RE: Dinette bed weight limit on a jayco featherlite?

When I weighed 225 I laid on ours and it bowed but didn't break. Oh, that was on a PUP not our ROO.

RE: Coyote 20C Parts?

Be careful adding tongue weight it can cause you a lot of problems while towing if you get to heavy. Read your specs, have the tongue weight checked and see if you can compensate for the added weight.

RE: Coyote 20C Parts?

You might try calling Dustin Wallace of Wallace RV repair and ask him to price them, including shipping. His number is 865-548-0805. He is located in Knoxville, TN. but he has good rates.
Good luck on your project, myself I would send it to Dustin.

RE: A/C not cooling properly

Probably what you will find is dirty condenser and evap coils. As stated this has to be done from the outside. If it does need charged don't just have the charge topped off, repair the leak then recharge. Piercing valves are a bad idea when recharging as they tend to leak after a time and with the price of Freon now days you are better off using the type that has to be soldered in.

RE: Jayco 17Z 2013 failed flooring structure

At least when you get it back it will be in good shape to sell or trade in. I've seen some really nice 5'ers out there but with the investment with the 5'er and the TV I was thinking a MH would be some cheaper. Boy, that comment should raise some heads. Anyway, good luck with your search and repairs.

RE: HTT construction; What is good vs. not so good

I think all hybrids are constructed with the same limits in mind regardless of materials used. The object is light weight construction as in most light weight TT's.

RE: hitch on back of a Star Stream 18RB

Of course you know you STILL need at least 13% of the TOTAL FULLY LOADED INCLUDING ANYTHING ON A REAR HITCH TT. How do you plan to keep the TT tongue heavy enough? Personally I'll bet you can not.
One other point. Do you recall reading WHY you can't use stabilizers to level light weight TT's? It is because they may bend the frame that way. Your TT frame really isn't very strong either.
Personally if you really really need more outside space I recommend a pickup.
Without a doubt!

RE: help with water pump problem

Remove the little screen and push the button hidden underneath a few times to free it's motion. Should cure the check valve problem. If not it's replaceable.
I've given up on the little rubber cover and have a solid, screw in plug on our fresh water inlet. Solves both problems.
Putting antifreeze in the fresh water tank is a poor procedure. For starters this tank is never completely empty so you're pumping diluted antifreeze into the system and this "tasteless" antifreeze ain't tasteless. Your water will taste "pink" all next season.

What he said. These things are cheap, if it were mine I would just replace it. I picked up clear tubing from the hardware store and dis connect the inlet side of the pump, hook the tubing to it and pump straight from the bottle. Quick and easy.

RE: Replacing a Thermostat

Most house thermostats are powered by the furnace. RV furnace has no provision for that. The only good reason to not get a digital thermostat is if you enjoy the wild heat swings you get with a mechanical version. Too hot followed by too cold! :)
The LUX heat-only digital I had in my popup was very stable as is the heat/AC Hunter in the Roo. The Hunter is $20 at Home Depot, not a big expense.
-- Chuck
HMMMMMM, a lot cheaper than I would have thought.

RE: First camping trip in the HTT!

Glad to hear you had a great experience on your first trip. Such an upgrade going from a popup to an HTT. You will find the bathroom very convenient especially in the middle of the night, and a lot more space and storage.
Enjoy your HTT and start building memories.

RE: Replacing a Thermostat

Any heat only stat will work and are far less expensive than a heat cool or set back stat.

RE: Moving On

We will miss your input. Hope you enjoy your new venture in the south. We moved here over 12 years ago and have not regretted a minute of the move. We may give up the rv scene in a few years if the ole health starts moving south with me. Best of luck.

RE: bed rails?

Might want to check at Wal Mart or Amazon to see what they have. That should be an easy thing to find. Local sales may have something posted as well.

RE: New kind of hybrid (take 2)

Doesn't look like something I would be interested in. I like a little more room than what that provides. Plus, mama doesn't use comfort stations to shower and the such.

RE: Water damage

Just wondering how hard it's gonna be to get, the shower out and things like that
That stuff isn't that hard to remove and put back. The question is, how much damage is there that can't be noticed until opened up. Sounds like you may not want to try this on your own.

RE: Water damage

I would go a little deeper than an overlay if it were my rig. I recently had the floor replaced in out rig. First I repaired the cause of the damage then had the floor replaced, then laminate placed over that. Cost was about $1600.00 dollars to have it done. If you do an overlay that's what you have, a bad floor with a cosmetic fix on top of it.

RE: New camping reservation system in TN

Are the CG letting campers pick the site they want or are they just assigned randomly?
You can pick your site if available for the dates you want.
