RE: Beach Camping?

Assateague State Park (MD) has loops right on the Atlantic. Similar arrangement at the National Park there also.

RE: Getting the wife to drive

My wife used to drive our 30' C but as soon as I added the toad, she said no way. I tird to scare her mentioning the possibilities such as breakdown, medical emergencies, etc. but can't convince her. Has nothing to do with her driving skill as she handled the rig well...just a fear of towing.

RE: Adding bleach to water system

BTW the easiest method for me since I use a seperate water filter is just to remove the cartridge, pour the right amount of bleach into the housing, then full the tank. Then use the pump to force chlorinated water into all the lines.
X2 ----- Works for me.

RE: salesman's switch bypass back again

I'm going to follow this thread just to figure out what the question is :)
Salesman Switch???/Bypassing solenoids?
Here's the original thread. I saw it the other day. http://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/26351360.cfm
The "Salesmans switch" is the battery cut off/bypass switch.

RE: Traveling to Acadia and Cape Cod with dog?

I'm not a dog owner but I have seen many campgrounds that post "no unattended dogs to be left in camper." Who's to say you don't have a loud barking dog when you're away and gone? I kinda like those policies. Fine to bring dogs, but you must be there to maintain control. JMHO

RE: From MA to NJ

Just the other day I took the 84 to 684 to 287 route and have to say that sections of 684 are the worst of all roads traveled. Some older sections have expansion joints every 100' and will "knock the fillings" out of your teeth. Just a tough ride on your tires and chasis. They have repaved some stretches in recent years but every time I take it I say it's my last time. JMHO

RE: How to fax w/o a land line?

I use Send2Fax.com, have a limited plan. Costs me $2.95/month. Like myfax.com, the company doesn't advertise this plan.

RE: State Restrictions in tunnels with propane????

It goes beyond just turning your propane tank off. Some states do not allow vehicles carrying propane to be in the tunnel, period, Search this out and plan ahead because when you get to the tunnel and the exit before reminds you to get off, good luck if your're in city traffic. We loop around Baltimore just because of this restriction.

RE: Pet Free Campgrounds

At Assateague State Park, MD - there is one pet loop....the rest are listed as "No Pets". To me, it's no so much that "people want their pets with them every waking hour", that's usually good. More often it's those who leave them unattended or ignore the fact that their dog is disprutive or they just don't give a damn that their dog barks incessently and disrupts the peace and tranquility of a campground experience. Responsibility is the key here and unfortunately there are many pet owners that are unaware because they are use to their dogs barking. Often, once one dog starts, they all start barking and it's no different than being at a kennel. Not fair to everyone else! BigBoy, I truly understand your consternation here.

RE: Pocono Raceway Campground

Haven't been to Pocono either but hope to next year. Why not come up to NH in Sept. for the Sylvania 300? NHMS has good site lines and a great time of year to be in NH.

RE: Blue Ox Tow Bar

Generally, you do hook up with the arms unlocked so you can connect even if the toad is not exactly in line. When you pull forward, both arms should extend and lock in place. I can usually hear and feel when mine lock. As part of hookup, have copilot stand and watch while you pull forward. We do.
X2
I find that one side may lock in and the other doesn't. As I slowly pull forward and slightly turn in the direction on the arm that hasn't locked (Seems backwards but the rear end swag causes then back end of MH to kick in the opposite direction) it will extend the arm to lock in. Gotta play with it a bit to see what works best.

Is there a correct connecting sequence order when using both a Surge Guard and Auroformer/Power booster between the Post and RV?

RE: Campers Beware

The first time I had to cancel a reservation (3 nights), the written policy was "no refunds". I called, explained my situation, and the owner gave me a 3 night credit for later in the year. Partly because of that kind gesture, I go back to that place every year. It just might pay for some to rethink refund policies and look at the long term ranifications.
