RE: Good Sam extended Service Plan Coverage

The plan is written very carefully to keep from covering many things. I have had it almost three years now and have had two claims with one being denied which was a $2100 out of pocket cooling unit replacement. Also had my hyd jack system replaced due to no parts available, again not covered. So its read read read, then read it again.

leveling system replacement

I just returned home from a cross country trip to the HWH factory in Moscow Iowa to have my leaking obsolete leveling system replaced with a direct airbag leveling system by HWH. We were there 2 1/2 days and they removed the front hydraulic jacks, disconnected the rear jacks ( as rear wheels and tires had to be removed to remove these)and capped all the lines. The old dash console was removed and a new HWH console was custom installed to fit in the same location. This was a custom replacement so all of the wiring harnesses had to be custom made in-house too. A new air compressor, a front and rear manifold, and all the air lines were fitted and installed along with all the custom wiring. The hydraulic tank was still needed as the l/r slideout is operated by hydraulics tank pressure. They filled the tank , bled the air, and checked the slide for proper operation. The whole system took 2 1/2 days to finish with several in factory checks, then again outside it was checked out several times to be sure it worked correctly. We are pleased with the work that was done and very happy with the treatment by all the staff, Ashley, Jeff, and the shop foreman down to the technicians and engineers were all a pleasure to work with.

RE: Florida state caverns

Florida Caverns State park was great, but be careful if you have any immune issues. My wife got severely sick after going down in the caverns due to the moisture and molds. Ended up at ER then sick still a week later.

Looks great Dennis! If mine ever goes I will have to follow suit....I know my Norcold will go out the center entry door as I replaced the cooling unit 2 years ago. Hopefully the samsung will fit thru the door opening too.....

RE: Why does it take CW so long to do the work

I try to do my own repairs whenever possible. But a few times I had no choice but to take it in, either because of my lack of knowledge or not having the proper tools. These three times in 2 1/2 years either they didn't fix the problem correctly or missed something I asked to fix. One time they returned my motorhome after 2 weeks saying they replaced the safety cutoff box for the frig and didn't replace it, they said that they were getting ready to replace it and the service writer thought it was done. Another time the service place, someone put a 2 foot long deep scratch on the side and it was down to the bare metal. The manager's response was"I don't see how anyone here could do that and not say something." They did repaint it and did a good job, but waited another week for it. I have only found two places, and they were referred to me as being top notch places and this happened at these two places. So you never know when you take your MH what you are gonna get!

RE: tow package,

usually most vehicles go through a design change after just a few years.....but if you have the bracket model number you can go to camping world site and check other vehicles part numbers against what you have! I have a bracket setup for a 2005 CRV and is only good for two years on that vehicle only....

RE: Cadillac SRX

I just looked at the FMCA website and the 2014 towing guide and it shows the 2014 Cadillac SRX towable 4 wheel down with 2 or 4 wheel drive automatic transmissions.

RE: Cadillac SRX

I have a 2012 SRX and it is automatic and 4 wheel down towable. I just bought it 2 months ago because it is. Not sure why the 2014 isn't though, unless they changed the transmission or something else! right in the owner maual says on mine to pull shifter cover up, then push down plastic button in upper rh corner down and shift into neutral. Thats it, then when you are done towing, put in park and run for 5 minutes or so.

RE: Norcold 1200- deal killer?

don't worry so much about a Norcold. I have had one for years. It runs all the time, yes I did have to have the cooling unit replaced once and the recall was done on the new unit. But it has always performed great. Not a deal breaker by any means....

RE: Great Service

You are lucky, I had mine done but Good Sam would not pay for mine......cost me a small fortune on my own....strike 1 with my warranty coverage....
