RE: West Memphis,AR

Thanks folks, what a shame....guess it happens to them almost every year. We'll stay there another time....the KOA sounds fine.

West Memphis,AR

We have reservations at Tom Sawyers for 5/17 and 5/18. I understand they are closed right now due to high water....are they actually under water again or is the water just dangerously high? We can stop by there at some other time, just curious to hear their status from someone in the area. Thanks!!

RE: Bouncing Bounder!

I bought an '06 Bounder Diesel 38N new in late 2005. I can remember that after I had it weighed at the corners, I ran 85 psi in the front tires and 95 psi in the rears. I felt that my Bounder rode and handled just fine and really enjoyed driving it.

RE: 350 Cat - C7 fuel mileage

I bought a Fleetwood Bounder Diesel new in '06, it had a 300hp C7 engine. After 38000 miles, always towing my CRV,it got about 7.6mpg on average. My current rig does about 7.2 average but weighs alot more than the BD.

RE: Downshifting

My 1st motorhome was on a Workhorse chassis with the 8.1 litre engine and it would downshift at the slightest incline, going 65 on a four lane and coming to a slight overpass and it just couldn't seem to hold 5th gear.

RE: Norcold 1200 Burner Assy

I did look in the manual, but didn't see that spec. I started installation of an Amish CU today. I slid in the burner tube and see that the spark sensor actually touches the tube in the new CU. I'll have to adjust the gap per your specs. Thanks for the help!

Norcold 1200 Burner Assy

Would someone be able to tell me what the proper gap between the burner tube and spark sensor is? Can I bend the sensor a bit to get the proper gap? Thanks for any help!!

Diesel Engine Oil Analysis

I would like to get my engine oil analysis done this spring as I do my annual oil change. I know about the Blackstone Labs, but wondered if there were any other labs in the Houston area that I could carry a sample to for the same tests as Blackstone. Thanks for any info!

RE: Ogunquit RV Park for July

We stopped at the Wells Beach Resort a few years ago to visit the area on our way to Bar Harbor....about 4 years ago the daily rate was in the $80s.....I'm always surprised at how expensive camping in Maine can be for what you get. Oh, born and raised in Portland...

Strouhal Tire Center

My travel buddy and I visited the Strouhal Tire Center in Willis,TX yesterday to check out prices on new front tires. He needs 295/80R22.5 and I need 305/70R22.5...As we walked in the door a salesman approached us and we told him that we wanted to ask about new tires. First thing out of his mouth was "You guys members of FMCA"? He went on to describe how the system works and that we could save a bunch over what he'd have to charge us for tires.
And I thought We'd have a hard time finding a tire shop that would honor the FMCA discount...never expected a salesman to reccommend it to us. What a place!!

My stupid question for today

I've read alot about the need to clean rear radiators on DPs and about the airflow direction from under the coach picking up dirt and junk and then passing through the CAC and radiator. I don't recall reading about the direction of airflow through a side radiator. Does it go through the radiator "backwards" also?

RE: Prince Edward Island

Thanks Little Kopit.....I guess I have a slight depth perception problem. I crossed into Ontario from Grand Portage,MN last summer and I don't know how I made it. I don't know why the authorities have make the lanes sooooo narrow. Should have taken the truck lanes and let them yell at me. LOL!

RE: Prince Edward Island

Thank you all for the great information. One more thing, from Bangor, where would you suggest crossing from ME to NB? I like to avoid super narrow obstacle course checkpoints if at all possible. Thanks again!!
