RE: True invoice

I asked Dave Smith for a price of a 3500 chev in 2001. $400.00 was all they could save me. didn't think it was worth that small price to go after it but some had told me they saved $5000.00 using Dave Smith.

RE: Rotating tires on a dually

I used all tires when I rotated our 2001 dually. One tire at a time because of using the spare. I never did the job again because the tires didn't show a problem. Now with the Michelin tires we bought in 2011 I have had the dealer rotate and will again soon. I don't like old tires and one reason for not wanting to rotate . Free is why for this set of tires.

Our antenna has not been up since 2005 but it would be easy to leave it up.

RE: The continuing Saga waiting for my new Ram 3500

NC Hauler I hope you can live with it so you don't have to go though the" do I buy another new truck again" for the 2014 year coming soon. New rumor is the 2014 will have a V-8 engine and 1000 ft lbs of torque with 2 big cranks holding it down to the ground on take off. Of course this is just a rumor. Enjoy the newest truck.

RE: Need some maintenance advice

We had a 32 ft alfa fifthwheel and this story came in for changing a tire. I made up a similar product as the trailer aid. In my driveway I tested it and all it did was JAM the tire up into the wheel well and nothing for the tire I would be changing. It did not look like a good thing so I never bought the trailer aid. So when a fella tells me they work I wonder if they really used theirs. Please come back if you have. I like to know everything. It could be that my experience's doesn't always match others

RE: alpine coaches

we have the accordion door on our 2001 35 ft alpenlite. the snap that keeps it tight against the wall has never been unsnapped. happy we have that style so we don't have to open and close an un necessary door for our needs. cheap as you called it can be less repairs in the future.

RE: The continuing Saga waiting for my new Ram 3500

Well I did and both the salesman and myself have sent picks to Ram. There is a fix coming, what I don't know but they(Ram/Chrysler) are aware that there is an issue and are working on it.
Don
I believe the fix would be called a fuel tank cap. ya might want to pass this on to them.
chevman
Larry go back and reread my posts about this and note the post that states "I have passed the pic on to management at Ram via the head of QC at my plant" so yea it's been passed on. My guess is someone dropped the ball and somehow the fuel door latch was over looked.
I say that because ALL of our vehicles that are cap-less also have a latch to hold the door closed tight. This is further backed up by the fact that the Ram fuel door has the seal on it just no latch. Not like GM or Ford or any other manufacture has not missed something on a new vehicle launch right?
Don
I did read it Don. Just making a silly comment. Nice truck for sure.

RE: 3/4 ton Duramax capacity

I towed my 14,000 GVWR 5er with my prior 2500 Duramax (with airbags and 265 tires) with no problems. Was I over weight? Most likely. I now have a dually and can tell no difference in how it tows.
And please inform us of any accidents or broken axles or any other problems caused by being over weight. Anyone? Anyone?
You must be kidding. That is not possible.

RE: Komfort 2620 tows very high in front with stock GMC 2500

If the rear of your truck is high you could use longer shackles on the rear of the spring to get a couple of inches. I did this one time. If your new truck is level it sucks. I would have your problem if we bought a new truck.

RE: Goodyear Tires

I have 6 G614 on my TH, all at 110psi. Last time I scales it the trailer axles totaled 12k, with close to 22k of tires & rims. For what it is worth, slam the electric brake controller at low speed, and you will eat dashboard in my truck. I have NO problem with traction at max tire pressure. As far as rough ride on the trailer, the axles likely have a rough ride, but the centerpoint suspension on the trailer absorbs almost all the bumps before they hit the frame. Between the centerpoint, and trailair triglide, the truck feels RR tracks, but you can't feel the 3 trailer axles cross them.
same for me 110 lbs and never had any wear problems but new tires every 5 years might make the difference.

RE: The continuing Saga waiting for my new Ram 3500

My friend ordered and received one of the first ford 6.7 F-350. He needed to go to Nebraska so not knowing much about the DEF he went back to the ford dealership. It was not full when he received the truck and wanted to not have a problem on the trip. 2 guys filled it for 1/2 hour each on the labor. I still laugh about that sometimes.
