RE: Denver camping??

Cherry Creek State Park is nice too, but probably a 30 min commute to Thorton, but all freeway.

RE: External DVD for USB and TV usage?

I doubt it. TVs are not computers and to the best of my knowledge, don't have USB ports that would support an external drive.

RE: solar panel for class A coach

Here's my setup. 520 watts. Works great, but I need more battery storage.

RE: 2nd Monitor?

I'm using two 21.5" external wide screen displays with my Dell Latitude laptop. 40" of display is very very cool.

RE: Verizon Air Card

What's a "cradlepoint router"?
It turns your cellular modem into a WiFi hot spot wherever you go. Very cool and convenient.

RE: TPMS and cold weather?

My experience is that a 10°F temp rise results in about a 1 PSI tire pressure rise. The change is so dramatic here in the desert in the summer (70° at night to may 140° tire temp in the sun) that I don't bother checking tire pressures unless it is 4 hours or more since sunset. Just before sunrise works quite nicely.

RE: Waxing Top Of MH

This reminds me of an old Gomer Pyle show where Gomer waxes the bottom of the Sargent's car. The Sargent drives into something and the car slides right up on top of whatever it hit.

RE: TRVN malware removal

A bit of an introduction to this thread would have help a lot of people understand what this is about.
For those that have not figured it out, the Tiffin owner's forum was hit with a nasty virus over the weekend and is still out of service.

RE: Satellite vs. Cable

If you are on an RV forum (Duhhh), Satellite wins hands down. Cable does't work very well in an RV becasue you need a really long wire to make it work when you travel. I've been with DirecTV for 14 years and have always been thrilled with it.

RE: For I Phone Users

I have both a Verizon phone and an iPhone on AT&T. Verizon coverage wins hands down here in the west. My biggest complaint with AT&T is that the signal can't penetrate buildings. I can be in front of a store in the parking lot and have 4 bars. Go inside the store and I totally loose converage. I don't know if that's an AT&T thing or a GSM thing but it sucks.

RE: how to pick up a MH ??

I would try to avoid picking up a motorhome. I think I'd hurt my back beyond repair if I tried.
Good luck.

RE: Getting rid of the onboard generator

Perform a good final service on the generator and whatever would be required for extended storage. Remove it and stash it somewhere, and if you ever sell the MH, you could reinstall it. It sure would make a nice plage to install a bunch of betteries. Enjoy.

RE: What areas are the most desolate ?

Being 22 miles from a road in the Sonoran Desert is pretty desolate IMHO, especially in the summer when it's 110° in the shade.

RE: Camping in and around Patagonia Arizona?

I'm surprised to hear that the park would fill up this time of year. We were there the weekend before that and there were plenty of spaces. The hookup spots go fast, but there are a lot of non-hookup spots available most of the time. Try again some other time this winter. Nov and Dec are great there.

RE: Winter Vacation in Southern Arizona?

Cactus Country RV Park off of I-10, Exit 275 is NOT a 55+ park and that is where we spend the winter. Small park of about 250 sites with full hookups and friendly staff. You don't have to wear name tags there since everyone knows each other. PM me if you want more info.
I can also recommend Cactus Country. There are a lot of attractions that can be visited in a day, or if you don't mind breaking up your locations, move the RV around a bit and stay at some of the different sites.
Some of the attractions include: Tucson Desert Museum, Kartchner Caverns State Park (great CG too), Bisbee, Tombstone (Tombstone Territories RV Park), Mt Lemon, Pima Air Museum, Titan II Missile Museum, the boneyard (AMARG)at Davis Monthan AF Base (all three of these can be combined into one admission), Saguaro National Park. There is also a lot of great winter hiking around the area. If you are into cycling, it's also great for that.
Enjoy.
