Well, to be honest, some money did exchange hands.

Thanks to my brother

for taking the time to look through and under my camper and finding (and fixing) all of the snapped bolts, broken harnesses and hanging wires. Who would have thought that there would be all of these "on the brink" issues? BTW, I am a very careful driver so it has nothing to do with reckless care.

RE: TV on while traveling

There is an overhead bed between the driver and the TV. The driver cannot see the TV. The kids will be seatbelted in. All safety steps will be taken. Just wanted to make the trip go by more quickly for the teens. The coach comes equipped with an inverter. If this isn't legal, I sure don't want to do it. We will find something else to occupy them.

TV on while traveling

We are planning a cross country trip soon with 3 kids aged 12-14. To make the time go by quicker for them, I would like for them to be able to watch DVDs on the TV while we are traveling. Usually, when the MH is in drive, the TV goes off. I know that, at one time, someone had a post about how to allow for that to happen. Any help?

RE: Converter Fuses location for Greyhawk 26DS

The transfer switch transfers charging between shore power and the generator. There was power going in but not coming out. All of the interior outlets were dead until the technician "fiddled" with the terminals. According to them, this is not something that should happen at all. Unfortunately, on this model, it was very difficult to get to. Actually, there are three 25A "ATO"fuses as part of the converter. I know because I pulled them myself to check them out. This was separate from the switches and other fuses in the fuse panel. Yes, I agree that it is a good idea to check the water. I have not done that before, so it is something that I should do. Thanks.

RE: Converter Fuses location for Greyhawk 26DS

Thanks for all of your replies. I ended up finding the converter which is located BEHIND the panels covering the walls in the back outside storage bin. The fuses were fine so I took it in to my service center. They checked around and found that it was a faulty transfer switch. Awaiting the arrival of a new one. Thanks again.

RE: Converter Fuses location for Greyhawk 26DS

Not yet. Looking at the battery was my next step. According to the Jayco manual, any consumer-operated fuses were in the same panel (another section) of the 12V fuses. They look to be switches. I am going to take the battery in to have it tested. I just didn't know if, even if the battery is not that great, I should be able to use outlets if on shore power. That appears not to be the case and that is why we thought it might be the converter. I would prefer not taking it in to the dealer as that is a pain, but I may have to. Thanks for all of your help, as usual. This site is terrific for advice.

RE: Converter Fuses location for Greyhawk 26DS

Thank you. I went out and, I think that I located the switches. The first one starts with "Main", etc. Now my question is: With the camper plugged into shore power should the light at the top of the command center be still yellow or should it turn green since it should be getting power from an outside source?

Converter Fuses location for Greyhawk 26DS

I own a 2011 Jayco Greyhawk 26DS. Shorepower is not recharging the house battery and my dealer service center suggested I check the fuses that operate the converter. I found the 15 amp switch in the panel just under the bed, but I do not know how to locate the converter nor the fuses. He said that they would be 40 amp reverse polarity somewhere within arm's reach of the converter. Can anyone help?

RE: Going down mountains

I like to brag to myself if I've avoided the brakes all the way. The wife, however, never seems to care! Haha...that's definitely a guy thing. I feel ya, brother. Next time just tell your wife I care... ...or a driver thing...;)

RE: Driving a class C

Once I got used to driving the large "bus", there were no issues. Have driven over 8,000 miles so far and it is easy to drive. It just took a little getting used to the difference in handling.

RE: Satellite Dishes

When I went full time I left my dish on the roof so I have never removed one. This house has 2 of them mounted side by side. Don't understand why they did that? In years past, DirecTV used two dishes, one for cable channels and one for local. They have now incorporated them into one. I believe that there were two different satellites involved.

RE: Welcome Class of 2013 Crs - miss you Hybridrs

Welcome. I came from a 23B two years ago. I have to be honest...there are times when I miss the open feel of sleeping in the bunkends. There is nothing like it. But, other than that, this way of traveling cannot be beat. Have a great time traveling with the family.

RE: Possibly dumb DirecTv question

Sure. Just turn off the receiver and make sure that you have set your tv to over the air stations and that the antenna is connected to your tv. I do it all the time.

RE: Black Tank issue

I saw this thread and am hoping that someone can help me out. I dropped a sponge down mine this weekend. I am winterized and was using the black tank to pour all dishwater from a bucket. I forgot the sponge was still in there. I can't see it floating by. Is it easier to remove the toilet and reset it or some other method? I was looking for ideas here. It floats and if it does not clog, I might just leave it there.
