Ad in the latest issue of Highways calls it Good Sam Extended service Plan, "Designed for Good Sam Club by Affinity Brokerage LLC."
I am now a confused shopper.
Maybe "administered by GMAC" should be added?

Did the shop have a theory on why the manifold leaked? Not sure what gauges you have but boost leak can cause high exhaust temps. Checking the Charge Air Cooler for leaks is a good idea. Mine had a few good sized leaks.
Haven't yet installed an Exhaust gas temp gauge or boost gauge but plan to. A stock engine should not over heat but age and wear and tear can "de-stock" one over time. Even a failed air filter can lead to shortage of air supply and high exhaust temps under high engine load.

If you could get specific on brand of leveler jacks that would help.
Did you get any manuals for your MH? Most can be found on line and manuf. of various things such as appliances and accessories all have web sites.
If your Jacks came from HWH you can contact them. Great service.
As with any RV problem you should collect all the info you can before you call. Vin number, then any model number from the problem part.
Use the search feature here or Google it. All of us Geezers here can tell you of the time before the Internet..... uphill both ways.

We do a reverse of your route every year, heading to Southern Oklahoma(North of Dallas)to visit relatives.
Tolls can be a shocker especially if you head North along the I-95 corridor above Richmond, but the non toll alternatives can be tough unless you have local info. We are in The Albany, NY area and now when west bound we just take The NY state Thruway and pay the tolls. I-81, I-88, and I-84 are toll free in NY and can be great to use. As info Up-state NY is pretty rural.
The post about Hartford Conn. is a good example of good specific info that can ease the trip. When you get more details on your route, post them and you'll be able to get more specifics. Reservations are a good idea as you move into the N. East.
The Marine Corps Museum is a must see, as is all of the DC area history.

I had a local RV repair shop inspect it. I haven't received the report yet, but the initial report was good. He said that everything worked except the dash air conditioner. He said that the belt was off and the compressor was froze up. He also put a computer on the engine and it came back with no messages at all. He said that was a little odd because usually there were at least a few ghost messages which I took to mean false messages. He gave the overall coach a "B" for overall condition. He also said the oil definitely needed to be changed. I will have more info when the report arrives in my email.
I am being offered a 3 year 36000 mile warranty with a $200 deductible for $5000. It covers all major components including sliders and levelers. I am trying to decide if I should just take the $5000 and set up the "benchmark" position ( bank whatever is left, if anything ) or buy the warranty. Decisions, decisions.
Hard to believe the insurance company will replace much with no repair record, "pre existing conditions" etc.
Not hard to believe at all! When I bought the coach in my sig, the company which offered the "extended warranty" did not ask for any maintenance records, and neither did I. The coach looks good, runs good, and it is what we wanted. "records"? I don't care about records, and apparently, neither does the insurance company.
OK, that's great. What repairs have you had covered under the policy? Maybe I'm too skeptical in my old age. Thanks

Check the Blackstone web site. They can test the fluids, not very expensive and can tell a tale.
The mileage is high as far as the chassis is concerned and lack of records as well should be reflected in the price. If that is not an option then look for another rig.
Plan on putting aside a chunk of cash for repairs, if you don't use it then great.
If you are not comfortable with doing filter changes etc. then ask the owner to have it serviced as a final condition. Good luck

The side topic here of gradual battery loss of charge can be a real problem if your MH happens to be in a cold climate. Batteries can freeze when discharged and little can be done to revive them.

GM has changed some of their transmissions and after they got bit big time last year over RV towing and failed transmissions, it does not surprise me they have reduced their RV towing list. I have been told that Ford and GM are in a joint venture for new 9 & 10 speed transmissions and I really don't expect those to be towable either. The RV sector is a very miniscule percentage of their business and they will not add a $xx item to a transmission just to appease the RVers. Times are changing and the RVers do not control its direction....:B
That makes sense to me. My reason for the original post was to find out if towing was a potential problem for My present Malibu.
I doubt many people think that the auto world revolves around them. Certainly not me. It is hard enough to get RV manufacturers to pay attention.

In NY I have two possible EZ pass transponders (little square thing) when towing I remove the one normally in the toad and store it.
Then I place the one marked towing (marked when I picked it up) and travel. When not towing I take that transponder down and store it and put up the one marked RV only.
Sounds complicated but I believe the rate (in NY at least) for towing is less than it would be for both vehicles traveling seperately.

Fewer Chevy choices for toad

New MH mag Toad guide shows no Malibu. Have had two (one still in use) and they were/are great.
Anyone know why they were dropped? Problems with wear and tear or different tranny? Thanks any thoughtsor info.

The base plate may be what you are talking about. It is usually custom designed by the tow bar manufacturer for a particular car.
If that is what you mean then yes you can install it your self but it can take time and study. My soloution has been to go to a local body shop and have them do it. Generally it involves removal and then replacement of some of the front grill and other parts.They will have lots of experience and understand the nature of what you need to do.
Check tow bar manuf. web sites for info. you can often download the instructions for the install and take them to the body shop for an estimate.

I just finished shopping for a DP between 1999 and 2003 model year.
I Tried both private and dealer consignment sale. Ended up buying from a dealer in VT. I'm in NY.
The problem I (we, including wife) ran into a number of times was folks often owe above what the market price seems to value a coach at.You need to know if the title is clear or if not, what will the process be to clear the title. Check for rig age limits as far as it effects amount of money that can be borrowed on it. It will often be very low.
Start low on the price you can always go higher if you become convinced this is the one you want.
Drive it or have a competent person evaluate the rig.
Reserve some cash for repairs and upgrades.
Check with your states Motor Vehicle Dept for proof of ownership documents you will need. View the title before you buy.

It depends on the chassis. I had an 86 on a P chassis that came out through the bottom. In any case you need to watch for damage while removeing it.

I road in a friend's FRED one time. Had to shout to have a conversation and ride was rough. His mileage was about 10 mpg. After two years he's trading for a diesel pusher.
Suggest you don't make the same mistake if ride and quiet is important to you. If not, go for it.
We traveled many miles in an "old school" 5.9 Cummins Front engined Allegro. Before that we had a 454 Chevy powered Allegro.
The noise level was about the same. Newer diesels are much quieter but nothing is as quiet as a pusher. All about the trade-off's. Cost comfort, etc.
Test Drive both. Time on the road vs parked time? J Golden (0311)
PS: I called Tiffin a few years ago and had to convince a young man that,yes, they had built a front engine diesel in 1990 (as did many companies)then they provided the usual great assistance.
