RE: Towing Honda Fit

The Ready Brake system is a surge brake that is built into the Ready Brute Elite tow bar and it does not use any electrical power from the motor home or the toad. You can also get a Ready Brake system to use with your existing tow bar. I went to my Honda dealer and got a plain metal key made without the built in chip that will allow me to use it to unlock the steering wheel and leave it in the ignition but it wont start the car. $10.

RE: Towing Honda Fit

Okay, I'm going to use a disconnect switch. I figure if I went with the fuse by-pass switch I would still have to reprogram the radio and clock and it costs $70-$80, a battery disconnect cost $15. If I do nothing I run the risk of killing the battery. Thanks to everyone who responded . If anyone might be interested I am going to use the Ready Brake Elite tow bar system with the breakaway option, and a Blue Ox baseplate.

RE: CampingWorld has lost another Customer and refs for life!

The no return policies for generators started with the Y2K scare and everyone ran out and bought a generator just in case then tried to return them when nothing happened.

Towing Honda Fit

I am going to tow my Honda Fit and the owners manual says to remove the 30 amp radio fuse so as not to drain the battery while towing. The fuse is not easy to get to so I was wondering if I installed a battery disconnect and used that instead of a bypass switch ($80) or removing the fuse. I asked at my local Honda dealer if there is any reason I should not do this but as usual they do not know much about towing four down.

RE: Carpenter Ants

I have had very good results with a product called HOT SHOT. It is a pest strip that you put almost anywhere in your RV. I usually put several around the RV, some in the basement and also in the living area. They last about 3 months or so and there is no odor that I could detect. One time I used it I could see the ants leaving for some area with better living conditions. I use them as a deterrent to keep insects at bay. It kept even spiders that liked to spend the winter in a park model I had.

RE: Furnace start-up procedures on a 2009 BT crusier

What has already been said. Turn on gas, purge air via lighting the stove, select the heat setting on the thermostat. The fan should start and run for a little while then the furnace should light and start to produce heat. I own a 2007 BT Cruiser and I'm sure things have not changed.

RE: April camping in Lancaster PA area - suggestions PLEASE

Country Acres is part of the Bird in Hand Corp. We had a BT Cruiser rally there a couple of years ago and it is a real nice place. Sign up for the free bus tour of the area.

RE: April camping in Lancaster PA area - suggestions PLEASE

I think Oak Creek and Lake in Wood is the closest to Coatesville out of the ones mentioned, I never camped in Oak Creek but I had a seasonal site in Lake in Wood and I can tell you it is probably the best in that area. Plenty of things for the kids and the indoor pool just might be open then also. Over on Rt 30 in Kinsers there is Roamers Retreat that is closer to Coasteville.I also like Country Acres in Gordonville.

RE: buying the correct tow dollie

Here's how I look at it. If i'm involved in an accident while towing my car on a tow dolly, I want to be the one that decides whether or not I need brakes not some attorney.

I would try getting some tie wraps, you can get them up to 3 feet in length and put two together if needed.
