RE: ~Post your campsite photos here~

Had a wonderful long weekend at Up the Creek RV Campground http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u308/scott45044/Camping/Smokies%20April%202014/IMG_9094_zps64af9743.jpg height=600 width=800 Holy Cow!!! That's one heck of a grill set-up to be using while camping, how do you transport it? Doug The RV camp provides the grill/kitchen for a price of course

RE: Another trip to Lost Dutchman SP in Apache junction Arizona

Just returned from another visit to Lost Dutchman SP. The weather was gorgeous and though the park is full of snowbirds (always make reservations at least through the end of April), they have added a number of additional sites with more under construction. The Arizona State Parks Service is doing their "Once every 5 year" surveys. Completing the 6 page, very detailed questionnaire gets you a free night of camping (my bride and I each did one making our weekend or the next one essentially free), and includes a shot at winning a new I Pad. It was nice to be able to have our input taken on what we liked/disliked etc., and what we would like to see for the future. After passing out the survey the Ranger just asked us to fill it out and hang it from the post at our site and they collected them the next day. If you are going to be in the Apache junction area this SP is worth your time. Lots to see and do in the area and the amenities are outstanding. It is nice to live just 84 miles down the road as we visit several times a year. Oh well, we are off to Quartzite next week for the RV show and all of the attendant craziness. The temps were in the high 60's/low 70's and the nights cooled all the way down to 40. Just another brutal winter here in sunny Arizona. :B http://i549.photobucket.com/albums/ii362/Captottersea/DSC_0754_zps125cb803.jpg What is the site number? Did it have water/electric? Thanks

RE: Another one bites the dust - or will soon anyway

Not as long as y'all keep paying those exorbitant fees. You can't put a price tag on memories. If you did, we wouldn't have any. That is an excellent quote....Thank You.

RE: Flagstaff 625d

I have a 2010 flagstaff 625d with the power lift For the life of me I can not figure out how to crank the top should the power motor fail I have a crank but I can't seem to find where it goes. Thx There should be a piece of plastic you can remove from the top of the motor cover and the crank goes in there. There is a picture here. It looks like they removed the cover completely for the tutorial Flagstaff Lift System

RE: Sleeping on a J-Steel Sofa

We are shopping for a new camper and like the layout of the Jayco Feather X23B. This model uses a 3 cushion J-Steel Sofa (found in many other Jayco campers) in the bump out as one of the beds. It appears from the pictures I can find, that you sleep across the 3 cushions. One person is up against the wall and "trapped" by the other person. Has any one figured out a way to sleep the other way, using some custom cut foam to fill in the crack ? How short would you have to be to not have your feet hanging off the end this way ? Only one adult would sleep comfortably on the sofa. Two can snuggle on the dinette. We are very happy with our X23B. Dumping has not been a problem nor have I dragged the bottom yet and have been in pretty steep driveways at gas stations and campgrounds.

RE: North Dallas/Addison

Shady Creek RV Park This is a very clean park just west of the very north end of the tollway and depending on the time of day it would be a reasonable commute to Addison. I live very close to it and used to commute to Addison to work.

RE: Need advise towing I-70 West going from Denver to Vail

Hi, This is my 2nd trip with my camper trailer and would like to hear advise or experiences towing a camper on I-70. I have a camper whose dry weight is 3080 lbs and has a 46G fresh water tank that will be full. My overall estimate of the weight of the camper would be about 5200 lbs plus 350 lbs of camping gear on my truck bed. I am towing the camper with a Nissan Titan V8 with a Tekonsha P3 brake controller set at 7.0 I've driven that route many times on my car and I know the speed limit varies with a max of 65 mph. what is the recommended speed or advised speed for towing a camper that size on some of those 6% grade down slopes for a distance of over 8 miles? Should I take frequent pit stops to cool the brakes and engine? Please help. Do you really need the fresh water tank to be completely full?

RE: black water tank

So we have been using it. Seems like it is getting full. If it doesn't drain tomorrow how do you unclog these? Thanks for all the advice These help clean the black tank out RV Hydroflush and the tank wand Valterra RV Products

RE: black water tank

I've got dual 40-gallon black tanks. No need for a gauge, if I ever fill these up I'll have bigger problems to address LOL But seriously, if you know the capacity of your black tank, and it's anything over a few gallons, then you really don't have much to worry about as far as filling it up. Used the toilet with great success on our first trip. Congratulations :B Having dual 40 gallon black tanks would be great on our hybrids.

Fall Creek Falls State Park, Tennessee

I will be coming from the west through Nashville I-40, what is the best route to Fall Creek Falls State park? I am hoping to avoid as many steep grades as possible, if it that is possible. Thank You
