Snake in a basement of DP!

I know this may be the first time ever asked! I was doing some minor maintenance on my DP two days ago, and lo and behold opened the water valve and grey and black tank hookup door. When I did I saw a small 1 1/2 ft snake slither from under the ledge by the bin. of course by the time I grabbed a pole nearby it decided to go into the basement bin and disappear. This is a large open area under the coach not a small closed bin. My ladder and hoses as well as sewer hoses and connectors. Opens all the way to passenger side where the basement tv and some other stuff stored ie: fishing rods, tackle box etc.... We took almost everything out and didn't find it, put most back in....hoping maybe it slithered away. Went out today to flush the fresh water tank out and at first didn't see any sign of a snake...but after about a 1/2 hour I was closing the freshwater drain valve and I saw something out of the corner of my eye.... .the snake in the corner of the bin looking right at me...believe me, I was close enough to tell. I again grabbed the handle I had there and slowly put the end under it, so far so good, got it halfway out and he or she pushed off the handle and back he went, right into the bin again. Now the bin is cleaned out...one side open for the night...hope it leaves on its own.....or see it in the am by the edge again.... pretty sure its a rat snake...looked it up online and that what it looks like.....non venomous but guess could still bite me....I hate any snake....even one this small.... Any ideas out there...????

RE: Dash a/c not cool enough...

I had my dash A/C repaired 2 years ago due to a leaking line. Air was a lot cooler after the repair. 6 months later not as cold. I decided it was wasting my money, so now I use the dash air early in the am, then run the generator and roof a/c's late morning and afternoon.

RE: Ft. Desoto

also right near there they have a small hydro plane type boat ride where two people to a boat control a 1 hour trip around the area there and is navigated by a lead boat that narrates by speakers in each boat about what you are seeing as you cruise along. Great fun lille ride. Think it is about $64 a boat for fee's.

RE: Could Low Oil in my Generator Cause This?

These generators are quite finicky when it comes to oil....Mine shuts down when it gets just a bit low....that's for safety so you don't blow the engine up. I am retired AF also 1979-1992 B52 Crewchief 1979-1982 then F -15 Crew chief/phase dock Chief Eglin AFB 1982-1989/ 1989-1992 Kadena AB Okinawa Hardbroke Chief.

RE: Good Sam Roadside assistance cancellation notice

these companies like to make money, not spend it. They want profit, profit, profit. If you cause there margin to fall, you will disappear somehow. Insurance Companies do it every day, raise rates to get you to go elsewhere. Then 2 months later send you tons of letters begging for you to come back! Same as direct TV and Dish. I had Direct Tv in the house, they didn't have internet capability so when Brighthouse came in my area I went with them after 10 years....Direct TV still sends me mail begging for my return, which is not gonna happen ever!

RE: Buying DEF in diesel lanes at Pilot/Flying J

geez, why does everything on here get so complicated...read what the pump says, then stick the right hose in the right tank, fill it up...then pay...the end!

RE: DP Search

Welooked at an older Monaco Coach that was beautiful outside, but once we stepped inside it stunk so bad of smokers we couldn't go inside. The sales guy said, yes they smoked but the coach is priced so low that would cover getting the smoke smell removed. I told him the only way that that smell would go away would be for someone to burn the coach up....we left quickly!

RE: Response from the Marcus Rapid Response Team

I surely don't discriminate against anyone! If I get good service, I will acknowledge it, and if I get bad service I will respond appropriately to that... that goes for Good Sam, Camping World or any other RV type service out there. Some things that you pay for aren't worth what's written on the paperwork, but that's another page!

RE: An idea for a DP storage pad.

Looks good. I finally had air system installed so I can arrange the coach to tilt or lean any way or bring the back up now. It has made a big difference in underside maintenance! Yours looks like a great way to work.

RE: Best RV Wax

Shurhold polish at West marine is what I use. I bought a gallon of it on Amazon.com for about $100 dollars. It goes a long way though. I just did my 40' DP by hand. Wipes on Clearcoat easily, and with no fillers it doesn't chalk like some of of cheap waxes. It is a polymer and brings out the shine like I have never seen before. I'm doing my Cadillac and pickup this week with it too, it is amazing.

RE: discovery water pump

I agree with Trackrig! Call Fleetwood and maybe they have some tips for getting to it for replacement. It seems odd it would be so difficult to replace as they do fail. But it's an RV and some things are installed and built around unfortunately!

RE: RV held hostage by CW - Little Rock

I guess the GS rapid response team isn't in on this problem.....or not sure what to say or do. Time for the Marcus dream team to handle it......

RE: Good Sam ESP through CW or direct with GS?

I have had a warranty with GS for the past three years, but just recently canceled due to paying out a lot more than they have paid for any repairs. $2000 a year for 3 years = $6000...3 claims paid for under $1800. $4200 in their pocket! Now I put $175 a month in a repair savings acct. just for the rv!

RE: Thoughts on a 2007 Coachmen Sportscoach Elete 40QSL

I looked at the Sportcoach models. I thought that they were not insulated the greatest in the ceiling. I was told that proper ceiling is measured by placing your hand vertical in a fan opening, if your whole hand sets in the opening you have a thick ceiling that is better than others. Seemed like the factory used cheap stuff for furniture too...
