We have one for the Cougar, It went through the wash, never worked quite right since, so I really didn't miss it, and wasn't going to pay 100 bucks to replace it. But I found one on eBay, bought it and programmed it. Use it all the time now.

Yikes! Just wanted a little info on the 3455SA, fellas. No need to get all ramped up about tires. I am aware of what an undersized, underinflated, underqualitied (?!) tire can do to a trailer, believe me. And thank you for the heads up. If I do make this deal, tires are at the top of the list. Again, thanks for responding. The insight from guys like you who have actually lived these trailers is so invaluable.

We have them here in SE Va. They are a 50 dollar fine, But they don't just get the red light runners, they get you if you roll through a right turn on red, and don't come to a complete stop.

Specs for a 2009 Ram 2500 SLT 4WD. From the Dodge website.
With 3.73 Axle Ratio Axle Ratio You Can Tow 12950 lbs
Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) = 9000 lbs
Payload = 2083 lbs
Curb Weight = 6917 lbs
Curb Weight Front/Rear = 4292 lbs/4292 lbs
GAWR Front/Rear = 5200 lbs/6010 lbs
Gross Combination Weight Rating (GCWR) = 20000 lbs
I would say before you load up the rig with supplies and fuel etc, your already overloaded.

I have a system from rearview safety. I rigged so I can use it while driving as well as backing. Works great for passing slower vehicles on the road, Or need to change lanes. Works great to back in but I rely more on my mirrors and getting out of the truck and surveying the spot I want to put the trailer. I just use the camera when backing to make sure I don't hit anything.

Just had both of mine replaced on our 2010 Cougar. I had to pay for labor and shipping of the axles back to Dexter, but they replaced all the running gear under a "Good Faith Gesture" since I only had 6k on the rig. Once they got the axles they found a defect in them and they sent me a check to reimburse the costs.

318SAB, No issues except axles were replaced by Dexter due to manufacture defects. Other than that no major issues. Very nice camper.

I had a 2006 Megacab 2WD Automatic. Took the camper and myself to the CAT scales, Had almost a 1/4 tank. Same camper that is in my sig. I was over by about 160 lbs. Now start adding camping stuff, dogs, firewood, etc And it adds up very quickly.
Steer Axle - 4220
Drive Axle - 4940
Trailer Axle - 8180
Gross - 17340
