RE: Boy, do I feel dumb...

Love it when this happens. I was playing under the steps, where my coach batteries are. It appeared to me a breaker was thrown, so I reset it. Upon leaving our campsite, the sliders wouldn't retract. "OH NO" Then I remembered playing under the steps.. Re-flipped the breaker, an all was well, now I know what the breaker does..:S

RE: Recharge Coach Batteries???

Happened to me a few weeks ago, I had turned off the coach battery disconnect while filling propane, forgot to turn back on. Was plugged into 50 AMP no problems, other than my batteries weren't charging due to disconnect,, Started Coach an poof all working as they are supposed to be. How old are your batteries, check water, also check the reset on your genny.

RE: Best, cheap Insurance

I have Geico, (insured by Foremost) but Geico sells the contract, excellent service an price. I even have full timers insurance through them, an was cheaper than regular RV insurance from the others.

RE: Black & Grey holding tank valves

Before you do that, IMHO try this first. Empty both tanks. Then spray half a can of silicone spray up the discharge pipe while operating valve. Put a squirt or two on the rod also. Repeat for second valve. Bet it fixes it. Thanks Chuck, I will try this, just this week, broke 1/2 of the tee, just a matter of time.. Really hard to close.

RE: Santa Cruz, California in the late Fall

There is a great place in Aptos, at the state park, down by the cement ship. We have also stayed a month in Ben Lomond at Santa Cruz Redwoods,Santa cruz mountains. however it was a bit expensive, same price for 3 weeks or 4 was at 1K, beautiful area though an quite.

RE: WIND!!

Good luck, we have stayed at Myrtle beach A LOT an the wind is ALWAYS there, almost anywhere in Horry county it is windy, you must remember you are right on the coast, even inland 50 miles it is still windy.. As for the temperature I suspect another month or so, should be constant 70ish..

RE: RV Park Website lies rant

I had this same experience from NC to CA 2 years ago, 7200 mile road trip. 5 Star rating, well that needs to be taken in account that at one time maybe. But I did find, any place was do-able for a night or two. I did make sure though that our long term parking, hookup needs were resort affirmed when I was staying more than 2 weeks at a time. I utilized the Internet a lot for this aspect. However after the trip, it was a blessing to get back to our home park (were full timers) which IS a 5 star resort, makes you really realize how wonderful our park is in Jackson Springs NC.

RE: I'm a retired salesman

I think it can be said with any sales, buyer beware. I have had great experience with my 4 RV purchases in my life. The biggest I hear anymore are at the members only camping memberships, after all is said an done, many people (after a cooling off period) regret their choices. We are all responsible for our own choices, so no whining, do your homework before purchasing anything. I know I saved about 20K on my last RV purchase, due to my own due diligence. One of my favorite sayings is.."You learn more as you go though life"

RE: Electric use for appliances

The only problem you may run into is only 1 AC will be available at a time, other than that you should be OK with 30AMP an not much inconvience.

RE: Waxed front cap - left smudge marks, advice???

I ran out and got one of the Meguiars DA Power Systems. I'll see how it works tomorrow. http://www.autogeek.net/meguiars-da-power-system.html This will work fine, now you have learned a valuable lesson, strip oxidation first an save your arms..:W

RE: Flood damage

I think I would beg for totaled, you really don't know what problems you have or may have in the future.. both are electrical, seems the campground needs some.. improvements.

RE: Manual to Power Awning - Upgrade Current or get New?

I have had both. My current RV, I was hoping the dealer would exchange the power for the manual. No luck. My manual one was much more adjustable, pitch wise, tilt wise. The power is nice but also electrical, something else to worry about, in my book for my electric it is quite an ordeal if the motor fails to manually put the awning away.

RE: Question about ACs & Power

The thermostat on ours allows you to pick either, or both, AC's you want to run. Ours does too, you will be limited to one or the other but both running at 30 AMP wont work.

RE: Need or want?

Mixed opinions, I prefer boon docking. Just in the process of installing the inverter behind the already installed Solar array. However the DW sure likes the full hookup which we have used the last 3 years in our travels. You always have the option of either. Enjoy..
