RE: Two AC's with 30 Amp Service ?

I have a 99 damon daybreak with a 4 KW gen set. My second A C unit is a new high efficiency non-ducted unit in the bedroom. Total amp draw with both running is about22 amps as measured with a clamp on ammeter.Just make sure you are within the ampacity of the wiring and don't run other appliances simultaneously.
Voltage should be aminimum of 106 VAC. If not your are subject to brown out and circuit tripping .
good luck!

RE: My class A is more than I need now.

As I expected, I have received thoughtful reponses that indicate thinking people. Your ideas are excellent and I will implement them I am sure. There is not a big hurry right now. Just cleaning up loose ends and trying to do right by someone. The motorhome is in the backyard right now , but it will be slow going to unpack several years worth of travel and incidental improvements. My wife asked, "Do you really want to sell it?" The answer is no, but the Coach House B class seems to be appropriate for us at the moment.
Again, Thanks for your input. It gives me things to consider.

My class A is more than I need now.

Hello Friends,
I have a 99 Damon Daybreak, Chev. 2960 that I should sell. Setting a price is ambiguous, at best. Tell me some of the things you consider when pricing. I have the usual biases regarding my property, but I also want to be realistic and find it a new home for someone to enjoy. Advertising sources would be typical; newspapers, credit union bulletins, and so on. Health concerns are a large issue at the moment. Your comments will be appreciated.

RE: What Did You Do To Your Class B Today ?

Dropped it off at the garage for battery drain on new battery. They think it is hte alternator running too low a voltage to charge properly. Here goes another $300.
but I still enjoy the unit.

RE: Any Advice On B Purchase

I bought a Coach House B last year and very pleased with it. It is old; a '93 but had 70,000 miles on a Chevy 454. Interior was like new and I spent about $2000 on tires and fiberglas repair around fender well. I also have a 31 ft. class A as comparison.
It would be raRE TIND A b LIKE THIS, i think.

RE: presurize inside of MH to check for leak

There is an industrial ultra sound leak detector called an SDT 270 which will find any leak. If you can find a dealer, auto even, who has one it is very easy and quick. An ultra sound generator is set inside the unit and the detector is scanned over the exterior. This unit is about $5000 so you won't find it everywhere. If I were younger I think I would get one and just find leaks for a fee. I used to sell these to industry for leak detection of gases . Good luck with your search. If you find a dealer who wants one, I can get it.

They are just ignoring history. Bad things only happen to others. It is like your topic says.

Replaced the low pressure hose from the gas regulator. The outside was soft on one end.

RE: georga overnight

Look at Perry, about 80 miles south of Atlanta. There are 4 campgrounds here. Two just off the interstate. We need your business. I live here (retired). Come on up.

RE: Any tips for finding a leak?????

Find a dealer that has an SDT ultra-sound leak detector. There is a sound generator that can be set inside and the leak detector used outside to pick up the sound. This is an exceptional device used in industry and will cetainly find even the smallest leak.

RE: Best of both worlds

My class B has a 454 GM engine, 4 speed trans, 4:10 rear end. A little high school physics can tell you how much torque you have available. My class A has the same specs. The A will tow 4000 Lbs. and weighs 12000 itself. The B weighs 8020 Lbs. Swaying can be controlled with the right hitch. This is not to say I would tow a heavy, large trailer, but that you should consider what you buy with as much information as you can get. Good luck with your decision.

RE: Born Free

I seriously considered the Born Free a few years back. Terrific coach if you like the floor plan. I should have bought it. It had 130,000 miles on the chassis but was in good shape. Good luck.

RE: 11000 btu versus 13500 btu A/C units

You are right to question the generator capacity regarding another A C unit. 2800 watts would provide 23 amps at 120 volts. If you have a high efficiency unit installed it would draw about 10 amps for a 13,500 BTU unit. As far as change out, the mounting should be the same at 14 inches square. Good luck.

RE: My 92 Coachmen update

One note of caution on the gas cans on the rear, or front for that matter. Have you considered the results of a collision? A friend of mine had a propane tank mounted on the front of his RV and rear ended another vehicle some years ago in Florida. He and his wife both perished in the instant fire.
