RE: Driving at night, I like it for the most part.

Fire Up, I almost always drive some distance at night especially on the way out. If I have to go up I5 I leave here at 3AM that gets me over the grape vine by about 6AM and beyond the LA traffic. Night driving in areas with Elk populations is a little more adventurous we found on our way to Denver over the Christmas holiday. Those Elk are big and I think would do some hefty damage. Thankfully I was in my Jeep and was able to drive around it. Anyway my DW doesn't like leaving in the middle of the night, but when it comes to driving through LA traffic, since she doesn't/won't drive I get my way.

RE: Older Ford V10, 5W-20 oil?

I use MotorCraft 5w-20 as the manual calls for in my 2004. I drive across the Southern Cal and Arizona Deserts in the summer. I don't have as many miles as you do, but it's still running fine. We have work trucks running 5w-20 for 100,000+ miles.

RE: Fuel consumption on genset

No manuals beside the chassis service guide. Fuel usage should be in the owners manual. You can get all the info you need from www.generac.com You may even be able to download a pdf of the manual.

RE: DVR for the MH

I use the dish Vip211k with a USB external hard drive, and the tailgater. Was great not having to aim a dish. Worked great this last weekend on our fist try recorded a few things, worked just like the DVR at home.

RE: Class A MH gaser question

Try this link for the new ones. Ford Commercial Vehicles My 2005 has the 2 valve engine and 5.38 rear end gear. 18,000Lb chassis does fine. Fuel mileage, well it's a big heavy vehicle so it's not good. 7 to 8 on long trips. Averaged 8.1 once San Diego to Mt Rushmore and back.

RE: "Kingdome" gone inop, now what to do???

Okay I realize your on DirecTV and this will only work for Dish but we are using the Tailgater. The advantage is that it only cost $350 if you already have a receiver. Also it can moved if you happen to be parked where a tree blocks the signal path. Last weekend we watched the Indy 500 and the Coke 600 our neighbors missed both races their dome was mounted to their 5th wheel and trees were blocking the signal. I moved my Tailgater around until I found a spot around the trees. I would have invited them in but they didn't tell me they had a problem until Monday. Works for us, got rid of cable at the house too.
