RE: Need Make/Model Suggestions for a TT (or maybe 5th Wheel)

Just read earlier someone suggested you buy a TV that you can tow your next RV with and I think thats a very good idea. What happens in 2 years if you would like a larger RV and your truck won't pull it.

RE: Another question for you veteran campers.

On the federal site for camgrounds once you choose what cg you want & you can enter the size site you need and it will show you whats available. Here in the midwest we've never had a problem and we have a 35ft

RE: Disappointing holiday weekend

2 months for an air conditioner when they are all over the internet-No way I would have tolerated that. Sounds to me like someone is not doing their job and keeping an adequate supply of inventory. Even mom & pop shops usualy carry at least one in stock or can get one within a few days let alone someone like CW

RE: Any tips for buying a used PUP?

Started out in tent-pu-tt now fw. PU was great but you have to remember loading and unloading it can become a hassle. You also have the same issues as a tent-don't touch the sides if its raining and never ever put it away wet. Highly recommend finding one with ac-

RE: Scared to buy

You also need to remember that people are more inclined to tell you about problems then not. The good tings about forums like this is if you have a problem you can usually find a "how to fix". If there where that many unhappy campers there wouldn't be something like 8.9 million of us. Even your homes need repairs/maintenance-campers are no different. You take the good with the bad.

RE: Chaulking Windows

DH says never use caulk on campers. It never holds up due to the movement of the campers and temperatures changes. He says putty on a roll for most seams stays soft and flexible- don't know what butyl tape is but if thats what the mfg uses go with it.

RE: Mobile camping versus "permanent" site

We have a seasonal site and love it. It's 30 min from home so all I have to do to is grab some clothes and food and head down there. Everything is already setup. We pull the 5er out for several extended trips throughout the year and when we retire in a few years plan on spending the winters traveling and coming back home for the summers. You do need to be careful on choosing a site because we are one of the few that can pull our 5ver in and out with no problems. Most of the seasonal site are landlocked so major effort to move camper. The CG we are at is on a lake so beside swimming and fishing they have activities all summer for both young and old. Have make some great friends.

RE: Why?

I like using the shower houses because I usually have unlimited hot water. Most TT or 5ers have limited hot water tanks. I don't take long showers but like the idea of rinsing all the shampoo out of my hair.

RE: Not sure what to do . . .

We carry a pedestal fan-serves two purposes. 1 if the bugs are really bad helps circulate the air so they aren't such a problem and 2 as a fan inside to assist the ac if needed.

RE: Dead AC....not my season to camp

You may want to check a couple other things-Fellow camper had similar problem over the weekend. DH had him take the cover off the AC to check and see if any mud daubbers (sp)and sure enough there were quite a few on the fins. Cleaned them and the filters as running great.

RE: Don't forget to service the batteries before heading out....
