RE: Holiday weekend

Wasnt meant to cause A ruckus. Actually was A post intended for another thread but clicked the wrong tab. We work fulltime also but we just tend to leave the holidays to the folks that dont have the opportunity to camp as often as we do. Plus the fact that we usually go with A group of 8 to 10 other units. Sorry if anyone was offended.

RE: Cedar Creek 5er..36CKTS "Whisper Air"

We also have the Whisper Air in the bedroom FL Model. Definate differance between that 1 and the dealer installed regular return in the living room. I still cannot for the live of me figure why all manufacturers dont just put 2 AC s on from the Factory once you get over 35 foot. Just some advise on forums, Cedar Creek RV club was the first CC club then there was A split to the other club that demands you own a CC to join plus Pay Dues. (and fit in) Then you have the Forest River Forums Both of these are full of people that actually will answer your questions. Just like here on RV net. And no dues to pay.

RE: Suburban 42 Q furnace wont ignite????

Fixed. Went out this morning and started fresh. Pulled the furnace out. checked the limit switch and all connections. Sealed the entire furnace box. Man what loss of heat had to be happening there. Used foil HVAC tape. Reinstalled the furnace, Blew out the propane line with air. Hit the thermostat still just tried to fire but wouldnt. Then I thought check the regulator. Well this regulator is adjustable so I counted the turns in to close(1 full turn) then I backed it out 1 1/2 turns and it works. Now tomorrow I will make that guage to make sure I am set to the right pressure. Have to say the flame on the stove is better. It had A lot of yellow to it now its blue with just A bit of yellow with all burners on. Thanks guys.

Suburban 42 Q furnace wont ignite????

The furnace in our 2013 Cedar Creek 38 FL will not ignite. Hot water heater and Stove work fine. Both tanks full. I purged the propane lines figured that could be A problem after sitting all winter. When the heater is turned on the blower runs great. I can hear the igniter arching. Then I can hear the propane ignite for maybe 2 seconds but it dosnt stay lit. This will happen 3 times then it goes into lock out. I can also faintly smell propane each time it tries to ignite. I disconnected the propane line at the heater and there is flow. I dont have A meter to read how much flow. with the stove top burning it seems like the heater dosnt even try to ignite. Any suggestions from anyone. We hate to take it back to the dealer as we just got it back after almost 3 months there for warranty work.

RE: Questions on 40+ footers???

There is A good amount of us here in SJ towing 40' plus 5ers. Some wit SRW some with DRW. Myself I have hauled with A SRW and I can say there is A noticable difference compared to my DRW. As far as sites go I dont jnow just where you are located but we have no problem getting our units in CGs. Not 1 locally that gives us a problem. Now down to the shore thats A different story. With our travels we just plan ahead when making res. we moved from A 36' to now 43' and towing diff is minimal. PM if you like maybe I can help A bit more

RE: Windows and cold weather

I have used those kits on the 2 Patio doors at our house and they do make a difference. If you do use them make sure you have them as snug as possible when you stick them to the tape. Then when you go over them with the hair drier they are hardly noticable.

RE: Using compressed wood bricks/fuel for campfires?

While we use them in A wood stove and they work great! I can say all they do is smolder and not really burn in a open fire. we have tried them twice while camping. They just turn into A black chunk.

RE: Does anyone use EZ Pass?

Here in NJ with A Dually they said I had to have A commercial acct also. 10.00 A month ervice fee. Called Delaware EZ Pass told them my situation and type of vehicles. They issued A Delaware ez pass and yes the maintenance fee is like for any other 1.00 A month. Works great towing the 5er or not. And its 5.00 less to cross the Delaware Memorial bridge when towing then stopping and paying cash.

RE: Mounting flag holder on pin box

Well that is the usual answer to any question posed to lippert. It will void the warranty. Shoot pretty soon they will probably say well you towed it off the dealers lot, you voided the warranty.

RE: Power Converter Success

You most likly solved your problem with the new converter. As the previous poster said and A thread search we show, WFCO converters are just problems waiting to happen. The first thing I did when we took delivery of our new 5er was to pull the WFCO and install the Pd converter. That by the way has been in now the 3rd unit we have owned. The wfco is on the shelve in the garage , and the next time it will see use is if we trade to another camper, and yes I will pull out the PD and reinstall the BRAND NEW Wfco. The manufactures install junk so if I trade I reinstall the junk. Hey at least whoever buys my old campers get A Brand New converter with them!

