RE: Manually closing slideout on our 06 Open Road 5th Wheel

We have an 06 Open Road 314 5th wheel. The bed platform has 2 compartment, the hinge end and the fastened end which is the head board side. Remove the screws and the motor assembly and gear box is there , I beleive its a 5/8 or 9/16 rachet is all you need to do it manually.

RE: More New Owner Questions....

1 They dropped their rig because hitch was'nt latched!
2. It all depends on camp grounds, I alway make sure I carry 2x8 and 1x8 5ft long to lift one side under wheels.
3 Right amount of cord is usually 30' the amount that comes with your rig, I stay alot at gun clubs at shooting events and I carry
75' of #10 wire extension. As good when staying at places other than camp grounds.
4. We keep unit stocked from early spring to late fall, that way it wastes less time unloadind and unloading.
5. Floor jack is ok, just takes up more room and heavier.
Good luck and enjoy.

RE: Automatic Slider Hitch rails above bed or below bed

If you think that you might use your truck for something besides a tow vehicle, go with the under bed. I have the under and love it. Been out of truck all winter, getting ready to put back in. 5 minte job to put hitch back in and relub with sliplate. You won't go wrong with Super glide hitch.

RE: Moving from a Class C

We did the same thing, we moved from a 22'rk class c to a 34' 5th wheel.
We love the added room and just like drop the trailer and go ability. Not having a single layout has not been a problem. The larger bath and shower has more than mad up for it. Just take your time and find a unit that fits your needs, its out there. Good luck finding the unit that fits your needs.

RE: the necessary room

We have a split bath, and like it, Our sink is in the shower area and not in bed room. It this layout there is a lot more room, as no wasted space for hallway.

We use a gps (Milo DigiWaker) and also Onstar, would not be with out them, no trying to read maps while drive, voice directions, works great! We use the Onstar the most.
