RE: ERS while double towing

I am sure that there is a legal length to deal with here, you may be too long for one tow truck.

SD mail forwarding

I know this is a subject that has been beat to death more than one time. We are going full time in the spring and have looked into mail forwarding from SD and have narrowed down the preferences to one. Has anyone had any experences with "Your Best Address" out of Sioux Falls? I am looking for good or bad comments on this company because their rates seem to be very competitive. I have reviewed past posts but have not seen anything on this company. Any comments are appreciated! thank you Jim

Lowrance GPS receiver

Just inherited a Lowrance GlobalMap 100, 12 channal receiver that is about 10 years old. Its been said that this thing will cook your breakfast if you leave it in the kitchen over night. One problem however is the operator, can't figure out some of the directions. does anyone have a unit like this? If so, would you mind sending me a PM? Thanks Jim

RE: MN to Texas

We stop at Terribles also. We start in Hibbing Minnesota and drive to Terribles.Cost is $20.00 but they give you $10.00 to use at the casino (my wife won $40 on that $10.00 last winter. We leave our water running slightly if its freezing and use propane for heat.. Works great!

RE: 30 amp RV and 50 amp from the post

Like anything else you borrow or rent, you never know how the last person who had it treated it. I would rather have one of my own so I know what I have

Decals on fiver

My fiver just got off the warrenty, and of course that when some of the problems start also.. Just noticed some of the decals on the sunny side of the trailer are starting to blister during the day when the sun is out, but go away at night when it cools down. Is this normal? is there a way to remedy this?

Quartzsite camping

We are coming to Quartzsite in January for the first time and are wondering about the drycamping in the desert. We drove by many times without stoping, does one just pull off into the desert or is there an official entrance? I assume there is a minimal fee? any suggestions?

extended warrenties on 5th wheels

My 07 Jayco comes off factory warrenty in FEB 2010. We will be going full time in August 2010 with 3 long trips planned between now and then. We are considering an extended warrenty through Good Sam or Jayco. Has anyone had any experience with either one of the extended warrenty plans? Are they worth the $30/mo considering repaires sooner or later are inevitable? Any advice will be appreciated. Maybe some of you fulltimers can help me with this.

desiel fuel injectors

Is it true that with the ultra low sulfer fuel one has to add addditives to the fuel? I have a 2005 ford 6.0 and am told that they don't put many additives in the fuel Jim

diesel injectors

Being fairly new to diesels, I have 30k on my 2005 superduty 6.0, is it necessary to add additives to the fuel EVERY time I fill up in order to keep the injectors from clogging? It seems as though one would have to carry a case of it along if you fill up a couple of times or more a day. Jim

hand held GPS

I am considering the purchase of a hand held GPS for hiking purposes so that I can return on the same route that I went on a hike. Some of the hand helds tell you the direction to return, but that may be across a lake or over a mountain instead of the exact route that you took. Has anyone used the Garmin GPS 60R? This is on line for 134.00 and has a track-back feature. The Garmin E-Trex also has a reversable route feature with lots of features I don,t need for 160.00. Then the Bushnell Onix 200 says it has a feature that "tracks a previous path traveled" for 99.00. Has anyone had any experience with these or any other "hand helds"? Jim

Quartzsite campgrounds

We are going to Quartzsite for two weeks in January. I know lots of folks dry camp, but we prefer to stay in a campground with water, elec etc. Has anyone stayed at Holiday Palms? Are there any other suggestions? Jim

Going to Camping World tomorrow to look at their TST tire pressure and temp monitor. Has anyone had experience with this brand? In general, do they work well? Jim

tire monitoring

I am considering purchasing a tire monitoring device for our truck and 5er. Am considering the Tire Safe Guard product with 6 valve stem mounted locking sensors. Has anyone else used this system, or are there any other valve stem mounted reliable systems? Jim

Air Helper Springs

I am going to install Firestone air helper springs on the rear of my 05 Ford Superduty to keep the headlights somewhat level when towing the 30ft 5th wheel. Is it necessary to also install front bags for stability? I'm sure many of you have the rear bags, are they satisfactory?

SEWER SOLUTION

Has anyone had experience with a product called "sewer solution" sold by Camping World? This is a system that eliminates the need for the 3 inch dump hose by using water pressure to break up the waste and send it on its way via a 1 inch hose.

residency in South Dakota

We are going full time the summer of 2010, and trying to decide what state to claim residency in. We currently live in Minnesota but will give up residency here for a more tax friendly state. We also own a modest home in Arizona which we rent out on a long term basis, this may or may not have a bearing on where we claim residency. We have heard that a lot of full timers claim South Dakota as their home. Does anyone care to elaborate as to what state is best and why? Any advice that you can give would be appreciated. contact me either through this forum or personally if you wish. Thanks
