RE: Senior Pass Price Hike

When I turned 62 in May, my friend Pam suggested I go online and get my Pass. Well . . . when I saw that there was an additional $10 fee, I said "No way! We'll just drive out to WP Franklin Locks (COE) Campground and buy it there!" Fast forward to July . . . With the deadline approaching, we picked a Saturday to drive the 30 miles from home to the campground, only to find it was closed for repairs. Fortunately there was a phone number posted and the sweet lady on the other end of the line informed me we needed to go to Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel Island. No problem . . . that's only 43 miles back the way from whence we just came. On our way through Ft Myers we stopped at a shop where she bought a $50 dress, we grabbed a late lunch and then met some other folks for happy hour. I don't specifically remember the amount of that bar tab, but . . . anyway. Went home and decided to go on out to Sanibel the next morning. Jumped up the next morning, paid the $6 toll for the bridge, went to Lighthouse Café for a terrific ($35) breakfast, and hit 2 more boutiques on our way to purchase my Pass. Sure glad I saved that $10 . . . LOL!

RE: Solar Eclipse viewing - So Carolina

It lasts only a few minutes. I'm sure any parking lot would work. That's the plan for now . . . just checking on other options.

Solar Eclipse viewing - So Carolina

We are scheduled to take delivery of our new Vintage Cruiser on Saturday, the 19th and then plan to head up to So Carolina to experience the total solar eclipse. Anyone know of a place to park? I'm guessing campgrounds are probably all booked, but wondered about private individuals with boondocking parking venues? I'm thinking somewhere between Columbia and Charleston, as that would be closest coming from Florida.

RE: Grey tank to black tank crossover

I did this mod on my Rage'n and it works great. Single grey tank is 58 gal and single black tank is 58 gal. They are side by side, with about a foot between them. I drilled and tapped into both tanks with a brass garden hose thread fitting from Lowe's. Made a section of garden hose to connect them and when the grey tank is full, it flows over into the black tank. About once a year, I remove the hose and make sure it's not clogged with crud. Two adults can go for days with dishwashing, showers, etc. with no issues! I posted pics on here years ago, but have no idea where they might be.

RE: Simple question about Vintage (or Vista) Cruiser 19ERD

That is a pretty light trailer. If you are considering a hitch height for an initial get home tow or to determine vehicle squat or if you want a weight distribution hitch I would go with 19" to the top of the ball. Towing and vehicle dynamics will probably require height changes so getting it right from the outset will be a tough go. Have fun with that trailer. Thanks for the replies - all I needed to know is the distance from the ground to the top of the coupler, with the trailer sitting level. I don't think this trailer will squat my 2500HD 4x4 very much.

Simple question about Vintage (or Vista) Cruiser 19ERD

We are going to pick up a new Vintage Cruiser 19ERD in a week or so and I need to set up my hitch height. What is the height of the coupler on this model trailer? Thanks, Al

RE: Vintage Cruiser 19ERD - What's the difference?

30/30 on holding tanks is good but only 28 of fresh water? Not good for dry/boondocking. And I'm not a fan of two wheel trailers...even light ones. True - I thought that was very low capacity for fresh water. I currently carry 150 gallons in my toy hauler.

Vintage Cruiser 19ERD - What's the difference?

We are considering a Vintage Cruiser 19ERD. I see there are a few new 2017 models available, as well as the 2018's. Seems to be a bit of a price increase for the 2018's . . . I realize most dealers are trying to clear out the previous year's models but I also wondering if anyone knows of any big differences in the 2 model years?
