friends traveling with us this past summer lost a wheel as we were leaving the Badlands. It past them and went thru the parking lot. How it missed hitting people or vehicles was a miracle it then hit the curb and launched itself into the Badlands.
So disappointed in Yellowstone cg. Fishing Bridge is a rip off tight quarters no picnic tables. Stayed 2 nights because everything else was either closed or booked (check for closing dates of campgrounds) next we went up to Mammouth which we loved especially the elk in the cg. However, there is no dump station there!! had to tote it all back to Grant which has extremely tight sites and a drive to the showers. They also had closed one of the dump stations the morning we were leaving but didn't inform anyone. Next to the Tetons where we stayed at Slide Rock nothing but quiet and views. We prefer to boondock but friends camping with us no as adventuresom they admitted that enjoyed the wide open spaces much better than YS. Also traveled down to SW Wyoming and into Flaming Gorge in Utah. Found lots of free camping beside rivers and gorgeous views. Snow chased us east.
have a Doran system. A sensor went bad before we left on east coast to Wyoming trip this summer. Called sent it back it was under warranty so replaced for $0. We had an extra sensor so programmed that one in and left for YS. They mailed the replacement and it was here when we got home. Last year on trip to Alaska we had one lose it's signal and Doran mailed us new ones to General Delivery in Homer Alaska. Had call to use the monitor only once on Alaska trip and not needed TG this trip. I bet our friends traveling with us wish they'd had one when they lost a wheel (not just the tire) when we were leaving the Badlands on Labor Day week end. Buy a system any system. they work!!!
bent axles on our 5th wheel last summer in Alaska. Replaced 1 in Fairbanks and both this spring with heavier ones before this summers trips.Axles guys in Mass. told us as did supplier (Dexel) that we needed heavier duty axles as originals were not heavy enough. They also said not to align waste of money.
we have a 14 year old bk lab we purchased a runner carpet we attach to stairs with bungies so she can't slip thru the steps also the runner is removable Also found if guide her by holding collar helps. She is nearly blind and hearing is failing plus wobbly hind end. we know her camping days are limited but she's traveled everywhere with us.
had't unfurled awning since last summer in Alaska. Yuk. Didn't have any cleaner so thought wonder if Swifer floor cleaner would work.? It worked like a charm and no messy spray running down my arm. This awning was really bad so will do again in a week or so. The long handle allowed me to reach the whole underside without getting on a ladder. Hubby was impressed when he came home from lobstering!!!!
you'd be surprised on the contents value of your rV After our fire last year we had to give insurance company estimate of contents. We totaled up nearly 20,000.00 taking into account clothing electronics etc etc. tHat was just contents. Not the actual 5th wheel. Granted they didn't give us the total but after settling we were able to get a newer 5th wheel and stock it. We said we were Mitchell SD's new stimulus package.
