RE: Extended Service Plan for older Class A

take to money and put it in a maintenance account. Thats how I do it. Then when the need arises I pull money from there for repairs. I also carry one low interest credit card with no balance and credit amount of $10K for any huge issues.

RE: Quikee Step problem

gears inside the motor have hard plastic vibration disintegrate. Probably need a new motor. Match it up on Amazon to get a cheaper price.

RE: Hi

We bought an older Beaver 6 years ago. I replaced ton's of things to have everything updated. Still a great coach and no payments. We are selling our place and going full time in June of this year! Good luck in your endeavors.

Exterior Window and trim cleaning

I have been wondering how to get all the exterior windows cleaner and trim looking better. I found out from a well known detailer in the area: Use 0000 steel wool to remove water spots, bugs, and spots of paint or debris sticking to the window. It will not scratch the window. I also cleaned the black frames with the same steel wool. I then used a Meguire's product called 'back to black' and a small sponge to apply a couple of coats to the trim. I then used Rain X window cleaner and rain protector and a couple of micro towels to clean them all. The trims look like new and the windows are the cleanest they have been in 6 years....

RE: Kwikee Electric Steps Fail to Fully Retract Question

If you have lubricated the moving joints of the steps and it didn't help, its probably the gears on the motor assembly. I replaced my motor as it was doing the same thing. Put electric window motor in Amazon search and match yours up.

RE: Took a chance, painted motorhome myself with a roller lol

I know that you put a ton of elbow grease into that job! I sanded my fiberglass roof and repainted it with Dicor roof paint. I also did the side rails, and front upper cap. I did get a couple of quotes do repaint the whole coach, that scared me off. Just what I did about did me in. Congrats on a great job and your rv looks great!

RE: New florida hangout

I am following your post as we are going to be full timing soon. We have reservations for Florida State Parks fo the summer already booked. We don't play golf and the ocean isn't a major factor where we stay. We have looked at Paradise Oaks in Bushnell for a change from State Parks, but aren't that interested in RV parks so to speak.

RE: National Interstate goes to Liberty Mutual

I have Safeco on my pickup, car and RV. But now I have to find a new company for full time insurance. Safeco doesn't write full timer policies for RV's. Also I have a 17 year old getting his license Thursday. Safeco told me average for him will be $200 more a month! Oh boy.I guess insurance is good if you ever have to actually use it, but you pay, and pay, and pay!

RE: Steering Stabilizers....yes again..

Safe T plus is an amazing unit. It makes a huge difference for me. Less steering wander and less driving stress. I think it was the best $$$ I have ever spent in five years.

RE: Carbon monoxide detector going off

It should have a date on it. Even though it is a new motorhome I would check it. May be old stock they had sitting around. Mine did that with the beeping but it was old.

RE: Progressive Insurance questions

$320 for three cars and homeowners insurance in California is hard to believe. We pay $1000 for one car, one pickup a year. Then the RV is another $850 a year. Thats in Florida, we are both in our 60's, with no tickets, no accidents, and no claims ever. I usually shop quotes with different companies every 2 years to see if I can get better offers.

RE: Norcold

I have had the recall done twice now that has had the black overheat box replaced to a newer revision. It still works good and the recalls were paid for so not out any $$$$. If it does go out I will get a residential put in.

RE: Pensacola Beach RV or Santa Rosa RV

I agree with Jerry above ^ . Topsail, Grayton Beach, and Henderson are all nice State Parks. I booked all three for next summer as I was stationed there in the Air Force for 7 years and have several friends that retired there and still some that work in the area.

RE: Vehicle Registration

Escapees has a mail forwarding Service among many others. Florida, Texas, and North dakota are some that have domicile addresses to use.

RE: Fading Front Cap paint issues, questions

This has been a well known problem for many years. Paint checking has been an issue in even some of the high dollar brands. Clearcoat peeling on Motorhome railing sides and front and rear caps has been an issue since the 1990's. I have a 2001 Beaver coach that has both of these issues. I have painted my side rails successfully myself. I have taken care of redoing my fiberglass roof paint and am working on the front and rear upper caps due to clearcoat peeling off. My coach is parked at home, out in the sun 24/7 and that sure doesn't help. If you have a garage or covered rv port it sure does help, but if you fulltime it is again always out in the sun and the weather.

RE: Aspire vs a phaeton, what do you think?

I would go with the Tiffin. Now that Thor has acquired Entegra the build quality will slowly degrade. Sad but true. They have already cut back on some of the new ones this year.
