Is there anyway to live in an RV during Winter up north

Is there anyway to use the RV all winter even up north or is it just not a possibility? Could somebody use it full time or is there no way to keep everything from freezing?

RE: Small Class A's

I have a 2003 Rexhall 30'. Creative L shaped couch gives extra room- small table, etc and some other neat things to make good use of the space.

RE: Water use from tank not hose supply

Water pump was ON! Let's see how that works. Just glad it wasn't the conversion rate of water flow from being up here in Canada. ;)

Water use from tank not hose supply

I am at a campsite and the water is being used from the holding tank- not from the hose hookup. Why? What can I do to correct this? I installed a regulator am wondering if this is why. Seemed to work fine when I had it in my driveway at home but now that I am at a campsite (and at my in-laws driveway) it takes water from the tank not the hose hookups. Any ideas

Man it gets HOT in the Drivers seat

Obviously I am sitting on top of an engine but man-O-Man does it get hot up there while driving. I felt like my sandals were melting at one point and some of the wires for things like my cell phones felt like they were melting too. I am having some issues with my generator and AC not working properly while driving so that of course didn't help either.
Do the rest of you notice that it gets VERY hot from engine heat in the front seats? I am going to put some radiant barrier down under a floor mat to see if that helps but not really expecting a miracle from that.

RE: What did you do to your Class A MH today???

Took our first trip in the class a today! Great fun, although it stormed for awhile. No water leaks that we can see.
Took ours too- we probably passed each other as I drove through Illinois on my way to Canada! Drove through a nice storm in Gretzky's hometown.

XM radio

What is the easiest way to install satellite radio on an RV? I bought a radio but I have to install the antenna (which is magnetic- duh and needs to be facing up) Other easier methods?

RE: Oil change

Just got my oil changed at my local Ford dealership- cost was $45 for the Works. Just had to drive in the back door- there was about 1 foot on either side of me and the desks but it fit and they got it done no problem. The guys doing it say it is actually easier to do than a normal car. Thought it was funny when they pulled out the nearly 6 foot long dipstick for the tranny (wow a tranny with a 6 foot dipstick- YIKES!).

RE: Do you use a CB or has that gone the way of the Dino

Some of you mention having a handheld- do you get reception worth anything? I was thinking of just getting a handheld but not sure I would hear more than a mile up the road- also seems like it would be a tad hard to use while driving- thoughts on handhelds?
