RE: When boondocking, which is more cost effective?

Thank you all for such quick responses. We are now on propane. We had been set to a/c and running off the inverter with the autostart on the generator kicking in to top off the batteries.

When boondocking, which is more cost effective?

We have a diesel generator. Should we use the generator or propane to run the refrigerator? Which would be more efficient? Thanks

RE: What would you buy?

When my Kindle died I replaced it with a Nexus 7 tablet. Same size as the Kindle but with so many more features. I'm writing this on my tablet. It's an android operating system. All my Kindle books (387 of them) transferred without a problem. I like the lighting on the screen as I don't need an additional clip on light or heavy cover with built-in light. Reads well in daylight and battery power is very good for me. If I use it all day to read or email then I just charge it while I sleep. All that being said, I thought the Kindle Whitepaper sounded very nice for just a reader. Oh, by the way, this Nexus costs the same as the Kindle.

RE: What is your nick name (slogan) on your Rv

After trading RV's three times in two years I said "This is it!" Now we call her IT. (We finally got the diesel he wanted)

RE: Montreal and Quebec City

Thank you all for such quick and informative answers. I always have a camera with me :). I'll have to do more research on returning to Montreal after our time in Quebec City. Google and I have a good long term relationship but must have been holding out on me because I have not seen that 3 day cruise. I'm very excited about this trip and even though it's so many months away I may need even more time; I'm trying to learn some conversational French and I keep mixing up with the required Spanish I know from living in Florida.

Montreal and Quebec City

Merry Christmas all, For my sister's 70th birthday we are flying to Montreal and also spending time in Quebec City. Right now the plan is to stay at a B&B in Montreal for about 4 days then take the train to Quebec City and stay there for another 7 days or so. Now to the questions... What are some of the 'must do' places and some side trips we should make while based in QC. Should we spend more time in Montreal? Neither of us really care about big city shopping, we like architecture and museums of history and or art. I do know that we want to go to the botanical gardens in Montreal. This trip is planned for mid September so we are obviously flexible on some of the reservations we've made. Oh and we hope to take the ferry back from Quebec City to Montreal for our flights home. She's in Colorado and I'm in Florida. This is the longest post I've ever made and it isn't anything to do with my RV, oh well, I'm sure you'll have great suggestions for us. Thanks in advance. Oh, I hate that I don't know this but, will I need a different electrical connector in Canada? Thanks again!

RE: Bugs

I think the white stuff you see being put outside around the tires, etc. is Borax (20 Mule Team Borax) When you're in the store you can read the box to see if it is toxic. Oh, and I read once that ants won't cross a chalk line. Perhaps some sidewalk chalk might work and be fun for the kids too.
