RE: Roseville, ca to Bishop, Ca

Unless you really want to go down 395 and stay at Bishop/Mammoth, I don't understand why you would want to go that route....way outta your way! 99 to 58 to 395 to I-15 to 215 to I-15 again. Or once on I-15, just stay on it. However, if you do want to go all the way down 395, Mammoth RV park is $50 for a dirt site plus another $5 for every pet. In Bishop, there are two fairly decent rv parks, Brown Town (again, dirt sites) or Highlands rv park (very nice...sorta). good luck Ron

RE: Toilet clogging up

Sorry for lack of info. It does not drop straight down into the tank. The drain line has a elbow making a 45 degree turn then runs about a foot and half before dropping into the tank. I am getting a burping like gulp when flushing. Do you put more water in the bowl before using it? Typically, the system will only put a few ounces so you have to add a lot more water. I always put at least a gallon (about 1/2 full bowl) prior to sitting down. The more water, the better. Try this and see if it helps Ron

RE: Extended service plan

We had GS ESP with our coach as soon as the factory warranty ran out. They did take good care of us. Now that our coach is a little older, we feel assured that we've gotten all the bugs out and really don't need the ESP any longer. Please note that when we looked into renewing it, they wanted more than three times the initial costs. Ron

RE: Monaco Diplomate2013 VS Newmar Duchstar 2011 3734 with 1900M

Thanks for u r feed back. But about the construction and the paint difference on both? Also Newmar has 400 ISL,do i need to put urea when filling the fuel? I would say that they are pretty much equal in construction and paint. The ISL is a great engine with lots of torque...should be just fine for that 37 footer. And, yes you will need to put DEF in it. However, keep in mind that being a 2011 with only 1900 miles means it's been sitting a lot. That can have negative aspects to it. Also with that little amount of miles on it, makes you wonder why the original owners sold it. Posted By: Bgill663 on 05/22/13 10:36am also the price diffence would be around $55000.is it worth buying Monaco DP? Well, only you can really determine that. Two years newer and at least feet more may be worth the 55 grand. No disrespect, but keep in mind that both of these coaches are light years ahead of your Sunseeker. Don't forget when buying new, you will have a huge depreciation cost as soon as you sign the papers...whereas with the used mh, the depreciation has already been paid for. We bought new and even with a 30% down payment, after five years we are still upside down on what we owe vs what it is now worth. Hope this helps Ron

RE: Charging Problems

You didn't provide us with any feedback from your previous post on electrical problems. Did those problems get fixed or is this current problem part of the previous ones. You really need to provide us with any corrections you may have done to help with this problem.....maybe they are related...or the same! If you don't respond back, it like us talking to a brick wall. Come on, talk to us. Ron

RE: RV Parks w/older RV restrictions

You know it always amazes me whenever this subject comes up, the number of people who get their panties in a bunch and feel all insulted. The fact of the matter is, there are hundreds of rv parks/campgrounds/resorts everywhere you go. If some have restrictions, that's their right to do so and just move on to the next one. No big deal and no need to get insulted and make negative remarks. Ron

RE: Monaco Diplomate2013 VS Newmar Duchstar 2011 3734 with 1900M

I would not base any decision on what ANY dealer said....ever! For you info, Navistar has recently sold Monaco (and its siblings) to another company....actually, the one that currently owns Fleetwood. I drove a 2011 Newmar Ventana 43 footer with the Comfort drive (it also had the tag axle) and was very much impressed with the ease of driveability and its smooth/quiet ride. The Dutch Star is the next step higher in the Newmar hierarchy and should be a very good mh. My current MH is a Monaco product and even tho it is an entry level dp, it has been a very good mh with no major problems and only a couple of minor ones. As for Navistar Monaco products, I've heard only good things about them. I haven't had the opportunity to drive a 10-bag tag axle Monaco, but I bet it would be just as nice as the Ventana I drove. If you have the $$, I would definitely go with the newer unit. Ron

RE: What is the right way?

I think the OP needs to clarify his question. Is he talking about the MH or the toad?????? As written, his question doesn't make sense. Ron

RE: Dinghy Towing

Just yesterday you posted online that you didn't know what to do about this problem. Now you have a product you have been using for weekend trips that you are recommending. Just saying, it sounds like a spammer that does not know how to post a link ;) :) I think you are mistaking him for another poster as this person only joined the forum this morning and his only other post refers to "side marker lights" and didn't mention a "problem" at all. FAMILY PEOPLE, you should provide the same info you provided in your first post so that people will know what you are talking about. Ron

RE: House battery question

Nobody has mentioned it, but you originally stated: "SRM29 Interstate Deep Cycle battery, 675 cold cranking amps". This tells me that your battery is not the type of battery you should be using for your rv. Any battery measured in CCA (cold cranking amps) is designed for "starting" as they supply a high number of amps for a short period of time. Discharging them will significantly reduce its effectiveness to hold a charge. You really need to look for a deep cycle battery that is measured in Ah (Amp hours). Those are designed to have repeated discharge/recharge without significant damage to the cells and its ability to hold a charge. As others have mentioned, your rv has parasitic loads that will discharged the battery even if nothing is turned on. You need to disconnect the battery and it then should hold a charge for a longer period. Also, your converter may not have the three stage ability to "float" charge your battery once it is fully charged. Continuous charging can damage the battery as much if not more than discharging it. Hope this helps Ron

RE: Cleaning Fiberglass Roof

I just did mine this weekend. Although I try to clean my fiberglass roof twice a year, I often forget. I use the same carwash soap that I use on the other exterior. Seems to work for me & no harsh chemicals. 9 years old & still in good shape. I do the same. When you say your roof looks pretty bad, can you tell us exactly what your roof looks like? Need more info. Ron

RE: Use of Cinder Blocks

I'm sure that's fine, as long as you have them sitting up (as aruba5er stated). If they can support an entire building, I'm sure they can support your 5'r. Ahhhh... they support an entire building because they are filled with concrete are a essentially "solid" concrete...not hollow blocks. Putting four down with the holes pointed up and having a 4x4 stretched across them, should be more than adequate to handle the weight of your 5er. But as others said, that's a lot of extra weight to haul around. I think I would go with the plastic blocks myself. Ron

RE: aux batt cut of

Ok, the switch you are referring to is commonly called "salesman" switch. You will probably have another switch located in your battery compartment that will also turn off the house batteries. Check it first and make sure that it is "on". If still no power, check the voltages on your batteries....if fully charge, they will read about 12.6 to 12.8 volts. If discharged they will read only about 12.2 or less. Let us know what voltages you find. Ron

RE: Leveling

Now, I suppose there could be some sort of valve on the outside for some purpose of draining air etc. But, for leveling? Boy, that's a first for me. Scott I think the OP said that draining the air this way would make it "easier" to level....not that it was actually a part of leveling. Removing the air does make it easier....but it's not absolutely necessary. And yes, I do believe that all air suspension coaches have a valve (sometimes two) that will release the air from the suspension system. Ron

RE: Leveling

This is std practice. Most coaches have a switch on the dash (or driver's controls) that will do the same thing. just make sure you apply your parking brake first. Ron

RE: Using air brake air nipple to fill bike tires

I installed a reel and 50' of air hose in my front compartment and use the compressed air for all sorts of things including the tires of the mh. What you use, the compressor on the engine will replace very quickly. Ron

Are you sure you have an inverter? I think you may only have a converter. Ron
