RE: Toy Hauler or travel trailer?

I have never regretted my decision to buy a toy hauler. Sometimes I take an off-road gocart, sometimes a motorcycle, sometimes both and sometimes no toys at all. Toys or not - the built in generator and larger tanks sold me. Two of us can go easily for 3 days straight tailgating in a parking lot knowing we have plenty of water (150 gals), plenty of holding tank (120 gal combined),and 70+ hours of run time on the generator. Loading for a trip thru the ramp is a breeze. Also, for hurricane season I wired a recepticle on the side of the trailer so I can run most of my house, plus the trailer in the event of a power outage.

RE: What did you do to your Toy Hauler today???

Spent 3 hours yesterday tracking down a "gremlin" with the generator. It would start from the remote switch, but not shut off. Local switch worked fine for both start and stop. Lots of poking and prodding with a multimeter, along with some trial and error and wadda ya know? I found a broken wire. Ready for tailGATORing ! Glad you found the cause. Me too, Dave. I've messed with it several times over the last few months without success, but other than exercising it really haven't used the gen much lately. It was a PIA to go out, remove the hot Genturi, open the compartment, pull the gen cover off and hit the local switch. We're planning a trip to Ocala for Thanksgiving Day where we'll be on gen power and then on to Gainesville for Gators vs Noles. The genny will be on and off several times over a 4 day period, so I'm glad I got it done.

Gators vs Noles - Gainesville - November 30

Been a few years since I've been there - Is there still free tailgating in the Hilton lot?

And the house is still falling down??? I love your priorities. I do the same but I'm single and can do as I see fit. As long as the dog is fed, LOL. Yep - I'm single, too, and I like it that way. On about the 4th day, live-in girlfriend says, "You're not getting much done on the house." I said, "You're right." She likes to camp too, so there was not alot of complaining.

RE: What did you do to your Toy Hauler today???

I took a week off to work on my house. That being said, I spent 5 days working on the Rage'n, 1 day to rest, half-a-day on the house and half-a-day watching football. Now I need to take another week ! The toyhauler got washed / waxed, all the insert trim replaced, plumbing vents replaced, numerous stickers and decals removed, front cap polished out, leaky tire fixed, new LED patio lights, new antenna head, numerous light bulbs replaced . . . all ready for camping season to begin!

Looking for RV park close to Wikee Watchee in Florida.

We're looking at doing some canoeing at Weeki Watchee SP, but they don't have camping. Can anyone recommend a good place that's fairly close? Thanks, Al

RE: You MIGHT be an RV'r if . . .

. . . having run short on time before a camping trip, you have only washed the "door side" on your camper.

RE: Shorter/Lighter Toy Hauler with walk around queen bed

I couldn't justify a TH for a couple of pedal bikes... Throw em in the back of the truck or pick up a bike rack. Lot more options with a TTHi, although mine carries a lot of different toys, there are many times its just a couple of bikes. With the toyhauler you also get the extra capacities for fresh water and waste not to mention the gen set. Exactly - I went with a TH for the same reasons. 150 gal freshwater + 116 gallon combined black and greywater + 5500 watt power source = Hurricane Kit.

RE: Tips Needed for Buying first Travel Trailer

We have some small Coleman and Starcraft travel trailers here on our lot with the smaller, wall-mounted A/C units. One nice thing is that they only draw like 5 amps, so will easily run with a 2000 watt generator. Seem to do a pretty good job of keeping up, even in Florida in the summertime. There's not a lot of cubic feet of air to cool in these small trailers.
