Polarized Plugs

Is the guy who invented 'Polarized' plugs the most hated, cursed person in history, at Christmas time? :M

Ft.Wilderness-Campfires ??

Going to Disneyworld and staying at Ft.Wilderness RV park next week. We'll be in the 'Pet' loop. Do they allow campfires at each site?
If not that...do they allow a fire in a small, mobile, screen enclosed fireplace w/lid, on wheels?

RE: Camping in Curry Hammock (Keys)

Very nice, small campground. Fairly new. Great baths/showers. Very large, paved backin sites. Some waterfront. All with ocean views. NO shade. Not too good for swimming. Sand is kinda sand/muck mix. and very shallow to about 1/4 mile out. Main thing to do is fish and rent Kayak around the island(yes Island)thru mangrove tunnel. Very neat.

RE: Florida to Nevada best time to go?

Mesquite is about 90 miles north of Vegas, just south of St. George, Utah which is only about 20 miles from Zion Nat'l Pk. Forget Vegas and go there...HAY...THAN U may as well see nearby Bryce Nat'l Pk. and THAN, since U'll be on Utah RT.12 U may as well go on up to Capital Reef Nat'l Pk...HAY...U may as well head up to I-70 and go see Arches & Canyonlands Nat'l Pks at Moab and Rt128 back up to I-70 east into Colorado and over to Aurora...

RE: Florida to Nevada best time to go?

What part of Nevada? If its Vegas area, its very windy/rainy all along I-10 in the spring(March/April)but the temps are good. Late fall(October)is ok, but it can still be hot in the Death Valley area. This year it was still 112 degrees there 1st week of October.

I like Rt.6. We've taken it several times over the years. Last time was in August on way from Miami to Seattle. I like the scenery along it also. Never had a problem with traffic or speedsters.

RE: Dometic Class Action

The grounds for a suit is that THE FIX fixes NOTHING! The original problem is still there! The original, flawed, gas fitting can crack open, leaking gas near the flame!!! :M The recall only adds a possible removal of gas AFTER the EXISTING problem leaks gas and starts a fire!!! And a increased metal flam shield to HOPEFULLY contain 'THE FIRE'. The 'FIX' must sense that you're on fire before it will remove the propane gas!! By that time, lots of other stuff may be ON FIRE!!! Hope you're not asleep!!!:S
Oopps...almost forgot..."In my humble OPINION".:R

RE: New/Old Goodyear G670 RV Motorhome Tires

If U bought new tires that were already 3 years old when U mounted em, the 3 year warranty is already over according to GoodYear.

RE: 8 Weeks, Fl. to Seattle & Back

Its still open and busy. Its called the Timberline Lodge & Hotel. Its on the south flank of Mt.Hood. In the film that hotel was used for the outside shots. All inside stuff was somewhere else, maybe the Queen Mary.

RE: 8 Weeks, Fl. to Seattle & Back

WE'RE BACK!!! Our 8 weeks somehow turned into 11. Was a great trip with only 2 slight difficulties. We left Miami 3 Aug. Headed up to Seattle, Wa. to see the daughter's ne home. Had to stop in Ocala, Fl. 1st to get the front end aligned. The outside edge of the right front tire was scrubbing away. The place next door to the Ford dealer did a very bad $175 job so I had to have it realigned in Montgomery, Al. at Moody's Tire/automotive. They took us rite in and did an excellent Laser Alignment job for only $75.
Our route west took us to see the Elvis birthplace at Tupelo, Ms. Be ware of Mississippi campgrounds. We stayed at two. Both had bad power at the pedestals. The 1st had the wireing mixed(Ground/Neutral and the second could only deliver 105 Vols AC. Very bad for our airconditioners.
We zipped across 100 degree weather until we reached Great Sand Dunes Nat'l Pk.. Than next to Black Canyon Gnnison. Both very nice places. Than Zipped again to Columbia River Gorge on the Wa/Or border. Also took a side trip to Mt Hood and the hotel of the movie 'Shinning' fame. On up to Seattle.
The return trip was down the Oregon coast. We than crossed over to see Crater Lake. Down the center of Califand over to Yosemite. HAY!!! Ther are NO FALLS there the 1st WEEK of October!!! GHAAA...NOBODY TOLD ME!!! Had a great time anyways. Stayed at the Crane Flats campground for 9 nights. Its water only, but much better than the crowded, bumper to bumper traffic in the valley.
We left out the east exit and did a short side trip to see the Ghost Town of Bodie a few miles north of the 395 junction. Except for the visit with daughters family, This was the gem of the trip. What an amazing place. The whole town was left in it original state as when the last person left town. Most were force to leave with just the clothes on their back after settleing their money accounts at the mines 'Company Store'. It is a TRUE Ghost Town!
Heading down Rt.395 we planned to cross Death Valley, but the temps were still over 111 degrees there. Who-Dah thunkit...That hot in mid October! So we continued on south to the Mohave desert and I-10 east and south west to Ft. Davis Tx. and south to Big Bend Nat'l Pk. After a week riding the backroads of that desert we headed(Zipped) on back to Miami where the hurricane season is almost OVER...YEAH!!!:C

RE: New/Old Goodyear G670 RV Motorhome Tires

We just returned from a trip in August, during which we had to replace one of the rear GoodYear RV 670s because it had a 3" long 'Worm like' bubble in the sidewall on our 2006 motorhome. I bought the rig new in 2007 but was told Goodyear wouldn't honor any warranty because the 'date of manufacture' on the tire was outside the 3 year period even tho I only owned it for 2 years! No more Goodyear tires for me!!!

RE: Run A/C on 20 amp connection

U MUST monitor the ACVolts inside the RV with a digital meter. I hope U have a 'Kil-O-Watt' meter. Don't let the voltage go below 108 Volts or u'll damage u'r AC unit(Compressor)

RE: Campgrounds on lake within walking distance of a neat town

hMMM...DEPENDS ON HOW FAR u CAN WALK...Perhaps North Georgia. The town of Helen and there is a beautiful State park on a perfect small mountain lake, about 2 miles north, called UniCoi. I'd suggest a bicycle.
