RE: Overnighting at Showboat in Atlantic City

I was in Atlantic City a couple of years ago and at that time -- you were not allowed to stay in your RV inside the city limits.
Parts of Atlantic City can be very rough - especially if you get off the boardwalk area where the casinos are located.

RE: North Carolina State Fairgrounds - Raleigh

There are some sites inside the fence on the Youth Center Rd. side and Blue Ridge Rd. side. Also some sites outside the fence on the Trinity Rd. side. You should be able to see a map on the web site.
NC Agriculture Dept.
If you stay there -- on weekends there is a Flea Market on Sat. & Sun. that takes place around the exhibition halls on the Hillsborough
St. & Blue Ridge Rd. area.
Happy Trails.

RE: 2 dogs vs. 1 dog-separation anxiety question

We had two Jack Russells that we got as puppies ( they were half sisters). They entertained each other and were good for each other.
They bonded with us with out any problems. We were blessed with their love for 14 years.
We now have two JRT rescues -- we got them together and they are about 3 years old. They have been together since they were puppies and are adapting & bonding with us.

RE: Yes, I know, I'm nuts!

Thank you --I work with rescue dogs and the shelters are overflowing.
Plus you know you are in trouble when your mother calls you by your first and middle name. My mother always got my attention by doing that.

RE: Taking Yorkie to Alaska

Take him -- we took our two jack russells and had a great trip.
Like the previous post -- you need paper work from your vet. ref. vaccinations and health.
If you have not had him --microchiped -- I would recommend you get that done.
You might want to check the restrictions if any ref. types of dog food that you can take into Canada. Should not be a problem if you are only passing through.
Have a great trip.

RE: Denali & dogs

Don't know if this will be much help -- we stayed in the campground that is closet to the visitor's center. We had our two dogs and did not have any problems.
You might check the Denali web site. Hope you have a safe trip-- we had a great time.

RE: camping at Jordan Lake

Campgrounds are nice --large lots water & elec. -- some only have water hookups. Dump stations on site.
The gates close at dusk -- some do not like this -- I personally like the gates being locked.
You can now make reservations on line -- for dates starting in July or it might be Aug. check the NC State parks website.

RE: Can you park a Class A at Six Flags?

All the parks that I have been to have large lots for buses and rvs. You will pay more than parking a car.
Most of the time I take the toad into town --- on our New England trip -- Bar Harbour had parking for RVs. I would check before I drove my MH into town.

RE: Fly a rainbow??

The rainbow is associated with an alternate lifestyle but a windsock at a campground should be harmless.
If you like the windsock then fly it.

Beginning in April -- you can make reservations online -- check out the Park web site.
A recommendation for a site would be based on what area you want to visit.

RE: Bill Plemmons RV Campground, Raleigh, NC

The campground at Bill Plemmons RV has been updated -- it is not fancy but is a place to park with hook-ups. It is convenient to downtown and other local areas. The staff at the dealership is very friendly and helpful.
Bill Plemmons RV 800-820-8710
The NC State Fairgrounds has several spaces with hook-ups -- there is an RV show Feb. 27- March 1 at the fairgrounds and a flea market every weekend.
NC State Fairground 919 821-7400
There are some State parks in the area but they close the gates at sunset.

RE: state parks in NC

Beginning in April 2009 -- you will be able to make reservations for NC State parks through a link on the web site.
Most all of the State parks now have sections with hookups -- not sewer but there are dump stations at the parks.
The alcohol rule is enforced only if there is a public display of the alcohol. As long as you consume only on your campsite and do not openly display it -- you will not have any problems.
