RE: 2013 Wisconsin Spring RV Net Rally, May 10th-12th

Who now leads with most rallies attended? I know it can't be us. Who is it :@ Let's see... We started in Spring 2005 and went until Fall 2012. That's 8 years @ 2 a year is 16, less 3 spring rallies is 13, plus 3 door county gatherings is 16. Priceless... :)

RE: Are new Sunset Trails by Crossroads

Our friends ordered a 2013 model and when it came in it was a 2014 model. Nice surprise! The only drawback I saw was that the awning did not cover the outside cook center. I keep teasing them that they're going to get wet standing outside cooking on those rainy days... :)

RE: Cabinet Door Struts

I'm confused...Are you talking about struts like these? Or does cabinet making call a strut a certain type of cut or ??? http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/plastic-spring-loaded-cabinet-door-support/49542 if so camping world has them. The type I have are made by "jr products" Yes, that is what I'm talking about. I picked up a pair from my RV dealer. They are 6 1/4" extended and 5 3/4" compressed. My cabinet opening is 6" so I thought these would work, but they are too long and don't compress enough to get the cabinet door shut. I need something like these but in a smaller version and am having a difficult time finding any. Dave.

Cabinet Door Struts

Anyone know where I can find some small overhead cabinet door struts? The opening is 6" and 6 1/4" struts are too long. They can either be gas or spring loaded. Thanks. Dave.

Right! We drank Jeremiah Weed right out of the bottle and not in those fancy, plastic cups... :p

RE: 2013 Wisconsin Spring RV Net Rally, May 10th-12th

You're all gettin' soft! I remember when we used to camp. We were in a tent. With no floor. Had to walk to the pit toilets in the pitch black of the night. And back. Uphill. Both ways. In snow 3' deep too! :B

RE: Double Bunk vs Single Bunk Opinions

Won't be long and your kids will want to bring some friends along, so make sure that the bunks you get can accomodate 2 extra kids and their gear for the weekend... Our biggest issue is the kids outgrowing the height of their bunks and not being able to sit up in them, so consider that too. There are a lot of nice options out there, just comes down to how long of a trailer you want to tow... Dave.

RE: Trailer/Hitch Ball Size for KZ Frontier

With our 2005 KZ Frontier 2405 we used the Equal-i-zer brand 10,000/1,000 WD hitch and it worked very well. Also used the Prodigy brake controller, but any name brand contoller will do.

RE: New tires for '11 F-150 ecoboost

We get some nasty winters here too, like right now. The tire guy told me I would like the MS/2s better in the snow, especially the hard-packed kind. So far this winter I have no regrets with the decision. They even worked great on the lake this winter for ice fishing. Dave.

RE: New tires for '11 F-150 ecoboost

Michelin LTX M/S 2's, nice ride and 70,000 mile tread warranty. Exactly what I put on my 2012 F150. Rims are rated to 50 PSI, so I run them at 40 PSI empty and 50 PSI when towing. Much more stable than the P rated tires that came on the truck....

RE: 2012 F150 Brake Noise

I now have nearly 8000 miles and the condition is unchanged. I just turned 11,000 miles on mine...

RE: 2012 F150 Brake Noise

VERY EMBARRASSING!! To say the least!!! My kid's friends can hear it 3 houses away when they are waiting for the bus in the morning! They nicknamed my truck "Squeek"... :o

2012 F150 Brake Noise

Anyone else with a 2012 F150 getting a constant squeek from one of the front brakes? I get it all the time on the front left brake, especially when backing up. And it does it all the time, regardless of weather conditions. I had it in twice and the dealer ground it down some, but insists it's from rust build up from the dampness. Then they told me it could be from the lighter brake material Ford is using to keep the weight down. Hunh??? Thanks. Dave.

RE: Towing with a 6.0L 2500HD

My 2008 GMC Sierra 2500HD 6.0 w/ 4.10 Extended Cab pulled our trailer great. Got 13-15 MPG HWY and 8.5 MPG towing. My BIL has the same truck (regular cab, long bed) and pulls a 32' 5'er and has no problems with it. Great trucks and I miss it every once in a while... :(

RE: I'm about to go Eco-Boost

There is a 4WD CC XLT with Max Tow at a local dealer. Edmunds TMV estimate is about $36K for the Eco and $19K for my trade, difference $17K. Deal is for $15,900. Comments? 2013? I know where you can get the same truck in a 2012 w/ 11K miles on it for just over $32,000. Dave,

RE: Buying an F150 - Eco-Boost or not?

I'll give you a good deal on a 2012 EcoBoost (see my sig). Towing our trailer (see my sig) I get 7.5 MPG. Average daily driving I get maybe 15 MPG. I had better numbers towing with my 2008 Sierra 2500HD Ext Cab 6.0 4.10 and about the same average daily driving. Although it pulls great and rides nice and the kids love the spacious rear seat, I'm not impressed with the overall MPG... Currently looking at a 2007.5 Silverado 2500HD Crew Cab 6.0. Dave.
