Yes, the alarm goes off and the warning light comes on. I lubed it with WD40, Didn't seem to make a difference. As long as I force it up the last inch it doesn't come back down.

I've been on four trips now and we really enjoy the layout. I have also had problems with opening the couch, the latch ls very hard to open. Another problem I have encountered is the right rear leveler has come down about 1/2 inch twice while traveling. Now I carry a 2X4 with me and really make sure it is seated before we move. Can be quite unsetteling when you are in traffic.
