RE: 30 AMP Questions? UPDATE

I took the motorhome to Giesecke RV in Kokomo, Indiana to have the re wiring work done. They took it in on a Tuesday promising to have it done by Friday. They called me Wednesday afternoon saying it was done. They took out the old 50 amp cord. Took out the extra breaker box the previous owner had installed and got rid of the excess wiring. Previous owner had put in two extra outlets to the outside of the rv. One of them was in with the hot water heater. The other was actually installed into the side. I thought it was normal. Looked like it belonged there. The third plug was ran up and under the bathroom and into the sink area of the kitchen. They installed a heater there to help keep things warm I guess. I also thought the heater came with the unit. The price for the new cord and the work.........138 bucks. I was amazed and very happy that it was done at such a great price. The old wiring they put under the bed in the storage area there and I stripped that and got 27 bucks for it at the salvage yard so it turned out really well. Labor rate is 70 bucks an hour so if your ever in the area Id recommend them. They did right by me for sure.

RE: Scam...Scam

Ive bought and sold quite a few items with the help of Craigslist. Just always be wary and dont reply to texts or emails sending you phone numbers from other states or countries. I would never send money before looking at an item from any site.

RE: Which bank is the best for full timing

We have had USAA for a couple of years and we are planning on keeping it as our sole bank provider when we hit the road in 9 days. They even reimburse atm fees for the month. I do think they limit it to 5 or 6, but that is better than others that charge you a fee on top of the atm fee that gets charged. You can always get cash back at the supermarket though as well. Good Luck

RE: maximum speed appears to be 76 mph why V10 30`classA

If you are wanting to go 80 in a class A please let me know. I dont want to be anywhere near that highway. I usually stay around 60 in my 28 footer.

RE: Steering problem. Does not go straight on highway

rajdude, I really hope you get that damper put back on. I put a new one on mine. I then put on new bell cranks which made a world of difference. I hated the 600 bucks, but I was able to do my own labor and they were well worth the price. I then had it aligned......I dont know if they did it right honestly, but on my way home I heard a little pop and my damper sheared the bolt off on one end. It drove really loose with the damper messed up. It is still driveable, but I wouldnt drive it that way for long.

RE: $5,000 + for new front brakes

Dont walk from this guys shop......RUN......and do a burn out in your rig as you go. I agree with others that if you can get up to northern Indiana. There are quite a few good service places up there.

RE: Steering problem. Does not go straight on highway

Check your bell cranks. Made a huge difference on mine. Took out the play in my steering wheel which is huge. Took it to get it aligned and now its loose again so I may need to have that re done. Good Luck

RE: 7.5x16D Tire Replacment

I know I have front airbags on mine but never looked to see if I had rear ones. Where would the fill point be for it if I do. I went with the 215 size tires on mine. The 7.5 size is much harder to find around here and a bit more pricey. Good luck to you with you are upgraded rig.

RE: NAMING the Land Yacht

We have more than one name for ours. I called it Super Duck because its a Mallard Sprinter. There is a real faded logo on the side saying McGeorge (its an rv place in VA) and thats what the DW calls it. I usually just call it Arv now......unless im working on it. When working on it I cant tell you what I call it.

RE: Information Discussion for Gate Guards

We see deer and other "normal" wildlife daily, but this evening was special. Had an adult cougar cross just in front of the RV, as the DW stepped out the door to walk the dog. As I said, we are waaaay out in the bush....:B Photos......where are they?

RE: Low priced leds, fast shipping

Glad to have found this link. Im redoing all the lights in our MH and had been lurking on some different LED pages. I really like that these have 3 different adapters and I really loved the price. Now I have to go and buy the rest of my clam shells to get them hard wired and ready for the LEDs to come in. Thanks for the info and the photos.

RE: Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement??

Guys Thanks a ton for the school bus web site. It looks to have everything I am going to need. Its what Ive been trying to find but to no avail. I knew when I was unable to find anything that more then likely I could get help here. I did try going to Napa,Auto Zone, Advanced Auto, a couple of scrap yards and 4 big rig places around here. None of them could help me. The one scrap yard I use for repairing my autos suggested a place quite a ways from here and I called them and they couldnt help me either cause they just dealt with big rig stuff. Thanks again, I really appreciate it.

Windshield Wiper Arm Replacement??

I have a 1990 Mallard Sprinter Class A Motorhome. I have some old dinosaur type windshield wiper blades that are screwed into the wiper arm. I thought I could replace them with the blade assemblies at any normal parts store, but the way it screws together doesnt let me. The wiper blade is really thin where it screws together with the arm. I thought okay.....Ill just replace the entire arm and blade. I put some liquid wrench on the bolt to help it loosen and let that sit there for 5 minutes or so. I came back and turned the wrench and the bolt sheared right off. Soooooo, now Ive had to cut it to get the assembly off the wiper motor. I have been looking online and around town for any shop or store that would have a blade/arm/assembly so I can put this back together. Ive had zero luck looking at rv salvage places online too. Most have blades, but it seems no one sells arms or the assembly that goes to the motor. (I think its called a wiper transmission, but im not sure) Does anyone know where I can find these parts. Id like to get a set because I know the other side is going to give me fits too so I might as well be prepared. Here is what the wiper intact and on the rv looks like: http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n552/kenjabroni/102_0379.jpg height=325 width=325 Here is an up close of the bolt and bottom of the arm. The bolt on the end is what sheared off. http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n552/kenjabroni/102_0380.jpg height=325 width=325 Here is the arm I took off: http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n552/kenjabroni/102_0381.jpg height=325 width=325 Here is the assembly. The left piece is what connects to wiper motor. Since the end piece (on the right) sheared off I couldnt remove the wiper assembly from the rv without cutting the middle part off. http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n552/kenjabroni/102_0382.jpg height=325 width=325 Thanks for any help you guys can send my way. RE: Finished one small step in my van conversion

Holy Moly. You do some amazing woodwork. Very very nice job. Great use of the space in the back doors too. Now I need you to help me on the two things I have to build haha. I doubt my finished effect even touches the skill you possess.
