RE: I Need to Vent!!!

Typical dealer experience. After the sale they don't know you. The solution is an easy one. Stay off of dealers lots. Buy from a private party and if necessary hire an experienced person to help you checkout the stuff you are interested in.
Buying from one dealer, going to another for warranty service may not be the best thing either. You'll definitely go to the end of the line in that case.
Fix everything you can yourself, and if you are not handy you had better get handy. It will definitely enhance your enjoyment of the RV experience.

RE: Need help with hood locks - pictures included

Find an RV parts place. These in varying lengths of reach are pretty common. You should be able to walk in and find them at any well equipped RV parts supply store.

RE: Generator wont start

Your unit is at the right age to need all rubber fuel lines replaced both on the gen and any that may be feeding the main engine.
Definitely check the fuel line from the tank to the gen fuel pump.
They get so rotted that they allow the pump to suck air preventing any flow of fuel. Jack.

RE: AZ Roads

Have done it numerous times prior to the length restriction. Not a big deal. Be careful and if you have a coach with an exhaust brake that's all you need to go down Yarnell hill safely. Do it right and you'll never have to get on the brakes.

RE: Abused/closed Campgrounds and people and trash

Wow, This group of responses really hits the nail on the head. As we have added population in The U.S.it seems that littering and trashing areas along with plain old fashioned vandalism have radically increased.
I am totally amazed that Walmart still allows overnighters and some are allowed to stay beyond that. Most walmart parking lots are absolutely filthy around the perimeter where overnighting is allowed.
Just one example in an urban area, The examples in rural areas far outnumber the urban examples plus the garbage just as described old refrigerators, mattresses, tires, batteries, sewage from pump trucks wanting to avoid tipping fees at municipal facilities, and on and on.
The solution is not easy to identify because the culprits slink away. So the easy and cheap way out is to close, fence off, lockup, post no trespassing signs, etc. That way everybody who plays by the rules loses along with the offenders who could care less and just move to the next spot.

Check the bad lights' ground. Trailer lighting is notorius for bad
grounds. Loose and/or dirty grounds are the biggest culprits.

RE: Water Heater Question (vent has drip)

The simple explanation is that your water heater is what is known in the business as water logged. Meaning that the heater is to full allowing excess water to seep out the safety relief valve. Turn off the water source to the heater and drain a quart or so out of the hwater. This creates an air space at the top of the tank and prevents water from seeping from the safety. Often times these valves will seep after replacement with a new one if the air space is not provided for.

RE: Kwikee steps not extentending

Y0u are the first I have heard of that cannot purchase a motor or controller for Kwikee steps. Contact Kwikkee with the part numbers of what you have and they can tell you what numbers replace them. RV stores even possibly Camping World can help you get the proper controller. You might be able to find the relays but I don't believe a lasting and reliable fix is going to result going that way. Controllers of your vintage were replaced with different part numbers and styles depending on the steps.

RE: Chassis battery charging

Someone mentioned Tric-L-Start for use when you need a charge source for your crank battery. This is the ticket for that purpose.
Reasonably priced,reliable, and trouble free.
The OPs coach is designed to charge both house and starting batteries. Why add a trickle charger instead of fixing what's wrong to begin with. That would be a band-aid to me...
Jim
A lot of coach manufacturers on Their so called Designed to charge both house and starting batteries use the Tric-l-start in their design to accomplish the task. If not a tric-l-start then a similar product. So to fix what's wrong to begin with something like a Tric-l-start or Get it up is part of the fix. NOT A BAND AID,
Sorry, but I disagree. Unless you determine that the coach has a Tric'L'start, and that it's bad, just adding one doesn't fix what's wrong, and most definitely is a band-aid. The OP needs to diagnose the problem, and fix whatever is broken/failed. If the coach uses a Tric-L and it's bad, great, replace it. But without knowing what failed, it's just a patch.
Jim
Sorry but i too disagree. That style charger is used as original equipment by several RV builders. Something of this design is used and can and does go bad. The fix is another of the type that failed or an item like a TRIC-L-START. It is not a Band Aid. Most coaches on an inverter will use a system such as discussed here and the chassis battery is on the receiving end of a trickle charge.

RE: steering wandering 1991 pace arrow

How many miles are on this coach. If you mentioned it I must have missed it. Anyhow donot adjust the steering box at this stage. That may or may not be needed later. Do the following.
1 Check all tie rod ends.
2 check the idler arms for condition, and check the bolts holding them to the frame for tightness. Loose or worn idler arms will drive you all over the road.
3 Check the bolts holding the steering box to the frame (chassis).
4 Be sure the air bags are in place and hold air. About 50lbs. min.
Your case may require a higher pressure.
5 Once you are satisfied all of the above are in order and you have settled on the pressure you are going to run in the air bags be sure and maintain that pressure as changing it alters the front end alignment.
6 With everything in good shape go in for a front end alignment using a shop and tech you can trust and talk to. Align to the GM specs for the year of your chassis except for the Castor. Increase the castor 1/2-1 degree +.
Hope this works for you. It did wonders for a similar chassis I had under a M/H a few years ago.

RE: Any dealings with Morrison's V.I.P. in Fresno, Ca.?

I donot know anyone who they have done a slide for. About 10 years ago I had a customer who was interested. I researched this vendor and viewed their demo coach at the Quartzsite show. Talked to one of the owners. Their demo was a class C on an older Dodge Chassis. It was impressive. Sometime in that time frame one of the Brother/owners passed away. Since that time I have not heard anything about the co. At that time they had many albums of photos of their work. Impressive. My customer did not have his done. Wasn't willing to pay the price.

Most parts from an outfit like HWH go to O.E.Ms. (Original Equipment Manufacturers). Morrisons could fit that category. They do slideout additions on coaches not already equipped with slides.

Most any auto parts stores will have this. Usually they have lighted and unlit types. Be sure you get one that will carry the load.
They come in a variety of colors when lit as well.

RE: GMAC or State Farm motorhome insurance?

We have had State Farm on auto's and homes, rentals etc, for the last 40 plus years. They have never been competitive tho when we have tried to insure any of our motorhomes with them. I have found that the agent and office that is handling your policies also seems to play a role in this. I am presently shopping State Farm agents as the present office/agent that handles my policies is not very easy to deal with. I have requested another person whom I worked with for several years to handle my insurance and have been turned down by that office.
I recently changed carriers on the motorhome from Poli Seek to GMAC as Poli Seek was raising rates substantially with no explanation other than "we can". The Tow vehicle was due for renewal thru State Farm around the same time as the motorhome and the rate on it was increased with no explanation. I insured both the motorhome and tow vehicle with GMAC thru Good Sam. Insurance on the two vehicles was nearly $500.00 cheaper for a year. I have had no claims on either Co.

RE: Recirculating toilet for boondocking

I had a house boat with a Monomatic recirculating toilet and a 60-70 gallon blackwater holding tank. With that combination you could go a long time before having to hit the pump out station. The combination in a trailer or motorhome would indeed extend the time between dumping. Just beware that the recirculating toilet can get rank fast so be prepared to service it. If you get one you'll figure it out.
