks for the info- I.m running an 04 d/max and my buddy a Ford-not sure of model. My max range is 225 mi +_. Just don't want to get in the Niagara area and begin running low. That makes me nervous and I would rather have a little cushion to choose my stop.

Fuel availability
Probably been beat to death already, but------I will be crossing Canada from Pt Huron MI to Niagara Falls NY. Is there plenty of sources for diesel that I can get in and out of with a 35 ft 5th wheel ?

RE: Safety inspection Question
I went to an inspection station and when they entered the VIN into the computer it came up " This vehicle does not require inspection ".
Are you changing the title from another state ? If so, you will have to get an inspection to verify that the VIN is the same as listed on the title. I think any law enforcement officer can do this inspection ( check with your local PD.)
