RE: The old NEW vs USED debate

I totally agree with Effy! The used one has been driven a lot for having that many miles on it. I would try to negotiate the new one down a bit more and go that route for a $10 grand difference. If the used one had 10K on it I think the used one may be fine but it's not.....

RE: Advice on buying older diesel

I think it looks like a good deal for what has been done already. Be sure to check the roof real good for any weak spots or any spots that may have had leaks. I have a 2001 Beaver coach and it has been good to us. We bought it 5 years ago.....Iv'e put about $10000 into it in that time, tires, genset rebuild a few weeks ago, all the roof covers replaced, thermostats, wheel seals....

RE: CG near to watch Blue Jays camp

Sherwood Forest is also in the area of Dunedin and a bit north of Dunedin RV Resort. It is also a nice place to stay. Google Sherwood Forest RV Park and it will show up.

RE: Electric steps continually trying to retract

I had an issue similar on our Coach. I took the motor off and matched it up on Amazon.com and ordered a new motor assembly. I read where the hard plastic bushings inside the motor break down and grind up. I was curious and opened the old motor up and one of the plastic bushings was fine pieces of plastic, the other two were like new.

RE: I40W in NC~ I75N in TN Mountains terrain? expectations?

Yes, you will be fine as long as you watch the signs and speed limits. Be careful on the turns and speed and downhill runs.

RE: Tiffin red 33aa vs thor aria 3601

I would go with the Tiffin over the Thor all the time. Tiffin has better customer support from what I have been told by several owners. Personally I have had neither of these but always hear opinions of both and Tiffin wins!

RE: GOT the odor of gas smell.

All the above comments mention the regulator. Thats where I had a small leak when I noticed the smell.

RE: rv antenna

Sensor iv antenna and a sensar pro amplfied box. I ran new cable from the antenna all the way to the sensar pro. The old coax was compromised where it went through the roof. What a major difference in amount of channels now.

RE: How expensive to replace the slide out awning fabric?

I would think any marine canvas shop could make you up new covers if you take the old one in. timjet, I would take it off and have a canvas shop stitch it over the tear.

RE: Anyone else not full timing because of the grand kids?

We love our grandkids terribly. But even though three of them are only fifty miles away we rarely get to see them. Soccer, dance, school, parents work, always too busy for us....so next year we are going to hit the road......cell phone and postcards will be the norm.

RE: buying an rv

We bought ours by private party 5 years ago. At least you don't have the "dealer fee's" added. But I guess if you finance you may want a dealer to find a good rate if you haven't done that yourself previously. I am not fond of dealers for the most part. Especially the ones that think they know what I want when they are way off from the beginning!

RE: 2 full baths now?

I can only wish my budget included a new DP. 1 1/2 bath is a waste as their are only two of us. two baths is crazy ridiculous unless you have a lot of company, or wild parties!

RE: Wineguard SensarPro

I recently installed a sensar pro after I was having issues with getting very few channels to come in. I found a bad spot in the coax on the roof coming thru the roof. Once I replaced the whole coax from the antenna to the sensarpro and got everything hooked up I am amazed at the channels I get now! Hope you can get it figured out.