RE: Just a thought...

That was what I was saying in the end run. I think some of these companies are jumping on the Schwintec wagon because its new. As we all know there is very little thought put into an RV other than the bottom Line. Unfortunatly what you are saying about your slide is what I was refering to as to large for this system. In your case I say hammer your dealer and the factory till somehow it is rectified. Dont be afraid to contact the factory directly if need be.

RE: Just a thought...

Wow Lots of posts on the Schintec system on here! Please dont take this wrong. My 5er has the schwintec system on 2 sofa slides in the living room. Those slides have probably been extended and retracted 150 times since May when we bought this unit. I have had no problems. But when we made Our first trip with it I noticed that it seemed like there was excessive drag on the slides. So I looked them over and noticed that both of the couches wre dragging on the carpet when moving. Now I am not one to drag my camper back to the Dealer for anything that goes wrong, If I can fix it I do. So I looked things over and wound up putting A piece of 3/4" pine under each side of each couch. No more dragging and the slides both moved freely and quicker. I finished the fix by actually changing the force on each controller and no problems. Total time to think about and correct the situation about 45 minutes. Now with that said I do think there are A few things at work here. The Manufacturers dont care about QC its all about production so they dont even consider something like A dragging piece of furniture. Alos I dont think these systems were designed to move some of the large slides that they are put on. That could be A problem that cant be fixed correctly. Plus they are fairly new and probably the biggest mistake in trying to get them right is to take them back to the dealer because most dealers still dont know how to correctly adjust regular slide so they just take A shot and hope they fix it. A friend had his at A dealer and they fixed it by adjusting more force into the controller an it actually bowed the wall when out due to to much force, Boy was that A good fix! So take A look if you are having A problem it might be pretty simpleand an easy fix. And if the slide awnings had that much resistance to A moving slide you would never be able to keep the slide rail on the camper they are just held on by putty tape and A half dozen 3/4" long screws. Sorry for the rant but maybe this will help some. It helped the (techs) at A local dealer!

RE: info please

Sounds like Thousand Trails Zone pass to me. You just need to make sure which zone you will use and look at where the CGs are that you might use. If its TT you get 14 days in a row then out, you get 30 days with the zone pass, then you pay like 3 dollars a day after that. Plus you pay extra for 50 amp service. Plus you have to hope the CGs in the zone you pick are not all sesonal or rented sites. very decieving unless you can actually check out A couple of CGs in the zone before hand.. I know the Eatern zone which we had has A few nice places but for instance Lake and Shore here in NJ 30 min drive for me. Is A place that is only good in early spring and late fall as it is mostly rental units and the product from the city inhabit it once the weather gets nice. Not relaxing when if you leave the site for 10 minutes you have to put everything away and lock everything down or it will be gone. Caution is advised

RE: HURRICANE NORTHEAST

Well its no longer A Hurricane! It came ashore 25 miles east of us and has past. Probably 4" of rain max, Maybe 50MPH gusts. At this time 7:25pm it is gone and just some light winds remain. It is now just A storm that will blow thru PA and be done. Electric never even blinked. So now we put away the Generators Put the fiver back on its pad out back and wait for the next trip. Hope others faired as well as we did.

RE: Sandy . . . . How far inland do we Need to Get

Not knowing just where you are in Elkton, It can get pretty nasty around there at times. Fished many Bass tournies out of Elk Neck and Harve De Grace. Lots of water around with the Susquhanna flats and rivers. If you are going to move then try to start by tomorow. If you are going you want to get across what we call the flat bridge over the Susquhanna before it starts blowing up A lot. Its short but the wids really howl acrros it.Dont go North we are not going to have A good time evidently. Everytime they show the track its heading right down our throats here in So Jersey. Dont know how far you want to go but not A lot of choices from where you are. Va is still a target also. NC would get you clear probably and you have RV Cation CG on 95 right around exit 98 in NC probably about 5 -6 hour pull but you will be clear. If you deide to stay just batten down tight fill wter tank in case where you are losses water and stay safe.

RE: Winterizing and dump valves

10 gallons in the water heater, you can buy A water heater bypass kit. drain the tank turn bypas valves and blow out lines. then ad A couple gallons of antifreeze and you are good to go. Bypass kits are available everwhere online and at a local dealer takes about 15 mins to install.
