RE: Will the class A RV industry survive?

Simple answer, yes...You will see several of the big ones going out of business and the strong will survive. Hopefully those that do will recognize that quality and service will keep them going.

RE: Verizon Droid??? Anyone have one yet???

I tried one yesterday at verizon store..only prob I have is my contact is not up on my blackberry.
they are calling the droid the Iphone killer.
I can believe it. verizon has a much better service area than at&t and with the droid I see them pulling a lot of at&t users to them.\
just my opinion.

RE: Newmar Mountain Aire spare tire?

I wouldn't change a tire on my cars, why would I ever consider changing one on my MOHO.
I dont get it..why would anyone travel without a road side service.
I have seen people along side the road trying to change a tire on their moho. to save a few bucks a year, it isnt worth it.
if you can carry an unmounted spare, great.

RE: Independence RV, Wintergarden Florida

just one question...did you take it for a test drive at least. apparently you didnt have it checked out by an independant service.
if you bought on sight alone, the price must have been very agreeable to you. again, as is , is as is...sounds like a simple transaction to me.

RE: Independence RV, Wintergarden Florida

I bought my 04 kountry star, new, from Independence and found them to be one of the most professional group I ever dealt with, especially the service department.
I never have been dissatisfied with them. Todd has always been more than helpful and the entire staff...one time I called them when I was on the road and they walked me thru a problem.
Sorry you bought a unit, used apparently, that you found things wrong with...but as stated in other post, you bought as is.
anyone who buys used and doesnt have it checked out , especially on a high end product, is foolish.
again, Independence is a good company to deal with.

RE: Diamond Shield Removal

I have been instructed to use aero 303 after I wipe down the seams with a clorox/water solution and then let it air dry.
Will check on this plexus stuff also...

RE: Diamond Shield removal and replacement

I didnt post to debate the pros and cons..the purpose was to tell you my experience with this product and the techs work.
Hopefully with the use of both clorox and aero 303 I will have better luck this time around. If not, will remove it permanently.
As to how long it is suppose to last. I have read that some people have had it on for years and no problems.
Will see.

RE: Diamond Shield removal and replacement

The tech told me that a lot depended on how soon the party has the shield removed. He said the longer you wait and the worse the "discoloration" gets, the harder it is to remove without damaging the paint..
I contacted diamond shield as soon as I saw the discoloration appearing.
This guy was very professional and really knew what he was doing. He put the new shield on, and in fact I had to look twice to even see it.

Diamond Shield removal and replacement

I was having a problem with discoloration around the edges of the Diamond Shield on mr MOHO..
It was replaced at the factory a little over 2 years ago...I called Diamond Shield and after explaining what was happening, they told me they would replace it at their cost but I would be responsible for any repainting that would be necessary...OK
I was apprehensive after hearing the horror stories of others on how hard it was to remove this stuff, the paint damage, etc..
The tech came this am and I spoke to him..He reassured me that he would do all he could not to damage the paint. He said most of the times damage was due to the fact that people waited to long before they replaced the diamond shield that was effected on their MOHO.
then I asked him about using scrapers etc..
He said no he didnt do that..
He commenced to use an ordinary hair dryer...It took him less than an hour to remove the old shield. Again I heard stories where people were saying it took them most of the day to remove the stuff one little piece at a time using a scraper, etc. and then had to clean "all" the glue off the paint..
In my case there was one little strip of what appeard to be a clear glue, which he removed with a little alcohol.
There was one dime size piece of paint removed and that was where the license plate fit over...he touched that up.
This guy was honest and good.
I would highly recommend him to anyone who is interested in replacing their diamond shield
He is located out of Lake City, Fla 863-853-2125.....
SMC Diversified Services.
They subcontract for Diamond Shield.

RE: Alaska able MH

I have made the trip and would do it again in a minute and plan on it..
there were some spots where the road was bad, but you slowed down. the dips from ice heaves were something at times...
the damage I had was to my toad, windshield and moon roof..a couple of minor chips in moho windshield but I could have gotten them anywhere.
we made the trip in our 2004 kountry star. It is a trip of a lifetime as far as I am concerned.
