RE: Has anyone stayed at.....

Stayed there a few years back and really felt welcome. Nice huge trees for shade, nice pool, fair rates, and close to Busch Gardens.

RE: US files charge against Toyota, $1.2B penalty

ironically when the US Govt. sues GM for 1.4 billion $$$ they will just be getting their own money back or have to loan them the money to pay the fine. bumpy :B

RE: Diesel fuel penalty

Agree, it seems the price is such that it negates the savings from increased fuel mileage. I'm guessing that as more diesels are offered as passenger vehicles the price will stay high or go higher. What can we do?....take shorter trips.

RE: Silver Springs

As a footnote, please do not get short sighted when you see a rule you don't like. Silver Springs has some of the clearest water on the planet, and the State Of Florida is trying very hard to keep it that way. Until underwater filming technology caught up in the 70's, lots of underwater photography was done there. Those us that are old enough: Remember Sea Hunt, with Lloyd Bridges? Filmed there, with many other movies. Enjoy the area. It is a beautiful and unique. I remember Sea Hunt. I was told that Tarzan movies were filmed there thus the resident monkey population. The river is truly spectacular and a must see. I plan to go back in my travels. Did the state keep the giraffes and other non-native species?

RE: Ohiopyle State Park?

I have lived within30 minutes of Ohiopyle my whole life. We go there at least 5 times a summer. It is awesome. I would stay at the state park which is just a small walk to the center of town. In town you will find rafting, biking "rails to trails". There is also hiking to Cucumer Falls, you have to do. Beautiful... But the by far best thing to do are the "natural water slides". Water slides carved out of the bedrock. It really is a wonderful place. This has been our experience, my wife grew up in the area. We go about once every two years. We stay at Benners Campground. It's well run with full hook up sites, pool, store, etc. I've been told there is a great COE park not too far from the park with water and electric only and a dump station. Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob are close too. Also visited Fort Necessity where Colonel George Washington surrendered to the French. Lots to do! Enjoy!

RE: Bi-fuel Chevrolet Silverado HD

Would be cool to use gasoline to get the load up to speed on the highway and then switch over to "gas" to keep things moving! Run a few hundred miles and switch back to gasoline and head into the station... Maybe its the $2.00 bucks a gallon- that just brings a giant smile to my face! I can't give up my diesel but I really like the above idea! Agree! $2.00 a gallon will make me smile too but when I bought my duramax in 2009 I paid $2.40 a gallon for diesel. We'll see.

RE: Power Tongue Jack only goes up

Before ordering a new switch check that the wiring is in good repair, may be a loose or broken wire. If you need a switch try a trailer supply/repair shop first, cheaper than $50.00. I think mine was around $20.00.

RE: Bush Gardens, Tampa Fl.

We stayed at Happy Traveler years ago and it was a very friendly well-run place. We'd go back. LazyDays' Rally Park is very nice too. Both parks have full hook ups which we like to have.

Can you imagine the fun we could have with those so-called 'factory experts'! :B Never thought of it that way, makes the price of admission seem smaller.:E

RE: Now towing with a HDT, why didn't I do this years ago

I have a '74 GMC Astro cabover tractor with a Detroit 8v92 and 13 speed. I am seriously considering making it a single axle, stretching the frame, making it full air ride and after restoring it completely making it a "classic" HDT/ combo hauler. Whatcha think about that fellas?? It's been sitting for about 20 years and I am going to restore it (yes I am prepared and capable of the challenge), just the options of the final purpose are still up in the air. 1- Restore back to original for show quality and "classic look". 2- Restore and modify to make an excellent "hot rod" truck 3- Restore and modify as above to haul a small car on a deck and tow fifth wheel trailers and set up more as an RV function Option 3. That would be a show stopper! Mr. Cob, thanks for sharing all the info on your HDT. You present the options well and my guess is we've all learned a lot.
