RE: Covered or not

They are very picky as to what they cover. I had a Norcold refrigerator cooling unit that went bad. The service center said that they had done several of them under the GS service plan. When they contacted GS to get the approval they wanted pictures of the cooling unit. After they sent them they refused to cover it because there was some rust on the coils of the unit. Of course it is exposed to the elements and that is normal to have rust. $1800 out of pocket for me.

RE: Newbie moving off trawler to motorhome.

We also transitioned from a large home to a 35' MY. After two years of boating the wife decided she wanted to MH. We bought a 32'Class C. We started living in the RV and used the boat weekends and some trips. Then we decided to sell the boat three years later. Because of a family situation we had to sell the Class C and settle down with a 1 year old. He is now 15, adopted, and a sophomore in High School. We now have a 40' Beaver DP and are getting ready to full time when the son graduates HS in 2018. Looking forward to traveling full time and meeting lots of fun people on the road!

RE: Wax?

I bought a gallon of shurhold wax on Amazon. It goes on easily and buffs off without that nasty white residue. I use it on cars, RV, even the riding mower.

RE: Would you come if I put in sites?

I would love a place like this to stop and stay occasionally. If there were more places it would be great!

RE: Changing Filters On RV

Use of the OEM filters may come in handy if you have a warranty that covers the engine, transmission, and or fuel system. Then no one can blame an aftermarket filter of any type.

RE: A letter to my neighbor flying his drone early this morning

Now, if everyone spelling the word "quiet" incorrectly by spelling it " quite" you may have a point explaining about the noisy drone at 715am.

RE: Install 50A Outlet at Electric Meter

I did my own wire feed with #6 wire and a double 50 amp breaker from my electrical panel outside and made my own pedestal to attach the 50 amp rv box too.

RE: Water damage on carpet

I just went thru this with my DP. One wall was damaged from a leak by a window and front cap seam. I have repaired these areas and had to remove two pieces of carpet from front and side wall and a piece of the floor carpet. I removed the rotted wood and replaced one section, repadded and replaced with a new carpet piece. Can't even see where I repaired or replaced the area. $20 for a 12 x 7 carpet remnant and a few hours of my time.

RE: Florida tornado SE of Tampa.

Siesta Key got hit hard. Condo's and homes have lots of damage. I haven't heard of RV park issues yet!

RE: True cost to operate a DP

I hate when the rv doorbell breaks. It is such an annoyance!

RE: Good idea or horrible?

I don't know where the historical peak is at. It sure isn't in Florida. Homes that sold for $250,000 during the last peak are selling for $135,000 now. I have been in my place 15 years and will be lucky to break even when selling soon. I don't agree the issue about kids and Rvs. But, imo do what makes the most sense to you, and makes you happy! There is only one time around to do things, so make the most of them.

RE: Rock Crusher Canyon RV Park, Crystal River FL

Glad that you have enjoyed Rock Crusher. My sis in law and family live on Avocado Drive directly across from there. We have a home in Weeki Wachee and travel a lot in our DP. The area is a great place to see the manatee's and lots of good seafood in the area! Enjoy!

RE: Base plate installation

My Cadillac was easy except for drilling into the frame. I went and purchased titanium bits for hard steel and they cut thru it like butter. It made a world of difference than what I first tried.

RE: Powerball, now 1.3 BILLION!

We play but seldom ever win anything! But the odds of winning are more in your favor if you play at least one ticket. All it takes is one. I have already decided that I would take the lump sum, put some in a trust fund for the 5 grandkids, give some to my 3 sons and wives. We would fly to Texas and order a new Foretravel and travel this beautiful Country with no issues.

RE: Fire

The newest FMCA magazine has a writeup on the 2016 American Eagle and it has an escape ladder in the bathroom. It is above the toilet and is a cabinet with shelves(ladder) that folds out thru the wall for going down in an emergency! I'm sure more will follow with something similar soon.

am/fm/cd changer issue

My Sony am/fm/cd changer has finally quit on the radio portion. CD and changer work fine. Of course this radio is no longer made. I guess that cd changers for the 10 cd system is not made at all anymore according to Sony! I did find a new head for it on Amazon and figured it was worth a try, didn't change anything though. Checked the antenna input on back and its connected ok and roof antenna seems ok. What else is there to check....unless an internal issue...?
